Arc 1The Arena’s Rising Fighter

After leaving the Circus, Oboro trained in the mountains and traveled to Heavens Arena, where he quickly climbed the ranks and developed a powerful Nen ability. His victories drew Biscuit’s attention, and he left the arc preparing to keep fighting only opponents he considered worthy.

  • Moritonio rescued the injured Hisoka, and Oboro joined the Circus while secretly training and learning Nen.
  • Hisoka killed Moritonio after exposing him as the serial killer John Doe, and Oboro left the Circus to train in the mountains.

Oboro left Heavens Arena, joined the Fills Family, and used his strength and alliances to defeat Brown and claim a seat among the Ten Dons. He left David and Fills Lily in control of the family as he prepared to pursue his own dreams.

  • Oboro defeated Floor Master Sami, then sparred with Wing and Biscuit, whose challenge helped him recover his conviction and love for the world.
  • The Fills Family attacked Oboro’s bus, and he killed its gangsters before accepting their invitation to meet Fills Garu.

Arc 3The Road to East Gorteau

Oboro pursued the Hunter Exam, clashed with Netero, and became a Hunter while deepening his interest in the Dark Continent. After accepting a dangerous mission to investigate East Gorteau, he led a team toward the Sawtooth Mountains to uncover what had happened to the Botswa Tribe.

  • Oboro visited Whale Island, met Gon and Mito, and began teaching Gon survival skills and a breathing exercise before leaving for the Kurta Clan’s hidden settlement.
  • Oboro stole a mysterious red book from the Kurta Clan, escaped its warriors, and later faced Netero in a fight that left him injured and convinced him to resume training.
  • Oboro entered the Hunter Exam, watched Phinks and Shalnark take part, and killed Phinks after Netero asked him to rescue examiner Aldama.
  • Oboro passed the Hunter Exam, received his Hunter License, and asked Netero for a path to greater strength and access to the Dark Continent.

Arc 4The Spider’s Reckoning

Oboro investigated the Botswa Tribe’s parasite ritual, survived Ike’s attack at the cost of his strength, and used the Phantom Troupe’s infiltration of the Fills Family to provoke the Spiders. After recovering with Nanika’s help, he trained with Netero and reached the end of his three-month Nen regimen, leaving them poised for one last bout.

  • Oboro and Hisoka traced the Nen-eating parasites to the Botswa Tribe, where Oboro confronted Ike and learned the tribe’s ritual sacrificed its members to preserve one survivor.
  • Ike killed Oboro repeatedly, but Oboro revived with overwhelming power, defeated him, and collapsed after exhausting his life potential.
  • After waking from a month-long recovery, Oboro recruited Chrollo, Feitan, and Franklin into the Fills Family and set a trap that ended with Franklin dead and the Phantom Troupe retreating.
