Great Yin Mystic Light
"This Moon Lake Reflecting Autumn Art was once an art passed down by the Immortal Mansion. It is exceedingly wondrous and requires two kinds of heaven-and-earth spiritual qi. One is called Grand Yin Moonlight, and the other Lake Golden Autumn. The sect has some reserves of Lake Golden Autumn, but as for Grand Yin Moonlight, it has not been seen for several hundred years since the Immortal Mansion withdrew from the world."
"The Moon Lake Peak Lord of several centuries ago only cultivated this art after accidentally receiving a reward from the Immortal Mansion. Since his death, no one has been able to master it."
Li Chijing had also heard of the Immortal Mansion. It was said to be a colossal power spanning several nations, but it had not appeared in the Present World for centuries. He sighed softly to himself, then nodded and said in thanks:
"So that's how it is. Thank you for clearing up my doubts, Senior Brother!"
Lu Jiangxian's Spiritual Sense extended out from the mirror's surface as he watched the child performing the "Guidance Method."
A faint, indistinct white glow emerged above the boy's head. It was about seven inches long and gave off a slight radiance.
"This child's compatibility with the Mystic Pearl Talisman Seed is fairly good. I just don't know what his aptitude for cultivation is like."
Lu Jiangxian withdrew his Spiritual Sense from Li Xuanxuan. His heart suddenly surged, and his vision blurred as though a pure white jade disc had appeared before him. At once, he understood:
"That child Li Chijing has broken through to the Jade Capital Wheel!"
A mysterious, unfathomable power traveled across thousands of miles through the connection between the Mystic Pearl Talisman Seeds and gently entered the blue-gray Mirror Fragment atop the Stone Platform. Lu Jiangxian felt his soul lighten, and a moon-white stream of light emerged.
When Li Tongya and Li Xiangping had broken through before, a tiny amount of power had fed back into Lu Jiangxian's mirror. Together with Li Chijing's many breakthroughs, the feedback from his advance into the Jade Capital Wheel finally allowed Lu Jiangxian to condense the Great Yin Mystic Light.
"This Mystic Light roughly carries the force of a full-strength strike from a Jade Capital Wheel cultivator, but its range is enormous—even greater than the area covered by my current Spiritual Sense."
Having cultivated this Mystic Light, Lu Jiangxian's Spiritual Sense range had expanded to encompass the entirety of Li Jing Village. He was overjoyed. His Mirror Body grew faintly warm, and that vague sensation of attraction surfaced in his heart once more.
"My Spiritual Sense range has expanded. I can sense things farther away now!"
Lu Jiangxian carefully felt out the direction and pondered, "It still seems to be above Moon Gazing Lake, only much farther away than before. Should I signal the Li Clan to go take a look?"
"No."
Lu Jiangxian's heart tightened as he thought to himself, "Judging by the location, it seems to be in the market city on that lake. Better wait until the two Li brothers have cultivated the Jade Capital Wheel before investigating."
The door creaked open, and Li Mutian and the two Li brothers entered the room. Li Xiangping patted Li Xuanxuan on the shoulder and asked solemnly:
"Are you ready?"
"I'm ready!"
Li Xuanxuan nodded forcefully and handed the Wooden Slip back to Li Xiangping.
Li Mutian watched Li Xiangping put away the Wooden Slip before respectfully inviting the Mirror Fragment onto the table and arranging several sticks of incense before it.
"Li Clan disciple Li Xuanxuan respectfully beseeches the Mystic Profound Wonderful Method: Governing Fate and Pacifying Spirits, adhering to Dao in cultivation."
"Let merit be spoken of in due time; let no trust be betrayed. Follow the register and burn away; this body gives thanks to Greater Yin."
The instant Li Xuanxuan finished speaking, Lu Jiangxian activated the art. Colored Light shimmered across the Mirror Fragment's surface, swelling and receding like breath before it abruptly spat out a White Pill.
Li Xuanxuan hurriedly sat cross-legged and guided the art to receive the Talisman Seed.
"Liu Rouxuan reached the Profound Scene Wheel last night. In a few more months, Xuan Xuan will reach the Profound Scene Wheel as well. Counting it this way, our Li Clan will soon have six immortals cultivators."
Li Tongya looked at Li Xuanxuan on the ground, turned, and shut the door more tightly as he spoke softly.
"Two Circulating Movement Wheels, three Profound Scene Wheels. Jing'er should already have reached the Jade Capital Wheel in the immortal sect."
Li Xiangping looked at the blue-gray Mirror Fragment on the table, overflowing with Colored Light, and continued, "Our Li Clan still lacks immortals cultivators with higher cultivation. Not to mention Ji Dengqi at the Qi Refinement Realm, even the neighboring Wan Family has cultivators at the peak of the Jade Capital Wheel."
"Only Jade Capital Wheel cultivators develop Spiritual Sense. Only then can they refine pills, forge artifacts, set formations, use Storage Bags, and safely enter and leave the market city."
As Lu Jiangxian listened to their conversation, his Spiritual Sense suddenly stirred. He faintly sensed an unfamiliar Aura approaching from the west, wandering back and forth nearby.
Lu Jiangxian's perception was divided into two layers. The first was called Vision Sense. Its coverage was immense, able to vaguely encompass the entire Li Clan territory from Li Chuankou to Li Daokou. This Vision Sense was akin to a mortal's "sight"; it could only observe and perceive a general image. Its advantage was that such observation was usually undetectable. Even Si Yuanbai of the Foundation Establishment Realm had failed to notice him watching back then.
The other layer was Spiritual Sense, which could roughly cover Li Jing Village. It was like a mortal's "touch." Within this range, Lu Jiangxian could scan an entire person with his Spiritual Sense, but depending on the difference in strength, the other party would feel a very obvious sense of being watched. Likewise, within the range of his Spiritual Sense, he could use the Great Yin Mystic Light to strike enemies.
Now, his Vision Sense detected that the Aura possessed roughly the strength of the Jade Capital Wheel. It was skulking around near Li Chuankou. Unease rose in his heart as he thought to himself, "Why is a cultivator with Jade Capital Wheel cultivation wandering around here... I should warn the Li Clan."
At that thought, silver-white moonlight burst from the mirror's surface and gathered into strands of moon-white thread, condensing in the air.
This change greatly startled Li Tongya and the others. Seeing the silver light continuously gather overhead, they could not help looking at one another.
Li Mutian narrowed his eyes and said in a deep voice, "Don't panic. Look carefully first."
"It seems to be a map of our Li Clan."
Li Tongya stroked his chin and spoke with some hesitation.
The moonlight gradually condensed into a bright white map. Li Chuan, Li Dao, Jingyang, and the other villages were all present, exquisitely detailed. Only the area of Li Chuankou kept flashing with silver light.
"Li Chuankou?"
Li Xiangping muttered.
Chen Erniu had managed affairs at Li Chuankou for several years. He had put on a round of weight and grown a beard along his chin, finally no longer looking like a farmer.
After settling the day's field accounts and mediating the dispute between two brothers fighting over farmland, he happily sprawled onto his bed and began considering tomorrow's itinerary.
"The plots in the eastern part of the village are fairly good. Tomorrow, I'll send some men to reclaim them and seize a few more fields."
Li Chuankou and Li Daokou lay right next to each other. Unlike the other pair of adjacent villages, Li Jing Village and Jingyang Village, which had a superior-subordinate relationship in administration, there was naturally no one to rely on but himself, the steward, to fight for every matter with reason.
Xu Wenshan had wanted to open up a trade route, but who would have thought that the Wan Family was nearly handing even Gu Li Road over to the Ji Family? There was naturally no road to the east. It had angered the man so badly that he had been irritable for months, picking fights with Chen Erniu over everything.
"What a nuisance."
Just as he was thinking this, Chen Erniu heard a commotion outside. His eldest son rushed in, frantic and flustered, and opened his mouth to shout, "Something terrible has happened! Father! Someone has died at the village entrance!"
Chen Erniu leapt from the bed in alarm. "What?"
Yesterday, the novel got recommended, and it received a lot more traffic. Many people came to support it and offer suggestions. Thank you, everyone!
Although this is a special period and the app shows that all comments have been deleted, the author's backend can still see them. Many people wanted to see more of protagonist Lu Jiangxian.
I spent all night looking over the outline. It really was true that the protagonist had too little screen time before several of his upgrades. Though this is a clan cultivation story, I spent a long time revising the outline today, making adjustments to some later content and bringing it forward a little. Please give me a few more chapters of time. I'm a new writer, and I chose the difficult path of an ensemble story, so the pressure is truly mountain-sized, haha.
Thank you all for your favorites and votes. Your support and suggestions are very important to me! Though it is hard to satisfy every palate, I will do my best to find a balance between the Li Clan members and Lu Jiangxian. Lastly, regarding typos, thank you very much to those who point them out. I will check every comment that mentions one!
I spent all day revising the outline, so today's second chapter may be a little late—or perhaps there will be three chapters tomorrow.
