Idiot-Making Potion
How are you feeling?
Seeing Albert cautiously sip a small amount of Felix Felicis, Fred, George, and Lee Jordan all swallowed hard. They really wanted to taste the legendary Felix Felicis themselves and experience the wonderful feeling of everything going smoothly.
Unfortunately, there was only a very small amount of Felix Felicis.
"Very good, very good, everyone follow me!" Albert walked briskly toward the gloomy and damp forest path ahead.
"Where are we going?" George quickly followed Albert's footsteps.
"Of course, we'll go into the forest and try our luck," Lee Jordan said matter-of-factly.
"You're only half right. We're going to try our luck at Mr. Kettleburn's Cabin," Albert explained casually, humming a little tune.
"What do you want to see Kettleburn for?" Fred asked, frowning. To be honest, they weren't familiar with that professor of Magical Creature, and going to see him now was not a good idea, especially since they had trespassed into the Forbidden Forest. They were already being kind by not getting points deducted or being put in solitary confinement.
"Don't worry, things aren't as bad as you think," Albert said with a smile, trying to reassure you. "We're not going to see Kettleburn, we're just trying our luck around the cabin in the woods."
"You think there might be Flobberworm near Kettleburn's cabin?" George's eyes gleamed, completely surprised that Albert could give such an accurate location so quickly.
It truly lives up to its name, Felix Felicis, with amazing effects.
Winter is coming.
"What does this have to do with winter?"
"Don't interrupt, let Albert finish speaking." Fred glared at Lee Jordan, displeased, telling him to shut up.
"Every year around this time, Hagrid and Kettleburn feed the young Thestral who can't find food, helping them survive the cold winter. We need to find a feeding spot, and if we're lucky, we should be able to find Flobberworm near the animal's skeleton."
Albert didn't mention one more thing: Kettleburn kept a group of Magical Creature, and if he threw together the leftover bones from their Magical Creature, there was a chance they would find the Flobberworm.
On their way to the cabin in the woods, the four of them took the time to observe the surrounding forest and did find some strange mushrooms, but these mushrooms were not the Flobberworm they were looking for.
Following the route in his memory, Albert easily found the cabin in the woods with the help of Felix Felicis. The four of them began to wander around and actually found the place where Kettleburn threw away the bones, which was covered with dense mushrooms.
"Found it." Albert frowned slightly, sensing that something was amiss.
Fred, George, and Lee Jordan all took out the equipment they had prepared beforehand and put it on, ready to go and catch the Flobberworm. Why catch them? Because as soon as something gets close, the Flobberworm will scatter.
"By the way, don't you guys think there are too many Flobberworm?" Albert wondered if someone was deliberately cultivating Flobberworm here.
"The quantity is indeed quite large." The three looked at each other, not understanding what Albert meant.
However, if there are many of them, there's no need to worry about not being able to catch the Flobberworm.
However, barging in like that, with spore dust flying everywhere, would indeed cause them a lot of trouble. George planned to throw a stone inside to scare away the Flobberworm, and then capture them one by one. After all, they had done a lot of research to catch Flobberworm, and if they just barged into the Flobberworm like that, they would probably have to lie down and go back to Hogwarts.
Three, two, one.
Lee Jordan threw stones into the Flobberworm, and the next moment, the Flobberworm went wild, jumping in all directions. During the jumping, they released a large amount of spores. Fortunately, the four of them had already moved far away before it started.
That's how I avoided getting infected.
"Go!" Albert shouted. Fred, George, and Lee Jordan chased after the Flobberworm they had chosen. These guys were more agile than the Flobberworm in the greenhouse. After a chase, the three of them finally caught the Flobberworm they had targeted with great effort.
"It's a pity about the rest," George said, looking at the vanished Flobberworm.
"There's nothing to regret. Three are enough. Let's go back." Albert took a cloth bag out of his robe pocket and stuffed the Flobberworm he had caught into it.
"How did you end up here?"
"Uh," Albert turned his head to look at the sudden voice and realized that he had run into someone he knew.
"Mr. Dagworth, what are you doing here?" Albert asked, frowning slightly.
"I've come to Mr. Kettleburn to purchase Snakes Bird eggshells."
"Felix Felicis?" Albert immediately realized what kind of Potions Dagworth wanted to concoct.
"Well, the Felix Felicis we made a few years ago is all used up, and I'm planning to make another batch." Dagworth looked at Albert and the others, and asked suspiciously, "What are you doing catching Flobberworm?"
"You know there are Flobberworm here?" George couldn't help but ask.
"It was I who suggested to Mr. Kettleburn that these bones be thrown here to cultivate Flobberworm."
"You mean Flobberworm here are yours?"
"Every year I come here to harvest a batch of mature Flobberworm as raw material," Dagworth nodded. As a Potions Master, he has his own stable source of Potions. Just like he knows that Kettleburn raises and breeds Snakes Bird. If he needs Snakes Bird eggshells, he will pay a high price or obtain them through other means. After all, Snakes Bird eggshells are also a very difficult material to obtain.
Albert and the others exchanged glances, feeling a bit embarrassed. Had their master caught them red-handed?
Dagworth, however, paid no attention to these matters and continued to ask, "Why are you catching the Flobberworm?"
"To manufacture Baruffio's Brain Elixir. I've heard that it Sickle help people improve their brainpower," Albert answered honestly.
"Baruffio's Brain Elixir?" Dagworth frowned, his tone suddenly turning stern. "You should know how difficult it is to make Baruffio's Brain Elixir. If it can't be successfully made, it becomes very dangerous. As far as I know, someone drank that stuff last time and almost became an idiot. Moreover, the Ministry of Magic prohibits the private making of Baruffio's Brain Elixir."
Unfortunately, the Baruffio's Brain Elixir circulating on the black market are mostly unusable defective products; drinking them might turn you into an idiot.
Fred and his companions naturally knew about these things, but hearing them from a Potions Master made them feel timid and want to back down.
"If, if you really want to concoct Baruffio's Brain Elixir, I can help you," Dagworth said to Albert. "But I expect you to promise that you won't concoct Baruffio's Brain Elixir haphazardly, and you certainly won't drink any Baruffio's Brain Elixir n't passed inspection."
Dagworth didn't want Albert to drink some strange Potions and accidentally turn himself into an idiot.
Such cases are not unheard of in the Wizarding World.
Albert paused for a moment, somewhat surprised by Dagworth's suggestion, but he readily agreed. After all, with a Potions Master's help, learning to brew Baruffio's Brain Elixir wouldn't be too difficult.
