Background / History
The historical Zhang Kuang came from a farming family and rose from Cangming Star’s lowest social strata. He later received the Sword Head’s inheritance, but chose to wield a gun rather than a sword because of his experiences with poverty and sects that would not listen to reason. 158 188
In pursuit of stronger opponents, Zhang Kuang spread the Sword Head’s inheritance, creating a hundred Sage Sons and igniting Cangming Star’s era of competing schools. He ultimately unified Cangming, establishing the Blood Lotus Imperial Dynasty while searching for the Sword Head for a decisive battle. Those Hundred Sons who did not submit became his henchmen or were killed. 188 189 215
The Demonic Son later revealed that the Zhang Kuang who crossed the spacetime wormhole had already perished. The being that arrived on Earth was Zhang Kuang’s destined Spirit Weapon, which continued to bear the Demonic Son identity and memories associated with its master. 269
Appearance
The Demonic Son normally manifests as a handsome young man with a heroic build, red hair, and blood-red eyes. His unsettling smiles and black-and-red Fierce Fire make his presence more intimidating than his youthful appearance suggests. 151 183 224
- Shoulder-length red hair resembling blood-stained spear tassels 264
- Crimson eyes and a frequent, unnerving grin 146 151
- Usually appears in casual clothing or Caolu Academy attire 144 183
- Often accompanied by a distorted demon-god phantom and black-and-red flames 224
- True body is a plain metal spear surrounded by his red-haired humanoid phantom 269
- States that his hair was originally meant to be black, linking his red hair to his spear nature 269
Personality
The Demonic Son is carefree, impulsive, and driven by the pleasure of battle. He does not seek political power for its own sake; his unification of Cangming Star was primarily tied to his desire to find opponents worthy of fighting him, especially the Sword Head. 189 190
He is brutally decisive toward enemies and takes visible enjoyment in combat, destruction, and the fear he inspires. Nevertheless, he does not habitually bully the weak, treats younger Earthlings with unusual tolerance, and can show gratitude or concern for allies. 256 264 285
Despite his title, he considers “Demonic Son” a wrongly acquired label and claims that he is a good person. 151
Abilities & Skills
Divine Weapon Physiology
The Demonic Son’s humanoid body is a manifestation of a sentient spear. His divine-weapon nature grants extraordinary resilience and allows him to take on a more powerful spear form. 269 272
- Remains unharmed after combined attacks from more than ten Eternal Civilization Title Holders 263 264
- Withstands the Seven-Colored Magic Cube’s soul-targeting beams without injury 229
- Endures the effects of hundredfold gravity that incapacitate ordinary Earth combatants 269 271
- His spear form is stated to be more terrifying than his humanoid manifestation 272
Ferocious Physique
His physical strength, speed, and durability are sufficient to overwhelm advanced alien combatants through direct force. 148 264
- Seized a thirty-meter flesh-armor giant by the head and carried it into the sky while remaining under two meters tall 148
- A single roar halted hundreds of Eternal Civilization mechs 263 264
- Broke through defensive barriers, destroyed tower shields, and killed “Absolute Defense” in close combat 264
- Pursued fleeing opponents faster than they could escape through conventional means 230
Fierce Fire and Devouring
The Demonic Son wields black-and-red Fierce Fire that burns, refines, and consumes enemies, attacks, and energy. 216 218
- Inhaled and absorbed a destructive “little sun” attack before it could detonate over Caolu Academy 215
- Severed the Dao Pursuer’s arms, burned them with Fierce Fire, and absorbed the refined remains into himself 216
- Converts poison, energy bombardment, mechanical crushing, flooding, and lightning into nourishment during battle 218
- Incinerated BE6651 completely, preventing any possibility of survival 225
Soul Destruction
The Demonic Son can use Martial Way will and Fierce Fire to damage or shatter souls, causing true death even to beings capable of changing bodies through consciousness transfer. 189 191
- Can permanently annihilate White Hyena aliens by destroying their spiritual bodies 189
- Terrified AQ3399 by explaining that he could shatter its soul rather than merely destroy its current body 191
- Pulverizes both the bodies and souls of enemies who confront him during the Eternal Civilization expedition 256
Elemental Control and Sword Rhyme
He can manifest and control the five elements, though he regards elemental manipulation as inferior to a true Spirit Weapon. 188
- Demonstrated metal, wood, water, fire, and earth manipulation at Caolu Academy 188
- Condensed a suspended ocean and generated large-scale flames with spoken commands 188
- Restored terrain damaged by his elemental display 188
- Sensed the Sword Head’s residual Sword Rhyme and replicated it into a Spirit Sword 187
Emotional Manipulation
During AQ3399’s interrogation, the Demonic Son appeared able to intensify specific emotions, drawing out resentment until the captive willingly supplied intelligence against the Eternal Civilization. 192
- Exploited AQ3399’s despair, resentment, and perceived betrayal 192
- Turned AQ3399’s desire for self-preservation into a desire to retaliate against fellow Eternals 192
