Cruel Reality
Over the next few days, the Delacour family and the Anderson family ended up together. Their initial communication was not smooth, with Mr. Delacour using broken English and gestures to communicate with Herb.
Perhaps due to their Veela blood, the Delacour family is quite kind to ordinary people, somewhat like the Weasley family.
Mr. Delacour often brings his family to the resort for skiing and knows the area well. He introduced the Anderson family to many of the local delicacies and fun places to visit.
However, Nia's expression remained unpleasant. Louise had been clinging to Albert lately, occasionally even teasing him, which was really infuriating.
The two then communicated in French, leaving Nia with no chance to get a word in edgewise.
The Andersons found their son to be somewhat unfamiliar, and in their conversations with the Delacour, they had no idea that Albert was so famous in the Wizarding World.
The two couldn't help but worry about this, as becoming famous at a young age is not necessarily a good thing.
Mr. Delacour expressed his understanding and reassured the the Andersons, telling them that Albert's fame in the Wizarding World was limited to academia.
In fact, Mr. Delacour did not understand why Albert was so famous either, and he eventually attributed it to Albert's connections with many famous wizards in the Wizarding World.
Friends of academic bigwigs are usually quite capable.
If it were just one-sided, not many people would pay attention, but Albert's involvement in the field is simply too broad.
When these wizards were communicating, they inadvertently mentioned Albert and were surprised to find that they all knew him.
Naturally, they would develop an interest, exchange ideas, ask questions, collect information about Albert, and remember this Albert.
The Anderson family did not stay at the resort until the end of the summer vacation and flew back to Britain at the end of July.
There was no other way; Nia was about to start her schooling, and whether she went to Hogwarts or another school, she needed to prepare in advance.
The only thing that frustrated Albert was that the weather became even hotter and more humid after returning to Britain. He was used to the comfortable low temperatures of the resort, but he found it difficult to adjust to the high temperatures in Britain after returning home.
The sweltering heat was irritating, and as August approached, Nia's anxiety intensified, like a criminal about to be brought to trial, with the letter from Hogwarts set to be her final verdict.
Albert could understand Nia's anxiety. It was like the college entrance exam in her previous life; the anxiety and frustration were terrible, let alone for an eleven-year-old.
Even though Albert tried his best to comfort her, he couldn't change the girl's anxious mood. Every time she saw an owl Accio, Nia would rush to get the letter, wanting to see the result as soon as possible.
Albert had to put aside his holiday homework and focus more on Nia, trying to distract her with other things.
"Want to play a game?" Albert waved the game console in his hand; it was Tetris Game Console that he had asked Herb to buy.
Yes, it's the kind where there's only one game.
Albert tried to distract Nia with games, but it wasn't very effective.
"If you really can't wait to know the result, I can write to ask for you." Albert put the game console on the table, moved Tom who was lying next to him aside, and said calmly, "I know the Deputy Headmaster of Hogwarts. If you really can't wait, I can ask Professor McGonagall, the witch who came here last time."
"Really?" Nia's eyes sparkled, but quickly dimmed again. Albert knew what Nia was afraid of.
"Of course you can. If you want to know!" Albert looked into Nia's eyes and said softly, "However, whatever the outcome, you must accept it and not throw tantrums anymore."
"Mmm!" Nia nodded repeatedly.
Albert went back inside to get Quill and wrote a letter to Professor McGonagall.
After he finished writing the letter, he handed it to Nia, who took it and read it aloud softly: Dear Professor McGonagall: My sister Nia Anderson has reached the age for Hogwarts admission, and she is currently troubled by this matter. Could you please tell me whether she has been accepted into Hogwarts?
— Albert Anderson
"That's all?" Nia looked at Albert in confusion, not expecting that asking a question would be so simple.
"Professor McGonagall is the vice dean, in charge of handling new student admissions. The best way is to ask her directly," Albert handed the letter to Shera and explained to Nia.
"How long will it take?"
Albert patted the girl's head and gently comforted her, "Don't worry, you'll get a reply soon."
Albert thought Professor McGonagall's reply would probably come along with the letter he had just sent; he was writing this letter purely to comfort Nia.
"Alright, play the game console for a while. You won't have this opportunity after you start school!" Albert handed the game console to Nia, went to the kitchen to pour her a Coke, and put two ice cubes in it.
He poured himself a glass, took a big gulp, and then pulled out today's Daily Prophet from under Tom's butt.
Albert couldn't recall when Quirrell had sneaked into Gringotts to steal the Philosopher's Stone.
However, he knew that once this happened, the Daily Prophet would definitely report it, and even if the Goblin wanted to hide it, he couldn't hide it from those reporters who always wanted to create big news.
The next morning, while the Anderson family were having breakfast, Professor McGonagall's reply arrived, or rather, a letter from Hogwarts arrived.
There was only one letter addressed to Albert, and Professor McGonagall's reply was included in that letter.
Nia's smile vanished instantly, tears welling in her eyes. She knew she had not been accepted into Hogwarts.
There is no doubt that she has no talent for magic.
Albert sighed softly, opened the envelope, found Professor McGonagall's reply, glanced at its contents, and handed it to Nia.
The girl trembled as she took the note. Herb and Daisy exchanged glances and both saw a sigh of relief on each other's faces.
"Alright, Nia, don't be sad. Even if you can't go to Hogwarts, you can go to other schools." Daisy hugged Nia and comforted her softly. "You've known this for a long time, haven't you?"
Yes!
I've known this for a long time.
This reply merely severed Nia's last remaining hope.
"Cry if you want to!" Albert gently patted Nia's back and said softly, "You'll feel better after you've cried."
"Why can't I do it?!" Nia was very unwilling. She also wanted to go to Hogwarts and learn magic.
Yes!
Why?
There has never been any such thing as fairness in this world.
It is so cruel.
Albert already knew, and he was used to it.
However, it was still so cruel for an eleven-year-old girl.
"Do you remember our promise?" Albert said after Nia finished crying. "From now on, will you help me manage things here?"
