Background / History
Twenty thousand years before the main conflict, Tang San rose to prominence as a peerless soul master. He led the continent’s powerhouses against Spirit Hall, founded the Tang Sect, and created the Mysterious Heaven Skill and Tang Sect Hidden Weapons. He later inherited both the Sea God and Asura God godhoods, becoming a God King. 174
During his Sea God inheritance, Tang San completed the eighth trial by killing the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King. He absorbed its torso bone and million-year Scarlet-Gold Soul Ring, gaining substantial power before the final inheritance. 163
Tang San devised the Ten Thousand Year Plan around the Abyss Plane’s invasion. He was willing to use Shrek Academy and the lives of Shrek City’s inhabitants as bait, calculating that the resulting losses would make the Plane Master reluctant to interfere. 17 129 152
By the time of Tang Wulin’s youth, a portion of Tang San’s divine consciousness resided in Tang Wulin’s Sea of Spirit. It covertly monitored, guided, and ultimately controlled his son’s life. 76 129
Personality
Tang San is methodical, controlling, and intensely protective of his long-term plans. He treats contingencies as necessities, keeps multiple godhood inheritance seeds in reserve, and repeatedly seeks to preserve control over Tang Wulin, the Douluo Plane, and the God Realm. 129 153 196
He is capable of setting aside individual lives for what he considers the greater interests of the plane and humanity. When weighing the Ten Thousand Year Plan’s risks, he accepts the possible deaths of countless people as a necessary sacrifice. 129
His composure deteriorates sharply when his authority is challenged or those close to him are endangered. Xiao Wu’s peril drives his Asura Killing Intent to erupt, while Tang Wulin’s defiance provokes anger rather than remorse over his past manipulation. 76 203 228
