Knowledge Is Wealth
The effects of the Happiness Charm didn't gradually wear off until lunchtime, and Albert's smile faded. As he ate, he listened intently to Fred and George discussing the possibility of making Laughing Toffee, both trying to use the Happiness Charm on each other's Pumpkin Pie, with no success whatsoever.
"Looks like your Laughing Toffee is off the table." Lee Jordan poked the cursed Pumpkin Pie with his fork and turned to Albert, asking, "Is this thing still edible?"
"Probably not."
"What?" Lee Jordan was a little confused.
"I remember there's a Magical Creatures and plant that can achieve a similar effect." Albert raised his hand and tapped his forehead, beginning to rummage through his knowledge of Potions and Magical Creatures. "Oh, right, it's Puffskein. That thing can be used to make Laughing Potion. I think we can use Laughing Potion to make your Laughing Toffee."
"Laughing Potion?" Fred and George could see the joy and excitement on each other's faces. They never expected that it could actually create Laughing Toffee.
"Such a thing really exists." Lee Jordan, though not doubting Albert's words, couldn't help but ask.
"Of course, the famous Potions Master Zygmunt Bach has a record of the Laughing Potion in his the Book of Potions. However, that book is in the Restricted Section," Albert subtly reminded him. "Be careful when you go to borrow the book, lest Filch catches you."
"It's not like it's our first time there, we know what to do." Fred and George both gave Albert a reassuring look.
"Oh, right," Albert added, "You can also use the Alioto's Leaves, which is one of the ingredients of the Laughing Potion. As for the antidote, let me think... um, I remember it should be a syrup produced by the Glumbumble."
"You can also try reversing the two ingredients; that should create a candy that evokes sadness. As for how to adjust the proportions, you'll have to experiment with that yourselves," Albert casually offered the two some more advice.
Wow! Wow! Wow!
"Truly worthy of Albert!"
At this moment, Fred, George, and Lee Jordan all stared in astonishment, mouths agape and eyes wide. They never expected that this could be done, saving them the time of searching for an antidote, and Albert had even given them clear hints.
The next moment, Fred and George both reached into something. One of them took out a Quill, and the other took out a notebook, writing down a series of keywords such as Puffskein, Laughing Potion, Zygmunt Bucky, the Book of Potions, Alioto's Leaves and Flobberworm Syrup.
They'll go to the library to look up relevant information when they have time. The Twins know Albert doesn't have the time and won't help them research these things; they'll have to rely on their own time and effort. However, now that they have crucial technical support, all that's left is to adjust the drug's formulation and manufacture the corresponding antidote.
"Laughing Toffee is good, but I don't think it will sell for much." Lee Jordan was immediately glared at by Fred and George as soon as he finished speaking.
"That's true," Albert nodded. "It's impossible to make a lot of money from Laughing Toffee."
"Can you shut up?" Fred and George said in unison.
"Actually, you can use this research to create food that makes people feel happy. That's the real money-making product."
"Food that makes you feel good?" Fred asked, frowning. "You mean that one you mentioned earlier? Can the Laughing Potion really do that?"
"I don't know, it mainly depends on the proportions." Albert wasn't really sure either. He was just giving the Weasley Twins some ideas to try out. If they succeeded, it would mean a huge profit; if they failed, they would only lose some raw material costs and time.
"You mean magical food?" George asked. He figured that since Albert had brought it up specifically, it must be quite lucrative; otherwise, why would he have paid special attention to it?
"Honeydukes's Fizzing Whizbees, the kind of candy that lifts your feet a few inches off the ground when you suck on it," Albert casually gave the three of them as an example. "I'd bet there's a bit of dried Billywig Stings."
Fizzing Whizbees is indeed one of Honeydukes' best-selling products. Students going to Hogsmeade will try Fizzing Whizbees and enjoy the wonderful feeling of their feet leaving the ground.
The Twins quickly started taking notes again, muttering to themselves, "That's a good idea, it's feasible..."
"Knowledge is the greatest wealth of mankind," Lee Jordan couldn't help but exclaim. He realized that Albert had only given a few suggestions, which were enough to allow Fred and George to add several more products to their shop in the future, and that was just something he had casually mentioned.
"Exceptional intelligence is the greatest treasure of mankind," Albert corrected earnestly. "That's Ravenclaw motto."
Lee Jordan was a little stunned, but then he heard Albert say, "However, I agree with what you just said: knowledge is the greatest wealth of mankind."
"If you don't have jobs in the future, you could develop magical foods; they should sell very well." Albert took out his notebook and wrote this down.
Hmm, here's another way to make money.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione, who were sitting nearby eating, were all speechless as they listened to the brief conversation between Albert and the other three.
Ron was so surprised he couldn't speak. He never expected Albert to talk about ways to make money. And seeing Fred and George taking notes so quickly, he couldn't help but wonder if he should also take out his notebook and write down what had just been said.
Ron also knew that Harry had placed bets with Slytherin, but he hadn't been able to get the money back from Slytherin yet.
Fred and George must have won their bets, and what makes him feel conflicted is that although they haven't gotten their winnings back yet, they still firmly believe they can get them back.
"Albert, do you know who Nicolas Flamel is?" Hermione asked expectantly.
"Hmm, why are you asking this?" Albert raised an eyebrow as he looked at the three people with expectant expressions.
"We've searched through so many books, but we haven't found a trace of him," Harry said hastily. "You must know, right!"
If we could get the answer from Albert, we could save ourselves a lot of trouble.
"Yes, I know." Albert nodded to indicate that he did know.
"Who is he?" the three asked in unison.
"Nicolas Flamel, he is..." Albert paused abruptly, then looked at the three of them again, narrowing his eyes slightly, and said, "It seems you are quite interested in what that big dog is guarding?"
"You know what's in there?" Hermione was surprised; she couldn't understand how Albert knew these things.
Could it be Hagrid? "This has nothing to do with you," Albert said seriously. "Of course, it has nothing to do with me either."
"We just want to know who Nicolas Flamel is, nothing more," Hermione tried to explain, still not giving up on getting an answer from Albert.
"Don't get involved, it's a huge pit with a lot of trouble in it," Albert kindly warned. "Of course, if you want to know, go to the library and look it up yourself, or ask Hagrid, he probably knows something too."
Hagrid refused to say.
"But how do you know that?" Harry asked curiously. "I mean, you seem to know a lot of things."
"I'm not telling you," Albert shrugged. "You'd never guess anyway."
"I hate his weird sense of humor," Ron muttered under his breath, knowing he was either doing it on purpose or simply didn't know.
Of course, this was just said in anger.
Just as the three were whispering amongst themselves, Flint of Slytherin stormed out of the toilet in a fit of rage, seemingly ready to settle scores with whoever had attacked him.
After all, anyone would feel angry if they were tormented like this several times.
"Cover me."
Fred secretly pulled out his wand, gave George and Lee Jordan a look, and used their cover to cast the Happiness Charm on Flint.
The next moment, the anger on Flint's face vanished instantly, replaced by a silly-looking smile, and then he couldn't help but burst into laughter.
The sudden burst of laughter left everyone feeling somewhat bewildered.
To prevent the Slytherin from causing trouble, Truman also brought his debt collection squad to surround them.
"What are you doing?" Professor McGonagall, who had already sensed something was wrong, walked over and frowned as she looked at Flint, who was laughing heartily.
"He seems to have contracted some kind of illness; he suddenly burst into uncontrollable laughter." Truman raised his hand to cover his face, giving him a look that said, "You're sick."
"Perhaps we should send him to Madam Pomfrey; he clearly needs some treatment."
"This is... Happiness Charm?" Professor McGonagall immediately recognized Flint's condition. "Who among you cast the spell on him?"
"A spell? I thought Flint had some kind of disease where he would die if he didn't laugh." Lee Jordan practically had his shock written all over his face.
The members of the debt collection team who gathered around couldn't help but burst into laughter, as if they had been infected by Flint's laughter, and they looked incredibly silly.
