A True Champion
Fred, George, and Lee Jordan all envied Albert's ability to make money. He easily earned ten Galleon from Kenneth Toler simply by using the formula for the Baruffio's Brain Elixir, and he didn't even have to help Kenneth Toler copy the formula. It was a completely risk-free business.
"Don't you also know how to make Baruffio's Brain Elixir?" George looked around to make sure no one was eavesdropping, then asked in a low voice the question that had been bothering him. He didn't understand why Albert wanted to sell the formula. With his abilities, he could easily make Baruffio's Brain Elixir himself and sell it to others. Albert had had a similar idea before.
Although the Runespoor, a key ingredient, are hard to obtain, you can always get them from the black market and make the lion's share. After all, a bottle of Baruffio's Brain Elixir now sells for tens of Galleon.
"Alright!" Albert interrupted with a laugh when he heard George say that. "What do you think Baruffio's Brain Elixir is? It's not as easy as you think. Ordinary potion makers simply can't concoct it. Just like I told Kenneth Toller before, without superb Potions skills and a certain amount of practice and experimentation, it's impossible to successfully concoct Baruffio's Brain Elixir. Just think about the potions that everyone concocts in Potions Class. Would you dare to drink those things?"
Making students drink Potions they concocted themselves?
It seems there was a previous case where the patient ended up in the School Hospital.
Looking at the three dumbfounded people, Albert couldn't help but shake his head. They were still too young and assumed everything was trivial! Albert knew very well how skilled Hertok Dagworth was in Potions. Even Potions Master like him was afraid of making a mistake when concocting Baruffio's Brain Elixir, let alone other incompetent potion makers.
"If, I mean if Kenneth Toller really did try to concoct Baruffio's Brain Elixir ..." Fred's expression suddenly turned strange, with a hint of schadenfreude.
"I estimate he'll lose a lot of money on materials. I already warned him about it before." Albert shook his head and said, "If he dares to sell the diluted failure at Hogwarts, Snape will definitely call him in for a chat."
The three men exchanged glances and revealed eerie smiles, preparing to watch Kenneth Toller suffer a terrible fate.
Whether Kenneth Toller actually tried to concoct Baruffio's Brain Elixir was unknown to Albert, but he himself was first invited for tea by Snape.
As for why, Albert naturally knew very well.
"Professor Snape doesn't look too good, you'd better be careful," the Slytherin student who delivered the message casually reminded him.
"Thank you, Higgs."
"You're welcome. I'm sorry you didn't Gryffindor Quidditch Team. To be honest, I'd love to have another match with you." Terence Higgs was still resentful about his previous defeat to Albert.
"Oh, right, there's one more thing. Someone asked me to ask you if you have that kind of potion. They're willing to buy it, and the price is negotiable," Terence Higgs added before leaving.
"Unfortunately, that's all I have. It was a gift from someone." Albert shrugged helplessly. "So, even if I were willing to sell it, I don't have a second bottle."
"I'm sorry." Terence Higgs left quickly.
"I didn't expect you to know a Slytherin student?" The Twins suddenly appeared after Terence Higgs left.
"Slytherin's backup Seeker," Albert said. "He's alright. I plan to develop him into the head of Slytherin Wizard Card."
"I thought Slytherin students didn't like Wizard Card," George said self-deprecatingly. No Slytherin students participated in the last Wizard Card Competition.
"There are always a few people who like it." Albert stuffed the note into his pocket, then took out his pocket watch to check the time, preparing to go find Snape for tea.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door of the Potions Office; this wasn't Albert's first time here.
"Mr. Anderson, do I need to remind you?" Snape stared at Albert with a grim expression and said coldly, "Baruffio's Brain Elixir is Class B Prohibited Trade Items by the Ministry of Magic."
"Of course I know, sir." Albert seemed unfazed by Snape's gloomy expression and said calmly, "However, I don't think I've broken any laws...neither the Ministry of Magic nor Hogwarts."
"Not illegal?" Snape's gloomy face revealed a sinister smirk as he suddenly said, "The Baruffio's Brain Elixir sold on the market is one hundred percent poison."
"I know..."
"You know why..." Snape seized the opportunity to give Albert a severe dressing-down, his words filled with threats and intimidation.
"Sir, you should let me finish speaking instead of interrupting me. Otherwise, how can you be sure I've broken the law?" Albert said indifferently after Snape finished speaking.
This made Snape's face turn ashen with anger.
"That bottle of Baruffio's Brain Elixir was a gift from Mr. Dagworth. Hertok Dagworth," Albert continued, ignoring Snape's expression.
"Hertok Dagworth?"
"Hertok Dagworth, I think you should know him. He's a very famous Potions Master, and I've been corresponding with him," Albert said casually. "And I can assure you, that bottle of Baruffio's Brain Elixir is perfectly safe and non-toxic."
"Finally, I have never sold Baruffio's Brain Elixir. I simply used it as a prize in a competition. It was not a transaction and was entirely in accordance with the rules."
"You drank undiluted Baruffio's Brain Elixir!" Snape immediately realized something, a flicker of emotion appearing on his grim face as he stared intently at Albert.
"Yes, sir, the results are quite good," Albert said casually.
"Did you get your head caught in a door?" Snape's face showed a moment of surprise. "Don't you know that if that thing malfunctions, it can turn your brilliant mind into mush?"
"Hmm." Albert simply responded indifferently, without any further reaction, which angered Snape so much that he kicked Albert out of the office.
As for putting Albert in solitary confinement, Snape didn't do that at all. He knew what kind of person Albert was; the fact that the guy had forced the Ministry of Magic to apologize was quite a story among the Hogwarts professors. It was said that's how the guy met Hertok Dagworth, and their relationship didn't sour; on the contrary, it became quite good.
Albert had just stepped out of the Potions Office when he was surrounded by his Twins, who bombarded Albert with questions about what he had just done.
"I just heard Snape roar. He sounded really angry."
"It's nothing, I was just pointing out a few cognitive errors Professor Snape."
"A true Champion," Fred and George both gave a thumbs up. "Snape locked you up for a few days."
"I didn't do anything wrong, why is he putting me in solitary confinement?" Albert said calmly. "After all, it's not my fault, I can't be made the scapegoat, and besides, there's no way we can find another bottle of Baruffio's Brain Elixir at the school."
"No, Kenneth Toller somehow got hold of a few bottles of Baruffio's Brain Elixir and is selling them on the black market." Lee Jordan rushed over to tell the three of them as they entered the Entrance Hall.
