The gravity came without warning. Hen and Cosmo were caught off guard and immediately fell to their knees. Kevin, however, with his superhuman physique, and Huang Hao, who had been accustomed to gravity for a long time (thanks to Angela's training), were not significantly affected.
The surrounding buildings were not so lucky, collapsing directly.
Huang Hao watched this scene nervously and asked Kevin, "Have all the civilians here evacuated?!"
Kevin observed the surroundings with a bitter expression. "We heard it was the mainland, so... so."
Huang Hao realized what he meant, and his heart sank. Angrily, he roared, "So what? Spit it out!"
Kevin slowly replied, "We gathered the people... gathered them at sea. Calm down, and also..."
"Calm the hell down!" Huang Hao punched Kevin directly in the face.
Kevin stumbled back a few steps from the punch but said nothing, just looking at Huang Hao, letting him vent his anger.
Hen and Cosmo rushed forward and grabbed Huang Hao. "Calm down! The gravity is still weak now, we still have a chance!"
Huang Hao heard them and muttered to himself, "Chance, chance... Right! There's still a chance!"
"Where! Tell me quickly!"
Hen: "It's nearby, head that way."
Huang Hao looked in that direction and charged forward with the other three to rescue the civilians.
On the way, Huang Hao kept cursing, "How many times have I told you there would be a Herrscher here, and an unprecedented crisis! What's going on on your end? Kevin, weren't you the captain? What were you thinking putting them at sea?"
The others remained silent, not saying anything, but their expressions were grim.
"Wait, are you guys feeling the gravity getting heavier?" Cosmo suddenly said.
Hen: "Yes, and it's getting heavier."
Kevin realized something. "This direction is where the civilians were. The gravity is increasing, which means someone is using it. There was a Honkai outbreak earlier, so does that mean the Herrscher is..."
Kevin didn't finish, but the others understood his meaning. Yet, no one spoke.
Soon, the four arrived at the location where the civilians were supposed to be.
However, there was nothing on the sea. The four of them looked out of place in the vast, desolate expanse. A deathly silence hung in the air, mingled with the smell of blood.
Huang Hao shouted, "Where are the people? I'm asking you, where are they?"
Hen checked the map in his hand and replied, "It's correct, this is the place."
Huang Hao: "Then where are the people? Don't tell me there's no one on this mainland?"
Everyone fell silent. It was Kevin who broke the silence first. "Everyone... prepare for the worst."
This time, Huang Hao said nothing. He just walked towards the seabed.
Huang Hao: "I'm sorry, I was impulsive earlier. You guys stay up here, I'll go."
Kevin nodded. Hen and Cosmo also stood with Kevin, seemingly in agreement.
After confirming their agreement, Huang Hao went straight down.
Huang Hao descended underwater, slowly sinking. It was pitch black around him, but he felt a sticky sensation as he went down.
Huang Hao reached the lowest point and looked around. It was a black void, and he couldn't see anything.
Huang Hao thought to himself, It's pitch black and sticky all around, I need to find a way to illuminate the area.
Suddenly, Huang Hao remembered Angela. "Right, with An'er here, what do I have to fear?"
He then asked Angela in his mind, "An'er, can you illuminate the seabed?"
Angela immediately responded, "Father, just release your energy and solidify it."
Huang Hao: "Energy? What energy?"
Angela: "I've been studying this flame. I found it's directly connected to your blood, fulfilling the old Chinese saying, it's in your bones."
Huang Hao: "Then why was it flames at first?"
Angela paused. "Perhaps it was the deepest impression you had at the time."
Huang Hao: "I have more questions, but this is more important. Let's talk later."
After speaking, Huang Hao cut off their mental connection.
Angela looked speechlessly at the disconnected call. He calls me when he needs something, and disappears when he doesn't... Honestly...
On Huang Hao's end, he quickly condensed a night light. "Great, now I can finally see my surroundings."
Huang Hao channeled energy into his hand, and with the successful transmission of energy, he could see his surroundings.
Huang Hao: "I need to hurry and save..."
As soon as he opened his eyes, Huang Hao was stunned by the sight before him.
Everywhere were severed limbs and broken bodies. Due to the gravity, the seabed was filled with blood, creating a "bloody sea." Many tattered remains were scattered here, turning the place into hell.
Huang Hao was so shocked by the scene that he couldn't speak. He felt dizzy and weak, almost collapsing to his knees on the seabed due to the gravity.
"Why, why, why why why why why!"
Huang Hao was in immense pain internally, wanting to shout loudly, but seawater filled his mouth, silencing him.
Huang Hao's eyes were vacant as he slowly swam over.
The trio on shore waited anxiously. Seeing Huang Hao approach, they immediately rushed over to ask what happened.
Huang Hao was absentminded to their questions, only muttering, "Dead, they're all dead, all dead."
Everyone knew the situation and felt terrible. Silence fell upon them.
Kevin broke the heavy atmosphere once more, saying, "Now is not the time for us to space out. We should go find the Herrscher, report to those above, and find the remaining people."
Everyone nodded after he spoke, except for Huang Hao, who was still lost in thought.
Kevin walked over but didn't touch Huang Hao, afraid of him getting frostbite. "This isn't your fault. It's ours. If we had all listened to you, perhaps no one would have died. Now, we need to find the Herrscher and minimize casualties."
Upon hearing the word "Herrscher," Huang Hao snapped back to reality and said calmly, "Right, find the Herrscher and face this damned reality."
"I once thought I could save everyone. Now I realize I was too idealistic. My grand plan probably won't come to fruition either."
Kevin: "What grand plan?"
Huang Hao: "A plan to let anyone start over again."
"After experiencing this, I've suddenly become calm. Alright, it's time."
Kevin looked at Huang Hao, wondering if he had gone mad from witnessing such heavy casualties.
Huang Hao suddenly said again, "I didn't expect these casualties, but it doesn't matter."
"I, Huang Hao, will personally bury this Herrscher."
