Lin Bai saved Ji Qingqing before uncovering Ding Huo’s scheme to awaken Lord Yuanmo and the existence of the Demon Sect’s recruitment trial. On the second level, he fought the seven domains’ prodigies for the Puppet King’s offerings as the contest for the Demon Sect inheritance began.

• Lin Bai escaped Huo Fentian’s attack in the Flood Dragon Puppet lair, then joined Luo Quan in searching for Ji Qingqing.
• At Puppet Mountain, Lin Bai stopped Yue Rong from killing Ji Qingqing, killed Yue Rong and other attackers, and gave Ji Qingqing six thousand Tribute Red Pearls before leaving for the second level.
• Lin Bai followed Gu Yuan and Ding Huo’s group, discovered them manipulating the stars to form the Primal Demon Eye, and learned they were trying to awaken Lord Yuanmo.

• Jian Kong and six prodigies killed the eight-clawed Puppet King, but Lin Bai broke through their perimeter and swept up the scattered offerings despite their threats.
• Lin Yibing drew his saber and threatened to kill Lin Bai after Lin Bai claimed the pearls.

Lin Bai reached the ninth level and stood with his allies against Wu He and Shi Zhongxian’s Heaven’s Pride Alliance. After defeating several challengers and sparing Shi Jiamu, he returned to the plaza and challenged Wu He and Shi Zhongxian together.

• Lin Bai defeated Lin Yibing on the second level, then reached the sixth level and teamed up with Hu Qi to clear an ape-puppet lair before the Heavenly Crippled Four Brothers challenged them.
• Lin Bai and Hu Qi defeated the brothers’ attacks and agreed to face them again on the ninth level, where Lin Bai joined Yin Jiuling, Feng Wenjun, the Old Eccentric, and other martial artists gathering for the contest.
• Wu He and Shi Zhongxian formed the Heaven’s Pride Alliance, while Lin Bai and his allies formed the opposing Monster Alliance, and the Battle of Heaven’s Prides began.

Lin Bai survived the battles on Nine Heavens Primordial Ancestor Mountain, became the Demon Sect’s chosen disciple, and entered the Eastern Continent Academy. At the Welcoming Assembly, he learned the Southern Courtyard did not want him, then defeated Lan Feng and advanced to the Second Island.

• Lin Bai defeated Shi Zhongxian and Wu He, then overcame attacks from Ding Huo and the others, killed Ding Huo, and spared Lin Xiaoqing after she promised to return her original body.
• The other fighters concluded their battles, and Lin Bai and the wounded martial artists offered tributes to the Primal Ancestor Statue, which gave Lin Bai a blue-green gourd.
• Yu Wu secretly named Lin Bai the Demon Sect’s first orthodox disciple in fifty thousand years, marked his sea of consciousness, and warned him to hide his identity.
