Advanced Patronus Charm
"To be honest, I really don't want to pretend I'm an expert in teaching," Aberforth said, taking four bottles of Butterbeer from under the bar and placing them on the old counter.
After paying 8 Sickle, Albert grabbed four bottles of Butterbeer and distributed them to everyone.
Aberforth put Sickle into the wooden money box and continued the previous topic, "The magic we use is not simply in one way. Wizards have further improved magic, making it change according to the caster's will, which is a more advanced application of magic."
"Wizards usually call it something advanced." Aberforth took a drag of his cigarette and leisurely exhaled a smoke ring. "Of course, magic is called advanced because these changes represent a further application of magic, something many wizards are unaware of or even unable to do. Their emergence stems more from wizards' further exploration and research into magic."
"I know this, like this, right!" Albert raised his wand and used Lumos. A ball of light rose from the tip of the wand and hovered above everyone's heads, instantly brightening the previously dim Hog's Head Pub.
Aberforth's eyes widened, and he opened his mouth as if to say something, but he forgot that he had just been smoking. Smoke came out of his mouth, making Aberforth cough repeatedly.
"Well, I guess so!" Aberforth was astonished by Albert's magical talent. Even Albus at this age couldn't have achieved this level.
"Of course, the Patronus Charm is far more difficult than this, because the Patronus Charm itself is a profound form of magic, so advanced transformations are naturally even more difficult." Aberforth, ignoring his cigarette, came out from behind the counter and sat on the creaking wooden chair opposite Albert, continuing, "Many people believe that only those with pure hearts can summon Patronus, but this is actually a fallacy. Many people with negative personality traits can also summon Patronus."
Fred, George, and Lee Jordan exchanged bewildered glances, but Albert was not surprised; he remembered that the Toad Professor from the fifth movie could also summon Patronus.
"It seems you know these things." Aberforth had some doubts about whether the person in front of him would become the next Albus in a few years.
"Yes, I know," Albert replied, gesturing for Aberforth to continue.
"When casting Patronus Charm, the caster needs to maintain confidence, concentrate all their thoughts on a particularly pleasant moment, and have strong Magical Power to support it for the spell to take effect," Aberforth said. "You should have already read what I wrote for you about how to use Advanced Patronus Charm."
"I've seen it, but there are still some parts I don't understand. Why don't you explain it to me yourself?"
Albert had certainly read what Aberforth had written for him, but he felt that it was useless, or rather, that the simple textual descriptions were too abstract.
"You must be resolute. Negative emotions can affect the casting of the Patronus Charm. Many wizards can't use the Patronus Charm when facing Dementor." Aberforth held up a finger. "You need to learn how to keep yourself happy."
"Most advanced magic requires powerful Magical Power as support, and the Patronus Charm is no exception. That's why they're failing now." Aberforth raised a second finger and pointed at Fred and the other two who were trying the Patronus Charm.
"Confidence is half the battle," Aberforth said, raising his third finger. "However, I don't think you lack it."
Even he could tell that the person in front of him was very confident and never thought he would fail.
Albert was speechless for a moment after listening. He really wanted to let Aberforth get straight to the point, but he held back and didn't interrupt him.
"To learn the Advanced Patronus Charm, you need to be able to use Patronus Charm easily." Aberforth seemed to sense Albert's impatience and continued, "When you use the Patronus Charm, there is a gesture of drawing a circle with your wand. This is the process of building up the power of the charm. Only after that do you need to chant the incantation ' Expecto Patronum '."
"During the buildup process, you need to repeat the message to your brain," Aberforth explained. "So the message is usually not very long."
The Weasley Twins and Lee Jordan could understand every single word, but they couldn't understand what the other person was saying.
"Um!"
Albert roughly understood what the other person meant.
"The Patronus Charm is used for communication, and its power is not very strong. It is usually difficult to maintain the Corporeal Patronus. It takes a long time of practice to be able to summon the Corporeal Patronus when communicating."
Albert nodded, indicating that he understood.
"Got it?" Aberforth thought to himself, "What an amazing guy."
"Give it a try!" he said.
"You didn't finish speaking, did you?" Albert suddenly said.
"I originally intended to wait until you could reach that level before explaining the final steps," Aberforth, not intending to hide anything, and continued.
"Next, you need to get your Patronus to find the person you want to send a message to. One way is through a fixed location, which works like Apparition; you need to know the exact location. The other way is to find the person directly, which is similar to Tracking Charm. Do you know how to use Tracking Charm? I think this part is a bit too early for you right now."
Albert frowned slightly; he certainly didn't know how to use the Tracking Charm.
"I'll learn the Tracking Charm when I get back."
"Expecto Patronum!" Albert recalled fond memories while thinking about the message he wanted to convey. Finally, he uttered the incantation, and only a wisp of silver gas emerged from the tip of his wand.
Without a doubt, it failed.
"Failure is normal. You need to practice more. No one can master the advanced use of the Patronus immediately after listening to the theory," Aberforth casually comforted him.
"Thank you, Mr. Aberforth!" Albert took out his Fountain Pen and, under Aberforth's astonished gaze, wrote down how to use the High Patronus.
Then, he called his three friends and they left the Hog's Head Pub together.
"I hate Hog's Head Pub," George muttered.
"That's really something!" Lee Jordan finished the rest of his Butterbeer in one gulp and left with Albert.
"I think the Patronus Charm is very difficult to learn!"
Fred's wand emitted a pitifully thin stream of gas.
"Your Magical Power is not enough. It took me quite a while to learn it. Of course, using it against Dementor is another matter." Albert was preparing to return to Hogwarts before the other students arrived at Hogsmeade.
"We want to go to Zonko's Joke Shop," Fred and George said in unison. "We're almost out of Dungbombs."
"I heard Zonko has some new products," Lee Jordan chimed in.
"Alright, but I think we'd better hurry!" Albert pulled out his pocket watch and waved it in front of the three of them. "I don't want anyone else to catch us wandering around Hogsmeade and complain to the professors."
As it turned out, Albert's words were all in vain.
The three had barely entered Zonko's Joke Shop when they were captivated by the dazzling array of goods. By the time they were ready to return to Hogwarts, the streets of Hogsmeade were already teeming with students. The four had to use Disillusionment Charm to take a long detour and avoid the students.
