A hazy fog shrouded the area, reducing visibility to almost nothing. From afar, only faint glimmers of light could be seen.
This place seemed to lie deep within some mountain range, blanketed in white mist all year round.
Steven Stone arrived by helicopter, carrying a white briefcase.

And upon seeing a person, the two little ones did not seem frightened in the slightest, continuing with their work.
The central area of what had once been just a mine had now been cordoned off with warning lines. Tents had been erected everywhere, and staff dressed in researchers' uniforms bustled about.
Steven walked straight in, and the staff immediately pulled aside the caution tape when they saw him.
After the Devon Corporation staff had excavated and polished the site, a strange ancient altar that had been buried beneath the center of the mine was revealed before Steven.
Upon the altar stood two weathered pillars, along with some strange markings.
"A boulder... became an altar?" Steven was somewhat surprised by the sight.
A staff member beside him said helplessly, "This boulder was originally extremely hard. Since we considered that it might be related to the structure and stability of the entire mine, we did not touch it. But after the batch of Energy Ore you sent arrived at the mine, the boulder itself cracked open with a great number of fissures."
