A True Warrior
After running all the way, Fred and George were so exhausted that they could no longer run and leaned against tree trunks, panting heavily.
"Thank goodness, that monster didn't chase after us!" Fred plopped down on the snow, exhausted, and looked back at the path with lingering fear. They had almost been bitten to death by the three-headed monster.
"That scared me to death," George patted his chest and couldn't help but complain, "How could Hagrid dare to keep such a dangerous monster in the Forbidden Forest?"
"I should have listened to Albert and left earlier." Fred regretted not heeding Albert's advice and leaving sooner. "By the way, where are Albert and Lee Jordan? Didn't they leave first?"
"How would I know?" George's face showed a hint of unease as he looked at the snow-covered forest path behind him and said uncertainly, "They went ahead of us, they should be ahead of us."
However, there were only two footprints on the snow where two people had just run.
Albert and Lee Jordan were clearly still behind them, but how come they hadn't encountered them while they were running for their lives? The two were momentarily confused; even if they had been running for their lives, it was impossible that they hadn't noticed the people on the road.
Fred and George exchanged uneasy glances and said, "Have we gone the wrong way?"
"I don't think so. Are there any forks in the road?" Fred looked at George, hoping to get an answer from him.
"How could I possibly notice?" George recovered, licked his dry lips, and looked at Fang Xiang who had just run over. "Should we go back and find them?"
"Go back?" Fred's voice rose slightly; he really didn't want to face that damned three-headed monster. But... he couldn't just leave Albert and Lee Jordan in the forest! "Alright, let's go back and check." Fred hesitated for a moment, then nodded in agreement.
After encountering danger, the two instinctively felt that they shouldn't abandon their friend and run away.
In fact, anyone with a clear head would realize that someone as fierce as Albert, who dared to venture into the Forbidden Forest alone in the dead of night and take on a group of Acromantula, could not possibly have gotten lost on the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest.
Unfortunately, the sprint had left them both oxygen-deprived and prevented them from thinking things through clearly.
When Fred and George returned the way they came, they ran into Lee Jordan, who had just separated from Hagrid. His roommate had already broken free of the Disillusionment Charm and was still wondering where Albert had gone. "Why are you alone? Where's Albert?" Fred asked, looking at the puzzled Lee Jordan.
"How would I know?" Lee Jordan shrugged.
"How did you know? Didn't you leave together first?" George asked, frowning.
"We just turned back..." Lee Jordan coughed lightly and complained, "You guys actually left me there all alone... and I even turned back because I was concerned about your safety."
"Ahem, I didn't notice, did I? Wait, you guys actually sneaked back, and I didn't even notice..." Fred was clearly displeased; these two were definitely going back to see them make a fool of themselves.
"That monster was absolutely terrifying..." George didn't care about that; he was still shaken.
"You mean Fluffy?"
"Fluffy, are you talking about that three-headed monster?" Fred had gradually calmed down.
"Yeah, that's Hagrid's pet." Lee Jordan said with a sullen face, "I just got a good scolding from Hagrid, and that bastard Albert actually sneaked away on his own. By the way, what were you guys doing running so fast just now?"
"By the way, was Hagrid there just now?" George asked, puzzled.
"Of course, otherwise how do you think I survived that monster's jaws?" Lee Jordan muttered. "If you hadn't insisted, I wouldn't have..."
"Alright, stop complaining. Shall we go find Albert now?" Fred interrupted their complaints, reminding them.
"Never mind him, let's go back to the castle first," Lee Jordan said, shaking his head.
"Is it really okay for him?"
"He'll be fine even if something happens to us." Lee Jordan couldn't help but roll his eyes at the two of them and said, "Maybe that guy is roasting Snow Fungus in the castle."
"That makes sense. Besides, he actually sneaked away on his own."
"Who said you snuck away?" A voice suddenly rang out from the side. The three of them looked in the direction of the voice and saw a figure emerge from behind a large tree. It was none other than Albert, who had mysteriously disappeared earlier. "You actually hid yourself," Lee Jordan said to Albert first. "Do you know how long Hagrid lectured me?"
"I know, otherwise why would I wait to get scolded?" Albert readily admitted, swallowing back what Lee Jordan was about to say.
"I told you to hurry up and leave, but you didn't listen. Can you blame me?" Albert shrugged helplessly.
"We almost got bitten to death by that monster just now," Fred complained.
"Yeah, running away is a bit stupid. Next time you run away, don't leave your backs to the enemy," Albert admonished. "If Hagrid hadn't been there, you'd probably have been bitten to death by Three-Headed Dog."
"Were you secretly gloating somewhere just now?!" Fred suddenly realized something. This guy was really wicked, hiding to watch them make a fool of themselves.
"Who told you to stay? You can't blame me for being chased by dogs. No, you can only blame yourselves." Albert shook his head, as if to say it was all your own fault.
"Isn't it because you're here?" George's face twitched, and he gave a helpless, forced laugh.
"So I ran off first!" Albert said.
Fred and George were taken aback and were speechless for a moment.
"Remember not to tell anyone about this, or Hagrid will probably come after us." Lee Jordan couldn't help but laugh, but he didn't forget Hagrid's warning.
"We won't." Although they were being chased badly by the monster, Fred and George knew what they shouldn't say.
The four of them went straight to the kitchen and, with the help of their House-elf, grilled and ate the Snow Fungus they had found. The taste was absolutely wonderful.
"Speaking of which, is it really appropriate for Hagrid to keep that kind of monster in the Forbidden Forest?" Fred asked with some concern. After all, they would often enter the Forbidden Forest, and encountering it there would not be a good idea.
That Three-Headed Dog was really dangerous. If Hagrid hadn't been there, they might have been bitten or even killed by it, just like Albert said.
"Don't worry, once it's grown up, it probably won't stay in the Forbidden Forest anymore. Dumbledore will probably have someone send Fluffy back to Greece," Albert muttered to himself, chewing his food.
"What if the principal doesn't know about this?" Lee Jordan countered.
"I'll write a letter to Dumbledore and tell him about it," Albert said without hesitation.
"Seriously, that monster isn't even an adult yet!" George asked incredulously.
"Of course not. Fluffy is not that big yet. He'll probably be Hagrid's size next year." Albert had seen Three-Headed Dog's information and knew that Fluffy would still be at school next year, and that the headmaster would be borrowing him to guard the Philosopher's Stone.
"I really don't understand how Hagrid can guarantee it won't hurt anyone," Fred couldn't help but complain, still feeling that Hagrid was taking too much of a risk.
"He trains Fluffy like he trains Fang, and undeniably it has some effect." Lee Jordan witnessed Hagrid calling out to Fluffy, so he wasn't worried about the issue. He suddenly remembered something, turned to Albert, and asked with a complicated expression, "Did you really rub Fluffy ' head?"
"Wow! Aren't you scared?" Fred and George both looked shocked, rubbing the monster's head. Just how much courage did that take?
"It wasn't that big back then," Albert said after thinking for a moment. "It felt pretty good, quite comfortable, and it was a pretty good experience."
Albert's only regret was that he had forgotten to film this scene, which was a real miscalculation.
