No matter what, the major operation Kingsley and the others had stirred up could not be hidden from Harry, Hermione, and Ron, who lived under the same roof.
When the three learned that Sirius and the others intended to secretly go to Azkaban to rescue people without telling them, Harry, Hermione, and Ron wore complicated expressions. They believed they were no longer children, yet everyone else still liked treating them as such despite them being adults.
They wanted to go to Azkaban too, just as they had gone to the old castle to rescue people before. Sirius could forget about shaking them off and acting alone.
"Sorry, Harry, but I'm afraid we really can't take you with us this time."

"Albert thinks you have a talent for causing trouble wherever you go. If you come along, something could very well go wrong with this Rescue Mission. You might even attract Voldemort there. We have to prevent anything like that from happening," Sirius said stiffly.
