Battle in Progress, Selari
The attacks came without pause, accompanied by dull thuds.
Fists and kicks collided as the battlefield constantly shifted.
The situation was completely one-sided. There was no doubt that Talot, using only 360 points of Battle Power, was being relentlessly beaten back by Raditz, who had 550 points.
He was repeatedly driven into desperate situations, only for Talot to turn the tide at critical moments.
In a real fight, he could reflect on his past training and the application of his various techniques, keeping what worked and discarding unnecessary movements.
As the battle deepened, Talot gradually entered a state of self-forgetfulness.
Though he had only been defending against Raditz's attacks, it had also made him understand the joy of fighting.
No wonder Saiyans were all battle fanatics. Fighting made a Saiyan's blood boil, filling them with the desire to grow stronger and experience the thrill brought by even greater power.
"I can't believe you blocked even that. Looks like you haven't just been wasting your time after all. You've been training in private, haven't you?" Raditz maintained his offensive as he spoke with a grin.
His voice was laced with provocation.
He had thought that using this much strength would be enough to defeat Talot, but Talot had somehow remained undefeated.
"Of course I haven't been wasting my time. Take this!" Talot curled his lips into a smile. The next second, his body turned into an afterimage, then split into several afterimages in a short span of time, surrounding Raditz.
Afterimage Fist! Of course, this was not the Afterimage Fist from Master Roshi's School in the original story, merely something similar.
Drawing on his understanding and improvements of the move, Talot had developed it into an effect similar to the Super-Speed Shadow Clone.
Raditz was slightly surprised. At the speed Talot displayed with this technique, even he could not locate the real body.
"So you developed this move to save your own skin? If all you can do is dodge, you're no qualified warrior!" Raditz's eyes darted from side to side as he tried to find an opening.
Talot's voice echoed around his ears, leaving him unable to determine its direction. "Any technique depends on how it's used. This move of mine isn't just for escaping and dodging."
"Cheap tricks! If I can't find your real body, I'll just destroy every afterimage you've created first." Raditz's decisiveness earned Talot's admiration.
Raditz immediately launched an attack. In only a few moments, he had punched through more than a dozen afterimages Talot had created.
"Found you!" Though a certain number of afterimages remained, Raditz seemed to have located Talot as he attacked them.
What he did not know was that this was merely an opening Talot had deliberately created.
As Raditz shattered one of the afterimages with a punch, all the afterimages seemed to vanish. Yet his fist had not struck anything solid.
"Not good!" Sensing something strange, Raditz instinctively looked up.
"Take this!" A flying kick descended from above.
Raditz raised an arm to block it, but the tremendous force still sent him flying. He was knocked back more than ten meters before regaining his balance with a series of backflips.
"Since your strength is inferior to mine, you used the speed of falling from the air to increase your power. You're pretty quick-witted." Raditz shook his aching arm as he spoke.
Most people would surely have been displeased by such a critical tone.
But Talot was not. He had hidden his strength from the start, so no matter what Raditz said, he remained calm.
"That's why I said fighting isn't just about brute strength." Talot casually replied, then his presence changed dramatically. Like a tiger descending from the mountains, he charged at Raditz.
Spurred on by Talot's fighting spirit, Raditz's own battle intent surged.
Driven by his competitive nature, he drew on even greater strength.
Their fight entered its most intense stage.
The battle grew fiercer and fiercer.
At this moment, neither of the two fighters knew that their battle had drawn quite a crowd of onlookers, all of whom were offering their own comments.
Among them was a strikingly beautiful girl with a valiant air about her.
Her name was Selari, and like Talot and Raditz, she was five years old.
However, because her Battle Power was only 100 points, she was a Low-Class Warrior.
Of course, because she possessed that much Battle Power, she had not been treated as disposable and sent out to conquer planets from childhood. Instead, she had remained with her parents as she grew up.
She and Talot could be considered childhood sweethearts.
But Talot had been reborn as an adult, so he felt nothing of the sort.
Raditz is so annoying. The moment he gets back, he has to show off his strength and bully Brother Talot.
Selari did not like Raditz.
There was no other reason. Ever since they were young, Raditz had always acted high and mighty.
Especially after he began following Prince Vegeta, it had become even more obvious.
Elsewhere.
Bardock was naturally also watching the battle!
Having learned that the two were fighting, he had cut short his bath and hurried out to see what was happening.
Even for a powerful warrior of his level, a childish fight like this was not particularly interesting. But this was a battle between his son and his nephew Talot.
"That kid... even I underestimated him. With only 360 points of Battle Power, he can bring out this kind of strength." Bardock could not help but sigh.
When he looked at Talot, there was appreciation in his eyes, along with curiosity. He did not know how Talot had grown so strong, nor how his control over his power had reached such a level.
Although Raditz was stronger, if they truly fought at the same level, he would probably be inferior to Talot.
"Raditz really is too much. He clearly knows his Battle Power is 200 points higher, yet he isn't holding back at all." Gine said worriedly from the side.
"Hmph! The rigid will break. Raditz has grown a lot and matured considerably, but his understanding of battle is still clearly lacking. Compared to Talot, he's far behind," Bardock said with a faint sigh.
Raditz's strength did satisfy him, but this way of fighting was thoroughly unwise. Only those foolish Elite Warriors would fight like this.
They placed too much emphasis on overwhelming their opponents with sheer power.
Hearing this, Gine turned to him curiously. "Bardock, are you saying Raditz will lose to Talot? But it looks like Talot is about to lose the ability to defend himself."
"I never said Raditz would lose. It's just that he could have won far more easily, yet he insists on attacking head-on. Even if he wins, in a sense, he has still lost! If he needs to rely on strength at a higher level to defeat an opponent with lower Battle Power, while expending so much energy in the process, then in a life-or-death battle, Raditz would have no way out."
As a warrior who had fought and struggled his way to where he was, Bardock saw Raditz's problem with perfect clarity.
Gine continued watching the fight after hearing that.
Though her Battle Power was only 600 points and she could not fully understand what Bardock meant, she knew her husband would not be wrong.
