The second arrow was shot, its power no less than the first, perhaps even slightly superior. Angela was channeling her power within space; this arrow could change the outcome, or rather, the outcome had already been decided.
On Kevin's side, he was fighting a severely weakened Herrscher, but he was still no match for it. Hua had been looking for opportunities to use Feather of Dust to try and control it. Elysia and Qian Jie had also arrived.
"Qian Jie? How did you get here?"
"It's me, Su. I just got his permission."
After confirming each other, they began to clear a path for them, surrounding the Herrscher. The Fusion Warriors from all sides also started to try and encircle the Herrscher.
However, even though the Herrscher was heavily injured, its power remained immense. Everyone attacked, but they still couldn't contain it, and instead, they lost many members. Hua was also severely injured due to the backlash.
"I'll take you away first." Qian Jie (Su), who was already unaccustomed to the battlefield, retreated, carrying Hua, intending to take her away. But Hua struggled and still rushed towards the battlefield, turning back to say firmly, "There's still a chance. If I use Feather of Dust at its maximum power, maybe I can pull it into an illusion."
Su knew he couldn't persuade her, so he looked at his teammates beside him and nodded in understanding, beginning to cover Hua's advance.
Sandstorms raged around them; the surrounding city had long since turned to dust, becoming a desolate wasteland. Su, Hua, Kevin, and Elysia were at the forefront, while all the other members surrounded them from the sides, barely blocking the attacks to allow the main targets to reach the Herrscher.
Su found an opportunity and used Qian Jie's fire to charge in front of the Herrscher, instantly engulfing it, but deliberately controlling the range so everyone knew the Herrscher's location.
Kevin understood his old friend's intention and directly raised Skyfire. Elysia and Hua, beside him, also rushed out from his side. Elysia, while Su's suppression was still active, directly deployed crystals to pin the Herrscher down. Hua also unleashed Feather of Dust, instantly erupting with immense power.
Just as everyone thought they were about to succeed, the Herrscher went berserk, sending those around it flying and breaking free from the restraints. It pointed at Hua, who suddenly felt her strength drain. Before she could even activate her burning memories, she collapsed.
Kevin noticed this and was about to lower Skyfire when he felt that familiar power again.
"Opportunity!"
The word flashed through Kevin's mind. Without hesitation, he raised Skyfire again, charging it up and shouting those inspiring words: "Skyfire! Draw!"
As he uttered those words, a strong gust of wind swept past Kevin's ear. The arrow had finally arrived. The Herrscher couldn't dodge it, and was directly hit by the second arrow. At the same time, Kevin's Skyfire emitted a blinding light, unleashing its incredible strike.
The Herrscher was hit simultaneously, emitting a dazzling white light that engulfed everyone. The smell of blood was gone, the sand stopped flying, and everything suddenly fell silent, as if nothing had ever happened.
After a long time, the cheat-like man, Kevin, was the first to wake up. His first reaction was to survey his surroundings. His teammates were all unconscious. Kevin went up to test their equipment; thankfully, they were alive.
But Kevin didn't feel happy about this. He remained vigilant, as no one knew if the Herrscher was still alive. When he reached the center of the explosion, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
The Herrscher was a bloody mess. Its heart area on the right side was a gaping hole, its eyes were vacant, its right arm was gone, and it lay broken on the ground, still struggling.
"Rest in peace. It wasn't your fault for becoming a Herrscher."
After Kevin's prayer, he used his last ounce of strength to twist off the Herrscher's head, then slumped to the ground, looking around.
His teammates weren't much better off. Although they hadn't been reduced to the 13 survivors predicted, the casualties were still heavy.
Kevin remembered when he was with the Herrscher of Death, it was the same. Sadly, miracles would never happen again...
Or would they?
