"Professor Slughorn is really generous!"
Harry gazed at the golden liquid in the vial, a pleased smile curling at the corner of his mouth.
He had used Felix Felicis before and knew perfectly well how useful this miraculous potion was.
"I'd wager Professor Slughorn knows how to brew Felix Felicis," Ron said, staring enviously at the vial in Harry's hand and swallowing hard.
"If Professor Slughorn has any extra Felix Felicis in reserve, I'd like to buy some from him. I wouldn't mind even if it cost a lot; this is rare stuff." Harry felt that today was his lucky day. As for his unpleasant clash with Snape in Defense Against the Dark Arts earlier, he had long since thrown it to the back of his mind.
"You can't take too much Felix Felicis," Hermione reminded him kindly.
"Honestly, I never expected to get any extra Felix Felicis from Professor Slughorn. Don't forget, he said he'd only taken it twice. If he had any to spare, he definitely would have used it more than twice."
Harry tucked the vial into his robe pocket and considered how to use the Felix Felicis wisely. Drinking it all at once would undoubtedly be tremendously wasteful. It would be best to divide it into several portions like Albert did and use them when needed.
"I wonder how Albert managed to turn this stuff into half-hour doses." Harry planned to ask Sirius about it when he had the chance, to see whether they had any ideas.
"Harry, how did you do it?" Ron asked curiously.
"I... was probably just lucky!" After noticing Malfoy listening in with his ears pricked, Harry casually made up an excuse. "Of course, it's nothing much. Some people are far luckier than I am."
"You're right. Some people really are lucky."
