Background / History

Early Primordial Era

Fuxi and his younger sister Nuwa took form at Buzhou Mountain. Highly protective of her, he repeatedly warned her against leaving the mountain and intervened in conflicts chiefly because he feared she would be harmed. He and Houtu helped prevent Nuwa's confrontation with the Twelve Ancestor Witches from escalating into battle. 2 6

His protective instincts often became possessiveness. Fuxi distrusted Bai Chen from the beginning, dismissed his knowledge of the Primordial Era, and resented Nuwa's growing affection for him. When an opportunity appeared in the western Primordial Era, Fuxi was tempted to seek it despite the danger; Nuwa's reprimand forced him to recognize that desire had clouded his judgment. 8

Xi Huang of the Demon Clan

Di Jun recruited Fuxi into the Demon Clan by offering him the title of Xi Huang. As a late Quasi-Saint who had severed two corpses and Nuwa's elder brother, Fuxi stood above the Ten Great Demon Sages and on equal footing with Di Jun and Eastern Emperor Taiyi. He also promised to help persuade Nuwa to join the faction. 107

Fuxi's alliance with the Demon Clan strained his relationship with Nuwa and damaged his standing among her retainers. The Phoenix Clan refused to admit him into Phoenix Perch Mountain while he travelled with the Demon Clan, stressing that they served Nuwa rather than him. 108

Punishment, Karmic Debt, and Reincarnation

Fuxi supported the Demon Clan's plan to slaughter humans and falsely conveyed Nuwa's decree to secure the Grand Pure One Laozi's approval. Nuwa publicly punished him, while Laozi held him accountable for deceiving both Nuwa and a Saint. 345 359

Nuwa stripped Fuxi's Good and Evil Two Corpses, reducing him to a Half-Quasi-Saint. Bai Chen then scattered his Five Qi in the Chest, causing a further decline to half-step Taiyi Golden Immortal. 358 360

The karmic backlash from the human slaughter later threatened Fuxi's life. Bai Chen used the Kongtong Seal to temporarily stabilize the backlash through the Human Race's destiny. 411 412

Nuwa eventually dissolved Fuxi's Innate Deity body, sealed his divinity within his Primordial Spirit True Spirit, and sent him into Huaxu's womb without passing through the Six Paths of Reincarnation. He was reborn as the human Feng Fuxi. 425 434

Rise Among Humanity

Under Yuan Feng's instruction and Bai Chen's harsh practical lessons, Fuxi grew beyond theory-driven cultivation and learned to address the Human Race's immediate needs. He succeeded Huaxu as leader of the Feng Clan Tribe, whose influence expanded until surrounding tribes submitted to him. 449 450

Fuxi improved fire-making and ember preservation, invented pottery and ceramic vessels, experimented with crude metalworking, opened the beginning of agriculture, created the Fuxi Nine Needles, and made the five-string zither. 450

After the Three Ancestors of the Human Race withdrew into seclusion, Fuxi became the Human Race's Co-Lord. Yuan Feng later delivered the Hetu to him through the Dragon Horse. 451 452

Human Emperor and Fire Cloud Palace

By comprehending the Hetu, Fuxi created the Innate Eight Trigrams and broke Nuwa's shackles on his divine soul, restoring his memories as the former Xi Huang. He immediately regretted his involvement in the Demon Clan's slaughter of humans. 452

When Houtu exposed his past to the Human Race, Fuxi admitted his responsibility and vowed to guard humanity's fortune from Fire Cloud Palace after a successor appeared. Bai Chen used the Kongtong Seal to enfeoff him as Human Emperor, granting him the Human Emperor Dao Fruit. 453 454

After witnessing the birth of the future Earth Emperor, Lie Shan Shi, Fuxi fulfilled his vow and entered Fire Cloud Palace, leaving the Human Race to its next era. 464
