This Reward Is Kind of a Scam

The next morning, Albert opened his eyes and woke up in his hospital bed.

I slept well last night and feel pretty good now, except I'm a little hungry, and... my legs are a little sore.

He sat up in bed, covered a yawn, stretched lazily, and turned his head to look at the Weasley Twins next door.

Both of them were awake, but still lying in bed, seemingly lost in thought.

"Are you two alright?" Albert looked at the two with a half-smile.

"Not good, and I feel a bit nauseous," Fred muttered.

This is a side effect of using Portkey: nausea and hysteria.

Fred and George were not the only ones who were dizzy from the Portkey.

It is said that before the Hogwarts Express began operating, the British Ministry of Magic distributed a large number of Portkey at assembly points throughout Britain. Many students arriving at Hogwarts this way experienced Portkey- related dizziness. As a result, the School Hospital was always overcrowded in the first few days of school.

"Tomorrow will be fine. I'm going to have breakfast. You guys can stay here!"

Albert got up to change his clothes, and while he was at it, he used Mending Charm to restore his clothes, which had been torn by the tree branch, to their original condition.

"Albert," Fred suddenly called out to Albert.

"What is it?" Albert stopped and turned to ask.

"Thank you for saving us," the Twins said in unison.

"You're welcome. We're friends, aren't we?" Albert smiled and waved.

To be honest, both Fred and George were almost moved to tears.

If Albert hadn't noticed their disappearance, guessed their whereabouts, and risked his life to rescue them when they were in dire straits, they would probably have been eaten by the giant spider long ago.

Fred and George exchanged glances, watching Albert's departing figure, and murmured softly, "Yes, friends!"

Albert didn't get to eat breakfast because it was almost noon and the Great Hall had stopped serving it. He went straight to the kitchen, where he enjoyed freshly cooked food, warmly welcomed by his House-elf.

While eating, Albert opened his Task Panel and casually completed the Spider Slayer task.

Last night, I defeated a total of 94 giant Acromantula and gained 4700 experience points, which is quite a lot of experience points.

It's worth it!

Make a killing.

Albert was very satisfied with his gains; last night's adventure was indeed worthwhile.

"What is this?" He suddenly shifted his gaze to the newly appeared mission.

There have been three instances of this.

You've already received a Hogwarts Special Contribution Award once, why not receive it a few more times? During your time at Hogwarts, you received two more Special Contribution Award, ensuring your Hogwarts is etched in the history of Hogwarts.

Current progress: 1/3 Rewards: 6000 experience, one level 3 designated skill, +200 Magical World Reputation.

"Holy crap, this is amazing, my mission!" Albert dropped the sausage he had just stuffed into his mouth back into the plate after seeing the mission information.

I never expected such a stunt! Albert's gaze shifted to another task. He hadn't even noticed last night that two new tasks had popped up.

The Secret Treasure of Gryffindor.

You've discovered a map to Gryffindor's Secret Treasure. Although its credibility remains questionable, some claim that the Secret Treasure contains priceless artifacts. As an explorer, you shouldn't miss this adventure to find the location of the Secret Treasure and enter the vault.

Reward: Unknown.

unknown?

This was the first time Albert had ever seen a mission reward that was unknown.

Last night, he lied to Professor McGonagall, saying the Treasure Map was hidden in the Forbidden Forest, when in fact Treasure Map was still in his pocket. Albert wasn't particularly interested in the Twins' supposed Secret Treasure; he stayed only to see if he could trigger a quest.

The quest was triggered, but... the quest prompts seemed a bit misleading! Albert pulled out the so-called Treasure Map from his pocket, examined the old parchment from top to bottom, and found that the thing had indeed undergone a new change.

Behind the parchment, there was an extra sentence: This was a great adventure!

There was also something similar to a compass.

Is the pointer pointing to Secret Treasure?

It looks quite convincing; no wonder Fred and George believed it was a real Treasure Map.

However, this map must have been created by a wizard, otherwise the quest wouldn't have given hints that its credibility is still low and that some people claim it to be.

The wizard who created the map may have already found the so-called Secret Treasure of Gryffindor, and left the map simply to show off his deeds and let future generations experience his adventures.

That phrase, "This is a great adventure," likely means the same thing.

Of course, there is another possibility.

That means the creator of this map didn't actually find the so-called Secret Treasure of Gryffindor. He left the map hoping someone would help him find the Secret Treasure, or it was just a prank.

The Twins clearly believed it was the former, so they went on the adventure, got lost, and stumbled into the hunting grounds of the Acromantula.

"Forget it, we'll talk about this later!"

Albert temporarily abandoned his idea of finding the treasure, as this route might even take him past the lair of the Acromantula.

Those monsters are dangerous. I was lucky enough to kill a hundred of them this time, and luck played a big part in it. One should know one's own limitations.

However, Albert was still somewhat interested in the Secret Treasure left behind by the Four Founders, even though the rewards for the mission were rather disappointing.

If Gryffindor's Secret Treasure is in the Forbidden Forest, it's because Gryffindor himself enjoys adventure and obtaining the treasure requires courage.

Could Ravenclaw also have a Secret Treasure? But where would she hide it? Hogwarts Castle?

What about Hufflepuff's Secret Treasure? Slytherin... Hmm, could Slytherin's Secret Treasure be hidden in the Chamber of Secrets?

That doesn't make sense either. If Slytherin's Secret Treasure really was hidden in the Chamber of Secrets, Tom couldn't have missed it. Even if he had, it would probably have been taken by now! Could it be... that the so-called Secret Treasure is actually the Basilisk?

Albert immediately dismissed these strange thoughts and continued to collect his rewards for the Rescue Mission.

Looking at the two Skill Points given by the mission, Albert felt a surge of joy. This meant he could upgrade two skills to level 3 or one skill to level 4.

The Spider Hunter grants Albert 10,000 experience points and a Spider Hunter title. By the way, how do you obtain the 1 vial of Acromantula Venom for the quest? The 25 Galleon from the last quest were sent to him by Truman.

Who will give it to me this time?

Professor Broad? Since it's on the mission, he probably won't sabotage me.

Albert stopped thinking about it, quickly finished his food, and left the kitchen to write a letter to buy dog food for Fang.

Last night, Fang helped him a lot, and Albert will not forget its contribution.

Moreover, my gains this time were quite good.

However, just as I passed through the Entrance Hall, someone called out to me.

"Katrina, is something the matter?"

"Professor Broad is looking for you," Katrina said. Here I am!

The quest's one-bottle bottle of Acromantula Venom was indeed handed to me by Professor Broad.

"Thank you, I understand, I'll be right there." Albert nodded slightly to Katrina and turned to walk towards the Defence Against the Dark Arts office on the second floor of the castle.

This volume is almost finished. I'm currently organizing the outline for the second volume, so there will be fewer updates recently.

The first and second volumes of this book are combined, and it is partly inspired by the Hogwarts Mystery. It is estimated to be over 600,000 words long.
