Arc 6The Rockscale Dragon

Moss and Anlia pursued the Giant Beast and confronted the Boundary God Cult after rescuing Umeilu and defeating a werewolf in Nange Village. They encountered a massive Rockscale Dragon, then Aster attacked and claimed the cult had recovered an escaped Experiment Subject.

  • Anlia warned Anis that monsters were moving toward Hill City and Hill Forest, then returned with her group to Nange Village while Anis and General Angsa headed for Hill City.
  • Lina taught Moss the basics of Magic Traps, and Moss gained the Magic Script and Array Composition talents before a Diamond Golem attacked their camp.
  • Anlia led the group toward Nange Village as the Diamond Golem pursued them, then used her Pitfall Trap Rod to trap it.
  • Moss and Anlia followed enormous footprints and found Umeilu, a scarred beastkin girl who could transform, while Lina, Winsa, and Lize searched the ruins of Nange Village.
  • A werewolf from the Boundary God Cult attacked the group, but Moss defeated him with her enhanced strength, and Anlia took a piece of his skin bearing a Stone Gate tattoo.
  • Moss gained Umeilu’s oath to help destroy the Boundary God Cult and joined Anlia in concluding that the cult had used Demonic Vines to steer the Giant Beast toward another target.
  • Moss and Anlia followed the Giant Beast toward Xilok Mountain, where a Rockscale Dragon burst from underground and caused the mountainside to collapse around them.
  • After Moss and Anlia escaped the Rockscale Dragon, Aster shattered Anlia’s left arm and accused Moss of helping his team recover an escaped Experiment Subject.
Chapters 126–150 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 126Badge

Anlia reported that monsters were moving toward Hill City and Hill Forest, raising fears that Hill City’s weak defenses would be overwhelmed. Anis thanked Anlia and Lina, learned they belonged to ducal branch families and saw Anlia’s secret badge, before a lookout announced General Angsa’s return.

  • Anlia tracked Rock Lizards and other monsters approaching from the Luya Plain and concluded that the disturbance lay farther away than Lina had guessed.
  • Anlia warned Anis that the plain’s monsters were heading toward Hill City and Hill Forest, and Anis worried his family could not send reinforcements in time.
  • Anis thanked Anlia for saving him and Juli, while Anlia felt responsible for the army’s dangerous detours.
  • Lina revealed that she belonged to a branch of Duke Infister’s family, and Anlia said she belonged to a branch of Duke Hlaesun’s family.
  • Anlia showed Anis a badge identifying their group with Three Flowers Ten Stars, and Anis suppressed his urge to ask about the secret force.
  • A lookout reported that General Angsa had returned.

Ch. 127Continue Forward

Moss recovered from fighting the wolves and spoke with Juli, the younger sister of Viscount Anis, while the travelers prepared to leave the woods. General Angsa regrouped with Anis, and the Featherwing Adventurer Group split from his party to continue toward Nange Village.

  • Moss reflected on her use of the Black Crystal Mist and Sorcery Fist before Juli climbed onto the carriage roof and asked her name.
  • Moss told Juli to call her Molly, then persuaded her that Anis needed to train harder because he slept too much.
  • A knight announced General Angsa's return, and the group prepared to depart the woods.
  • Angsa thanked Anlia's Featherwing Adventurer Group for helping Anis and warned that monsters were increasing nearby.
  • Anlia gave Anis a map and asked him to report the monster attack to the Adventurer's Guild.
  • Anis and Angsa set off for Hill City while Anlia's group continued toward Nange Village.

Ch. 128Trap

As the Featherwing Adventurer Group traveled toward Nange Village, Moss helped them avoid monsters, delaying their journey until they stopped for the night. Anlia taught Moss how she prepared the campsite with warning lines, repellent powder, and bell-rope traps, then led her to find Lina.

  • Moss told Anlia she had sensed no monsters nearby, and Anlia decided the group would rest before continuing toward Nange Village.
  • Anlia and Lina went to set traps, and Anlia asked Moss to accompany her into the woods.
  • Moss sensed the nearly transparent Shadow Spider threads Anlia had placed, and Anlia explained how the alarm lines, Beast Repellent Powder, and Bell Rope guarded the campsite.
  • Anlia demonstrated how Bell Rope could lash out when triggered and warned Moss that wilderness campsites might contain dangerous traps.
  • Anlia reset the Bell Rope and led Moss toward Lina, who was drawing circles on the ground with her staff.

Ch. 129Arrayology

Lina explained Magic Traps and Arrayology to Moss, then demonstrated how a simple flame array worked. Moss became interested in learning arrays and gained the Magic Script and Array Composition talents.

  • Lina finished drawing a Magic Trap array while Anlia activated hundreds of arrays nearby.
  • Anlia led Moss to Lina and explained that the arrays were Magic Traps before going to plant the team banner.
  • Lina described common trap arrays and explained how the Adventurer's Guild Territory Banner protected the area around it.
  • Moss asked Lina to teach her array drawing, and Lina showed her the Three Sources structure and its inscriptions.
  • Lina activated a basic flame array, and Moss gained the Magic Script and Array Composition talents.

Ch. 130Spells and the Source Zone

Lina taught Moss how incantations and Source Zones shaped magic arrays, then recalled an enormous elven array that had sealed most of a World Gate five hundred years earlier. Moss asked Lina to teach her more, and the group left after Lina subtly adjusted their trap.

  • Lina explained the basic Three Sources framework and how incantations combined to determine an array’s functions.
  • Lina described the Six and Nine Sources frameworks and the three concept incantations proposed by the elven sage Farulu.
  • Lina recalled how dozens of Arrayology Grandmasters and two hundred thousand mages had used a 375-Source array to banish most of a World Gate five hundred years earlier.
  • Moss asked Lina to teach her more incantations, and Lina agreed to teach her when they returned.
  • Anlia called Moss and Lina back, and Lina tapped the ground to adjust the trap before the three of them left.

Ch. 131Camping and an Ambush

Winsa, Lize, Anlia, Lina, and Moss camped for the night and shared dinner before taking turns on watch. Moss sensed a threat approaching from the south, and the chapter ended as a violent earthquake struck and the group saw a Diamond Golem.

  • Winsa finished setting up the tents while Lize cooked dinner, and Anlia, Lina, and Moss returned from training.
  • The group ate together, and Moss quietly reflected that she did not belong with the harmonious team.
  • During the second half of the night watch, Winsa brought Moss hot tea, and Anlia reported that the surrounding traps were undisturbed.
  • Moss sensed a presence from the south and warned Anlia to look out.
  • The ground split and shook violently, the tents collapsed, and Lina and Lize emerged to see a Diamond Golem.

Ch. 132Escape

The Featherwing Adventurer Group escaped the Diamond Golem’s first attack, but Moss warned that monsters were approaching from Hill City, forcing them to take a dangerous detour toward Nange Village. As the golem caught up with their carriage, it transformed its arm into a cannon and unleashed Rock Barrage.

  • Moss shielded the group from the Diamond Golem’s attack with water, then carried them away as the golem pursued.
  • After the group regrouped, Anlia ordered them to flee toward Hill City, but Moss warned that a huge number of monsters were approaching from that direction.
  • Anlia chose a route through Nange Village, Deep Rock Canyon, and Hill Forest, and secretly sent a distress signal.
  • Lize spotted the Diamond Golem catching up, and Anlia recognized that it was preparing its Rock Barrage.
  • The Diamond Golem fired its attack as the carriage fled.

Ch. 133Morning

Anlia, Lina, Lize, and Moss fought off a golem that attacked their carriage in the night. As morning arrived, the group survived the attack, while Anlia mourned the loss of her expensive magical bolt and demanded Lina repay her.

  • Anlia spotted a boulder flying toward the carriage, and Lina and Moss combined fire and water magic to shatter it.
  • A thirty-meter golem emerged from the flames, so Lina sped up the carriage while Moss slowed the golem with gravity magic.
  • Anlia fired a costly impact bolt that sent the golem flying away from the carriage.
  • Anlia lamented the loss of her three-hundred-gold bolt, then grabbed Lina and demanded she share the cost.
  • Moss noticed the sky growing bright as Anlia and Lina argued inside the carriage.

Ch. 134Hobbies and Pursuits

Moss and Anlia escaped the Diamond Golem by trapping it in a pit, and Anlia explained how her love of finding Magic Items led her to become a scout. As the group stopped for breakfast near Nange Village, Moss realized the golem was not the source of the massive vibration she had sensed the previous night; something much larger lay deeper in the Nanxi Hill Rock Mountain Range.

  • Anlia rejoined the carriage after shaking off the Diamond Golem and said she had prepared a trap for it.
  • Anlia stopped the carriage before the mountaintop, and she and Moss saw the Diamond Golem trapped with its feet in two pits.
  • Anlia revealed that her Permanent Magic Item, the Pitfall Trap Rod, had dug the pits, and she told Moss that her love of finding treasures had led her to become a scout.
  • Winsa called Moss and Anlia down for breakfast, and Anlia hurried back to the carriage.
  • Moss sensed that the Diamond Golem was not responsible for the previous night's vibration and looked toward the deeper Nanxi Hill Rock Mountain Range.

Ch. 135Huge Footprints

Anlia and her companions investigated why monsters were avoiding Nange Village, only to discover the village had been destroyed and a gigantic footprint lay across the road. The clues led Anlia to conclude that the Boundary God Cult had deliberately planted the Demonic Vines and outmaneuvered her intelligence agents.

  • Winsa announced that the carriage was nearing South Nange Village as heavy rain reduced the number of monsters on the road.
  • Moss and Anlia noticed that monsters had been turning away from the area around Nange Village, and Anlia questioned whether the Demonic Vines had been deliberately planted.
  • Moss sensed that Nange Village had become silent ruins.
  • Winsa stopped the carriage at an enormous footprint that stretched across the road, and Anlia and Lina examined it.
  • Anlia dated the footprint to several days earlier and connected the planted vines and the intelligence leaks to the Boundary God Cult.

Ch. 136Footprints and a Child

Anlia and Molly tracked the enormous footprints while the rest of the group headed to Nange Village, and Molly discovered that the Giant Beast was moving toward the Luya Plain. After Molly subdued an attacking black panther that transformed into a beastfolk girl, she called Anlia over.

  • Anlia split up the group, sending Winsa, Lize, and Lina toward Nange Village while she and Molly followed the footprints.
  • Anlia and Molly found another footprint, then separated to search for more and agreed to use signal flares to mark discoveries.
  • Molly found a black panther and trapped it in water, but it transformed into a beastfolk girl, whom Molly caught and began healing.
  • Anlia used the footprint locations to estimate that the Giant Beast was hundreds of meters long and heading toward the Luya Plain, putting Hill City at risk.
  • Molly appeared in a tree and urgently called Anlia over to see what she had found.

Ch. 137Experiment Subject and the Abandoned Village

Moss and Anlia found an injured orc child who could transform into a beast, and suspected the Boundary God Cult had experimented on her and was involved in the giant beast’s appearance. At Nange Village, Lina, Winsa, and Lize found only silent ruins with no people, bodies, or Demonic Vines, then rushed toward the sound of a fight.

  • Moss told Anlia that an orc child had attacked her and that the child could transform into a beast.
  • Moss showed Anlia the child’s extensive scars, and Anlia identified her as a possible experiment subject of the Boundary God Cult.
  • Anlia said the cult was involved somehow but doubted it could have created the giant beast, and she and Moss headed for Nange Village.
  • Lina, Winsa, and Lize arrived at Nange Village and searched its ruins for survivors.
  • Lina’s spell detected no living voices, while Winsa and Lize found no people, corpses, blood, or Demonic Vines.
  • Winsa and Lize heard an explosion and ran toward the sounds of a fight.

Ch. 138Heretics

Lina, Lize, and Winsa fought a Black Thorn assassin from the Boundary God Cult, who sought to capture them as valuable prey. Just as he seized the unconscious Lize, Moss struck him and Anlia caught Lize.

  • Lina clashed with the Black Thorn assassin and demanded to know where the village’s people had gone.
  • Lize attacked the Black Robe, but he deflected her sword and knocked her unconscious.
  • Lina and Winsa combined their attacks against the Black Robe, but he emerged unharmed and took Lize hostage.
  • The Black Robe announced that he would take both Lina and Lize as prey.
  • Moss kicked the Black Robe and Anlia caught Lize, sending the assassin crashing into the ruins.

Ch. 139Rampage?

Anlia and the others faced the transformed Black Robe, who revealed himself as a werewolf and threatened to kill them. Moss pretended to be enraged, then unleashed her Magic Power and began a Boundary Breakthrough.

  • Lina reunited with Anlia and Molly, treated the unconscious Lize, and explained that a former Shadow Holy Court member had attacked her in Nange Village.
  • The Black Robe emerged from the ruins transformed into a werewolf and revealed that he wanted the escaped Experiment Subject for his plans.
  • Anlia ordered Molly to guard Lize and the little girl, but Winsa noticed Molly acting strangely.
  • Moss set the little girl down and secretly resolved to seriously wound the werewolf, then feigned fury to disguise her excitement.
  • Moss unleashed her Magic Power and shouted, "Boundary Break Through!"

Ch. 140An Identity

Moss used her battle with the werewolf to reveal her transformation and pass herself off as an escaped experimental subject of the Boundary God Cult. The werewolf recognized her as an escaped subject and eyed her greedily.

  • Moss decided that the injured beastfolk girl's similar transformation ability could provide the missing past needed to secure her identity.
  • Moss activated Boundary Limit Breakthrough and attacked the werewolf with a relentless flurry of strikes.
  • The werewolf caught Moss's cloak cord, and she deliberately took a punch while kicking his head to stage the end of their exchange.
  • Moss landed and revealed her transformed appearance to Anlia, Winsa, Lina, and the others.
  • The werewolf called Moss a successful escaped experimental subject and declared that she would make his day lucky.

Ch. 141The Plan Worked!

Moss revealed herself as an escaped Experiment Subject to provoke the werewolf and protect Anlia and the others. After Anlia declared Molly their teammate, Moss used her overwhelming strength and Gravity Manipulation to pin the werewolf down and began her counterattack.

  • Anlia and Winsa reacted to the Heretics' claim that Moss was an escaped Experiment Subject, and Anlia declared Molly their teammate and urged the group to fight alongside her.
  • Moss decided to hold off the Diamond-grade werewolf while Anlia and the others escaped danger, trusting her exceptional combat strength and stored supplies.
  • Moss dropped her beast form and secretly used Gravity Manipulation, making the werewolf feel increasingly suppressed.
  • Moss taunted the werewolf as a defective product created by the Boundary God Cult, then pinned him down with 5x Gravity.
  • Moss unleashed Gravity Might: Abyssal Pit, increased the pressure to 10x Gravity, and vowed to crush the werewolf.

Ch. 142Battle Underway

Moss fought the werewolf, whose shadow transformation let him escape gravity suppression and heal from injuries. As their battle intensified and devastated the village, Anlia stayed behind to assemble a crossbow while Lina and Winsa evacuated the injured.

  • Moss battered the werewolf with gravity-enhanced attacks and Water Swords, but he escaped by dissolving into black smoke and emerging from underground thorns.
  • The werewolf asked about the Perfect Individual, and Moss mocked him before he attacked again and revealed that his shadow transformation let him recover from injuries.
  • Moss identified the werewolf's ability as turning himself into a shadow, and he claimed he was immortal as long as he had that power.
  • Moss and the werewolf launched into a high-speed fight that sent shock waves through the village and collapsed its houses.
  • Winsa said the battle was beyond her, and Anlia told Lina and Winsa to take Lize and the little girl to the carriage.
  • Anlia stayed behind to assemble a sniper-like crossbow and loaded a golden-patterned arrow, urging Molly to win so she would not lose 1,000 Gold Coins.

Ch. 143Battle's End

Moss unleashed her full strength and killed the werewolf after their battle devastated Nange Village. Exhausted, she collapsed in Anlia’s arms, and Anlia took a piece of the werewolf’s skin bearing the Stone Gate tattoo before leaving to find Lina and the others; gray-black figures then arrived to destroy the corpse.

  • Moss used rain and water attacks to batter the werewolf, but he regenerated and dismissed her attacks as useless.
  • Moss activated all six Rank IX Enhancement talents, revealing that she was more than four times stronger than before.
  • Moss used Blood Flow Combat Style: Five Senses Closed to destroy the werewolf’s head and kill him.
  • Molly collapsed from exhaustion, and Anlia caught her and carried her away from the ruins of Nange Village.
  • Anlia returned to the werewolf’s corpse, took a piece of skin bearing the Stone Gate tattoo, and left to find Lina and the others.
  • Gray-black figures gathered around the corpse and began gnawing at it under their Lord’s order to leave no trace.

Ch. 144Awakening

Moss woke in the carriage after confirming that her rats had finished their operation in Nange Village without leaving a trace. She pretended to confess to Anlia and Lina that she had deceived them, secured a place in the group, and offered to care for the captured Beastkin girl.

  • Moss checked through her rats that a day had passed in Nange Village and ordered them to keep monitoring the area.
  • Moss found Anlia teasing the struggling Beastkin girl while Winsa tried to restrain her.
  • Anlia and Lina comforted Moss and assured her that she was accepted into the Featherwing Adventurer Group regardless of her past.
  • Moss pretended to cry and apologized for deceiving the group, then felt relieved that she had secured a reasonable identity.
  • Winsa asked what to do with the girl, and Moss offered to take care of her because they were the same kind.

Ch. 145Umeilu

Moss revealed that she knew Umeilu could speak and offered to repair her body in exchange for her help destroying the Boundary God Cult. Umeilu swore herself to Moss and received implanted memories and instructions for the plan.

  • Moss confronted the beastkin girl, who admitted she could speak and described the Abnormal Organs implanted in her body.
  • Umeilu recognized that Moss had also transformed, and Moss showed her that she could restore her body and had already removed the abnormal growth from her abdomen.
  • Moss promised to repair Umeilu in exchange for her oath to help destroy the Boundary God Cult.
  • Umeilu swore herself to Moss as her lord, and Moss bound her to service while giving her Magic Power techniques, fabricated memories, and a plan.
  • Umeilu called Moss her lord and then addressed her as Sister Molly, appearing innocent while concealing her desire for revenge.

Ch. 146Discussion

As Moss and Anlia traveled through Deep Rock Canyon, they reasoned that the Boundary God Cult was using Demonic Vines to lure the Giant Beast toward a target beyond Hill City. They accepted that they would likely encounter the cult while trying to rescue the people of Nange Village.

  • Anlia explained that Deep Rock Canyon was the only route across the Nanxi Hill Rock Mountain Range and that the Giant Beast was too large to pass through it.
  • Moss proposed that the Boundary God Cult had planted Demonic Vines in Nange Village to bait the Giant Beast and steer it toward another target.
  • Anlia and Moss concluded that the cult likely could not control the Giant Beast and that its target was somewhere in Hill Forest or farther away.
  • Moss suspected the cult had captured Nange Village's civilians to use as bait, and Anlia realized their route made an encounter with the cult likely.
  • Moss vowed to wipe out the Boundary God Cult, then reassured Anlia that she would not lose control again.

Ch. 147Approaching

Moss cared for Umeilu during dinner and reminded her that their act had to continue, even as they grew close through their Kin Contract. The group set off through Deep Rock Canyon, expecting to encounter the Giant Beast that day.

  • Moss fed Umeilu, who called her Mama, while Anlia teased Moss about acting like Umeilu’s mother.
  • At dawn, Moss warned Umeilu to stay clear-headed and remember that their act was not over.
  • Winsa drove the group’s carriage out through Deep Rock Canyon as Moss, Anlia, and Lina studied the map.
  • Anlia marked the canyon’s middle section as the likely place they would encounter the Giant Beast.

Ch. 148Earthquake

Moss and Anlia tracked the Giant Beast through the mountains, only to discover it was moving underground. The mountaintop collapsed beneath them as an enormous black creature burst out of the canyon, leaving them falling beneath its shadow.

  • Moss and Anlia left Lina in charge of the group and set out to investigate the out-of-control Experiment Subject.
  • Moss and Anlia climbed out of Deep Rock Canyon and followed the Giant Beast’s footsteps toward Xilok Mountain.
  • As earthquakes and falling rocks intensified, Moss realized the Giant Beast had vanished underground and warned Anlia.
  • The mountaintop collapsed beneath Moss and Anlia as a gigantic black figure burst out of the ground and roared.
  • Anlia stared at the creature in shock while Moss recognized it as resembling Ruotuo from the game, though it was much larger.

Ch. 149The Earthshaking Giant Beast

Moss and Anlia survived the collapse of a mountain and the attack of a gigantic beast through Moss’s gravity powers and Anlia’s quick thinking. They identified the beast as an enormous Rockscale Dragon, and Moss became interested in the Boundary God Cult’s research records.

  • As the mountain collapsed beneath them, Moss used gravity magic to halt their fall and suspend the falling debris, while Anlia searched for her.
  • Moss caught Anlia after Molly appeared in her arms, but a giant tail struck Moss’s hand and knocked them downward.
  • Anlia threw her Pitfall Trap Stick through the mountainside to make a tunnel, and Moss completed her Flight talent and upgraded Gravity Manipulation to Gravity Control.
  • Moss stopped their descent just above the ground, but the giant beast’s impact buried the area in a basin of rubble and sent them flying to safety.
  • On a mountain five kilometers away, Anlia checked Moss’s healed hand, and the two realized the beast had not deliberately targeted them.
  • Anlia identified the enormous creature as a Rockscale Dragon, and Moss wondered whether she could obtain records from the Boundary God Cult.

Ch. 150Sudden Assault

After discussing the Rockscale Dragon’s strengths, Moss and Anlia began heading back to meet Lina and the others, but Aster of the Boundary God Cult ambushed them and blasted off Anlia’s arm. Aster revealed that Moss had helped his team recover an escaped Experiment Subject, leaving Moss and the wounded Anlia facing him.

  • Anlia explained that the Rockscale Dragon’s size and defenses made its usual weaknesses nearly useless, while Moss estimated it was City Slayer-grade.
  • Moss and Anlia started down the mountain to reunite with Lina and the others as Anlia recovered from their near-death encounter.
  • A sudden attack shattered Anlia’s left arm, and Moss used Healing Spell to stop the bleeding.
  • Moss recognized the winged attacker as a member of the Boundary God Cult, and he introduced himself as Aster.
  • Aster accused Moss of helping his team find an escaped Experiment Subject and said they had successfully recovered it.
