Arc 21The Emperors Gather

Gawain helped Yoriichi defeat Kokushibo and Muzan, then prepared his forces for a war against the Pirate Emperors over the Reverse Mountain blockade. After rejecting Whitebeard’s plan to attack Mary Geoise together, Gawain learned Shanks’s crew had stolen Dyna Stone and chose to keep the battlefield near the Red Line.

  • Gawain helped Yoriichi face his brother Kokushibo, who died after Yoriichi defeated him and mourned him as Michikatsu Tsugikuni.

The God's Knights secretly transported Gawain and Whitebeard to Mary Geoise, where their standoff with the Five Elders began.

  • Shanks and his crew pressured Gawain, while the pirates and Marines fought across the battlefield and suffered heavy losses.

Gawain ended the war by killing Whitebeard, then learned that awakening the Voice of All Things was rapidly killing him. With Marco’s flames buying him time, Gawain joined Vegapunk’s brain to the Thunder Throne and prepared to extend his will across the world.

  • Gawain and Whitebeard returned to the battlefield and fought for two days while the war claimed many lives, including Big Mom’s and numerous Marines and pirates.
  • Gawain killed Whitebeard, who charged him with helping create a future without war, then declared the battle over and drove the remaining pirate forces away.
  • Gawain used the Golden Throne and Sea Train network to hear voices across the world, but Eve warned him to stay hidden and the overwhelming voices left him severely ill.
