A toy?
The Association's leader, a middle-aged man with short grayish-brown hair, immediately revealed a vicious expression.
Oboro had already made the leader feel that he was looking down on them by refusing their invitation.
And now he had brazenly forced his way into their headquarters. He was at death's door, yet he showed no awareness of it whatsoever... instead, he was still spouting nonsense?
"Hmph."
Since Oboro could not become a tool of their Association, he could only be eliminated.
Better that than having him join the Hero Association someday.
If they could not have him, they would destroy him.
Before anyone could react, the middle-aged man instantly pressed the device in his hand.
In an instant, the air temperature inside the iron cage boiled. Countless threadlike arcs of electricity and blue flashes erupted, accompanied by sweeping lasers... This terrifying technological power made every hero's scalp prickle.
The radiation heat released by the electromagnetic turbulence made even those dozens of meters away feel their skin sting.
The horrifying lasers even pierced through the cage, carving scratches into the several-meter-thick alloy walls of the hall.
The light was blinding.
No one could see what was happening inside the cage anymore. It felt as though the space within the iron cage itself had been twisted.
It was hard to imagine how Oboro, even with the ability to make spatial jumps, could possibly escape.
In just a few seconds, the cage had melted into a pool of metal liquid and slowly began to cool.
White smoke rose from the ground, while the heat wave in the hall had yet to fade.
"Is he dead?"
One of the heroes swallowed.
It had happened too quickly.
The moment the leader activated the device, the space inside the cage had been filled with surging energy.
