Poachers?
Recently, Hagrid has been frequently venturing into the Forbidden Forest.
Three-Headed Dog Fluffy, was hidden by Dumbledore in a cave in the Forbidden Forest. Hagrid would bring him food every day and occasionally take Fluffy out for walks. This was one of Hagrid's happiest memories.
Fluffy is growing very fast; it's already almost up to Hagrid's elbow and will be fully grown this summer. At that time, Dumbledore will have it sent back to Greece.
Hagrid knew that his time with Fluffy was running out, and he cherished the last moments they had together.
Today, when Hagrid returned from the Forbidden Forest carrying his iron bucket, he noticed marks on several tree trunks that appeared to have been struck by Charms. He reached out and touched them, and immediately realized what had happened.
The Weasley Twins sneaked out into the forest again to practice their spells and observe the distribution of spell marks around them. They even threw spells at each other in the forest.
"If I catch those two little bastards again, I'll definitely lock them up for a week," Hagrid said angrily, slamming his fist on a tree trunk.
Fred and George kept saying "I understand," but then they immediately forgot what they had said.
Hagrid didn't want Hogwarts students to frequently enter and leave the Forbidden Forest. On the one hand, the school didn't allow students to enter the Forbidden Forest, and on the other hand, he didn't want rumors to spread that there were monsters in the Forbidden Forest.
We must make an example of him to deter others; we can't set this precedent. If everyone likes to run around in the Forbidden Forest when they have nothing to do, it will be his dereliction of duty as the Hunting Grounds manager.
In the past few days, Hagrid has been keeping a close eye on the Forbidden Forest, trying to catch the Weasley Twins on the spot. He even brought Fang with him for this purpose, but the Twins managed to sneak away several times.
This outcome left Hagrid extremely frustrated, and he suspected that Albert might have been involved as well.
The woods on the edge of the school were almost entirely covered in magical traces. Every time he entered the woods, the other person would run faster than him. Hagrid couldn't help but wonder if he was being watched, but he didn't feel like he was being watched. And if he were, Fang would react.
That's really strange!
From then on, Hagrid stopped going into the woods to arrest people. He always carried a Binoculars in his pocket and often wandered around the edge of the Forbidden Forest, trying to catch students coming out of the woods.
However, Hagrid soon discovered that the two bastards always managed to slip away through gaps, and they seemed to have cast Disillusionment Charm on themselves, making it impossible to spot each other from a distance. This convinced Hagrid that Albert was also involved.
Once, when Albert went to the Hunting Cabin to find Hagrid, he found the man looking at him with resentful eyes.
Even the thick-skinned Albert was starting to feel the pressure.
"What's wrong?" Albert couldn't help but ask. "Just say what's on your mind. You're making me feel awkward."
"You're embarrassed?" Hagrid snorted disapprovingly. "You ungrateful bastards... Have you been spending a lot of time in the woods lately? Humph, don't think I don't know you've been helping those two little rascals plotting..."
"Ahem, we've been doing a lot of homework at school lately," Albert coughed, explaining casually. "You know, Easter is coming up, and there's a mountain of homework."
"Really not?"
"Really, no," Albert assured him earnestly.
"Fine, I believe you... just kidding!" Hagrid muttered discontentedly. "Just you wait. If I catch them practicing magic in the Forbidden Forest, I'll make sure Professor McGonagall put them in solitary confinement for a week."
"Hagrid, are you alright?" Albert felt he needed to change his plans when he got back; he could sense the unusual persistence in Hagrid.
"Oh no, I've expended most of my energy trying to get the Weasley Twins out of the Forbidden Forest." Hagrid waved the Rock Cake in his hand, chewing it up in one bite, as if only in this way could he express his inner dissatisfaction.
"Hagrid, you don't really want anyone into the woods, right?" Albert asked tentatively. Before Hagrid could answer, he continued, "Is Fluffy still in the forest?"
"You...I don't know what you're talking about!" Hagrid said dryly.
"Don't worry, I won't say anything, you know that." Albert nodded to show that he understood, after all, the rumors last time were really upsetting.
"I'm not letting you into the forest because the Acromantula in the Forbidden Forest have been acting strangely lately. I just don't want them to risk their lives."
"Did Dumbledore say when he would send Fluffy away?" Albert asked again.
"Summer vacation!" Hagrid said irritably. He really couldn't understand how Albert knew that Fluffy was still in the Forbidden Forest. Had he really given himself away? "What's this about the Acromantula?" Albert asked.
"I don't know. It seems we were ambushed. Some wizards are hunting Acromantula in the Forbidden Forest." Hagrid frowned slightly; he clearly didn't want to see this happen.
What's going on?
"I don't know, they say..." Hagrid hesitated, seemingly considering whether to tell Albert these things.
"They?"
"Aragog said a wizard killed its people and took the venom and spider eggs. You may not know this, but the eggs of the Acromantula, like dragon eggs, are Class A prohibited trade items." Hagrid angrily clenched his fist; he disliked these poachers.
"For Galleon?" Albert wasn't surprised. Some people would do anything for Galleon, and he himself didn't have a good impression of those giant spiders. Sure enough, more of them should die so that the spider colony's population could be controlled.
Wouldn't Acromantula farm be a good idea? We can come over and harvest some every now and then.
"That should be it," Hagrid said. "So the Aragog are very volatile right now, and even I'm not allowed to get close."
"Hagrid, you shouldn't be worried about the safety of the Acromantula, but about the safety of that wizard. He might get eaten by those giant spiders one day. Acromantula are very vengeful," Albert said softly.
"You...this..." Hagrid was stunned.
"Hagrid, the Acromantula is a classified Magical Creatures, and its danger is self-evident," Albert reminded him, somewhat speechlessly. "They may not be a threat to you, but for most wizards, those giant spiders are quite dangerous."
"So you don't need to worry about the Acromantula colony being raided by poachers at all. If they keep doing this, they'll get caught sooner or later. Besides, Acromantula are very vengeful. Do you think they won't retaliate against those poachers?"
"It seems...that's true." Hagrid scratched his head, feeling that something was off, but he had to admit that Albert was right.
