The arrow grew larger as Pardo concentrated, radiating a wild aura. When she released it, it shot forward.
Instantly, the sea was churned up, parting to the sides. The scattered power slammed against the surroundings, blurring everything. Along the way, it encountered a barrier, but one that usually offered no resistance for even a second. Though she didn't see it shatter, a crisp sound reached her.
Pardo saw that it was successful, but didn't feel any different. Worried that something else might have gone wrong, she quickly asked Huang Hao, "Did we succeed?"
Slowly, Huang Hao's weak voice came through, "We succeeded..."
Hearing the word "succeeded," Pardo finally let out a sigh of relief. She then turned her attention back to Huang Hao, "Are you okay, Senior? You sound so tired?"
"..."
"Don't you know whose power you're using?"
Pardo pouted playfully, trying to avoid the awkwardness. She then turned and said, "As long as we hit this one arrow, we win, right!"
Looking at Pardo's expectant eyes, sparkling with anticipation, Huang Hao didn't want to crush her spirit, but he had to tell her the truth. "No, we didn't. To minimize casualties, this arrow was fired too early."
"Ah? Then what about everyone else?"
"I thought about the first arrow for five years. The second arrow, I only thought about for a moment."
On the Herrscher's side, there weren't many warriors left, basically only half of the original number.
Kevin watched the dwindling number of warriors and the teammates who couldn't join the battle due to hasty preparations, finding himself in a difficult dilemma.
"Damn it!"
Kevin cursed and immediately charged forward with the warriors, but they were quickly repelled. While his defense was incredibly strong, his teammates beside him were not. They lacked his talent and the protagonist's halo, essentially just serving to charge up the Herrscher's domain.
Hua, after clearing the Honkai beasts around them, also arrived beside Kevin, ensuring his safety and speaking, "Do we have to sacrifice all our teammates..."
Kevin nodded, and in the process, eliminated a group of MANTISes.
Seeing Kevin's continued persistence, Hua said no more. They cooperated with tacit understanding, reducing the pressure and fighting against the Herrscher.
Just then, Kevin sensed a powerful threat flying in from afar. The power felt incredibly familiar, yet terrifying.
Kevin ignored the MANTISes beside him, leaped up, and rolled, pulling Hua onto himself. He raised Skyfire, preparing to defend.
Hua didn't react at first, surprised by Kevin's sudden move. Just as she was about to speak, she felt an immense pressure from above, pinning her so she couldn't utter a word.
Before they could get up, an explosion sounded. When the commotion died down, the two finally stood up.
Hua spoke first, "What was that?"
"It must be him. Only he has such power right now. After all, Huang Hao's plan was also to fire this arrow to slay the Herrscher."
Kevin replied to Hua while vigilantly observing the Herrscher in the dust cloud after the explosion, to see if she was still alive.
"But wasn't the plan for us to weaken the Herrscher first?"
"Yes. He was too hasty. The next part is up to us."
Kevin calmly answered Hua, then picked up Skyfire, assuming a combat stance. Hua also held her Divine Key, on alert. After the power of the arrow subsided, the Herrscher quickly charged out again...
Back on their side, Pardo pressed on, "Then what do we do now? What about the rest?"
Huang Hao didn't answer immediately. Instead, he asked her, "Do you feel any discomfort in your body?"
Pardo was taken aback for a moment, then quickly replied, "No."
"Did you remember the movements and methods from just now?"
"I remembered."
"Very well. Let's do it again. This time, I won't be able to guide you."
After Huang Hao's weak voice faded, Pardo felt power surge into her once more, and the black space slowly began to shrink.
"Listen, I won't remind you this time. Don't get the position wrong..." This sentence was drawn out, his voice growing weaker until it finally disappeared.
"Senior! What's wrong, Senior!" Pardo struck a pose while anxiously asking about Huang Hao's condition, but there was no response.
Pardo had a premonition that Huang Hao was gone. With tears welling up, she forced herself to prepare for the final arrow.
