Wumu was still chattering away, but when he realized Yin Xuege was not listening to his questions, the furious Wumu suddenly pressed his mouth to the air vent and let out a thunderous roar.

That wolf howl of "Awoo!" was like dozens of thunderbolts exploding at once. Airwaves rolled through the tunnel and spread to both sides. Segments of restraining runes on the tunnel walls lit up simultaneously, while the clatter and scrape of armored guards running at full speed came from afar.

Caught off guard, Yin Xuege saw stars dancing before his eyes from the wolf howl. A surge of blood rushed up from his chest and abdomen, already reaching his throat, but Yin Xuege forcibly held his breath and swallowed it back down. He staggered several steps backward before smashing headfirst into the wall behind him. Only then did he hear the entire cell humming like a reverberating bronze bell. The sound left all four of his limbs numb.

"Gaga!" Wumu laughed wildly in triumph. "Kid, now you know how formidable Lord Wumu is, don't you? Answer my questions obediently, or you'll have plenty more suffering ahead of you! Hahaha, Lord Wumu only used ten percent of his strength in that roar. If I used my full strength, you'd be finished!"

"If you used your full strength, you'd be dead!" A cold, merciless voice came from afar. Rapid footsteps drew near, and in the blink of an eye, a young man in a violet-blue robe, holding a silver-violet staff, arrived before Wumu's cell.

"Wumu, you brought this upon yourself!" The young man in violet snorted coldly and pressed his right hand against the cell door. A large burst of lightning suddenly shot from his hand, accompanied by piercing thunder as it blasted into Wumu's cell.

Wumu let out a shrill scream. His entire cell was engulfed in blinding lightning, and deafening explosions of heavenly thunder rang out continuously within. The faint smell of scorched fur drifted through the air. Wumu had still possessed the strength to howl and scream at first, but after the lightning's power continued for a quarter of an hour, he no longer had the strength to make a sound.

Yin Xuege watched Wumu suffer that brutal punishment through the air vent in horror. He noticed that the violet-robed young man's right hand was pressed against a protruding sphere on the cell door. The sphere, half a foot in diameter, was engraved with densely packed strange characters Yin Xuege did not recognize. The violet-robed young man was not especially powerful himself, but after being amplified by the characters on that sphere, the lightning he unleashed was enough to grievously injure Wumu.

After a quarter of an hour of flashing lightning and rumbling thunder, the slightly breathless violet-robed young man snorted and slowly withdrew his hand.

He barked a few reprimands at Wumu through the air vent, then turned to leave. But suddenly, he glanced at Yin Xuege, who was pressed against his own vent.

"You're the vampire child who was just sent here today? Wumu had been well-behaved for two months, yet the moment you arrived, he deliberately disrupted the order of Blood Prison. It seems you're no obedient thing either! You will be punished as well!"

Without giving Yin Xuege a chance to defend himself, the violet-robed young man likewise pressed one hand against the protruding sphere on Yin Xuege's cell door. Yin Xuege cursed furiously. Before his body could move away from the door, silver-blue lightning burst through his cell as well. Deep thunder roared up, and dozens of immensely powerful bolts of lightning crashed heavily onto him.

Yin Xuege's body convulsed violently. Wrapped in lightning, he felt as though his organs were being burned by fire. His body leaped more than a meter into the air beyond his control, then fell stiffly to the ground. The power of lightning ran rampant within him, crazily destroying his bodily functions. The extreme pain made Yin Xuege want to howl at the top of his lungs, yet no sound would come out.

Fortunately, the violet-robed young man had exhausted most of his strength while punishing Wumu, so Yin Xuege received only a light punishment. The rampaging lightning stopped in less than a second, but smoke was already rising from Yin Xuege's entire body, and he was completely paralyzed.

"Since Blood Prison was established, no one has ever escaped. No matter how remarkable you may have been outside! Once you come here, you must obey the rules we set!" The violet-robed young man raised his head proudly and snorted disdainfully. "Remember my name. I am Leitning, the great Son of the Thunder God! I will keep my eyes on you at all times!"

The heavy footsteps gradually faded away as Leitning slowly departed, surrounded by a group of heavily armored prison guards.

After an unknown amount of time, Wumu's strange laughter came from the cell opposite once again.

"Hey, kid, you're not dead, are you? Hey, are you still alive? Keep the great Lord Wumu company and chat with me?"

Yin Xuege lay on the ground resting for a long while before sensation gradually returned to his body. He slowly gathered a trace of strength and, with great difficulty, pushed himself up inch by inch. Staggering two steps through the cell, Yin Xuege lunged miserably toward the cell door and cursed through the air vent through gritted teeth, "You damned mangy dog! If you want to die, don't drag me down with you!"

Wumu gave a strange "Gaga" laugh, sounding incomparably delighted. "Such a little bit of lightning can't hurt me! I am the great Silver Wolf Commander Wumu, the strongest commander of the Silver Wolf Clan's new generation, Lord Wumu, who makes countless city-states of the Human Alliance tremble in fear!"

Yin Xuege stared at the wildly rolling green eye behind Wumu's air vent and spoke one word at a time with vicious malice. "Great Commander Wumu, you are now merely a prisoner beneath the steps. Please remember your status!"

Gripping the edge of the air vent tightly, Yin Xuege gritted his teeth and secretly swore that he would absolutely not spare that violet-robed youth called Leitning. Yin Xuege remembered him, and he also remembered Bright, Fennice, and the rest!

The first lesson Children's Hall taught the children of the Yin Clan was—an eye for an eye, blood for blood!

In the cell opposite, the listless Wumu was provoked by Yin Xuege into letting out a low growl. He slammed his fist against the cell door and began cursing under his breath through gritted teeth. His voice was low and his words came fast, so Yin Xuege had no idea what he was cursing about.

After cursing for an unknown length of time, Wumu's mood suddenly improved again. He switched to another eye, which spun as it examined Yin Xuege through the air vent. Smiling brightly, he asked, "Kid, which Lineage are you from? You don't know who your father is, but you must know who your mother is, right?"

"Anyway, once you enter Blood Prison, there's no hope of escaping. Since everyone is idle, wouldn't it be nice to chat?"

Yin Xuege sighed helplessly. He glanced at Wumu, then helplessly gave his background.

"I am Yin Xuege of the Yin Clan. As for my mother... if I remember correctly, her name was Yin Huangwu?"

Wumu sharply sucked in a breath. "Yin Huangwu? That lunatic woman?"

Heavy footsteps sounded out, followed by Leitning's shrill voice. "The little fellow sent in just now is awake. Drag him out and send him to Interrogation Room Nine! Hurry, the Grand Arbiters are about to arrive."
