Unicorn Attack Incident

Hagrid had been in low spirits ever since Harry sent Norbert away. He even wrote several letters to Charlie in Romania to inquire about Norbert's well-being. Because of the distance, it took a long time for him to receive a reply each time.

However, a disgraceful incident in the Forbidden Forest forced Hagrid to withdraw his attention from Norbert and refocus on his own work.

Not long ago, Hagrid discovered a pool of silvery blood in the Forbidden Forest. In the limited memory of this Hunting Grounds, among the various Magical Creature living in the Forbidden Forest, only the blood of a unicorn was this unique silvery-white.

This means that a unicorn in the Forbidden Forest is injured.

Hagrid had never seen any creature in the Forbidden Forest that could harm a unicorn.

Unicorns not only possess powerful Magical Power, but they are also incredibly fast, with very few creatures in the Forbidden Forest able to catch them.

This is definitely not a good sign.

Having worked as a Hunting Grounds guard for so long, this was the first time Hagrid had encountered such a situation. He had to find out exactly what creature had harmed the unicorn.

At this moment, in the Gamekeeper's Hut, Hagrid was adjusting his crossbow, which he hadn't used in a long time, carefully checking every arrow in the quiver to make sure they wouldn't malfunction when needed.

Before leaving, Hagrid glanced at the umbrella placed beside his bed, but ultimately decided not to take his wand with him.

Hagrid should avoid using it if possible, so as not to cause Dumbledore unnecessary trouble.

"Fang, keep up."

As Hagrid closed the Wooden House door and prepared to go into the woods to find the injured unicorn, he vaguely heard someone greeting him from not far away.

"Hagrid, are you going into the woods?"

Albert looked at Hagrid's equipment and had a pretty good idea of what was going on.

"There's a unicorn that's injured," Hagrid explained. "I'm going into the woods to find it."

"At this time?" Albert looked up at the sun overhead and asked in confusion.

Is something wrong?

"This timing must be very difficult to find!"

Hagrid was a little confused, not understanding what Albert meant.

"I remember that unicorn blood is silvery-white and glows faintly at night, making it very noticeable in the Forbidden Forest and easy to find. But if you go into the forest during the day, it's not so easy to find an injured unicorn," Albert said casually, noticing the change in Hagrid's expression.

"Oh, you're right. But I have to go." Hagrid scratched his head, but he still hadn't given up on the idea of going into the woods to search for unicorns right now.

"Don't rush. Even if you go into the forest now, you won't find that unicorn anytime soon. Tell me what exactly happened!" Albert naturally didn't intend to let this opportunity pass and was prepared to try and see if he could get a new quest from this incident.

Hagrid hesitated for a moment, but finally told Albert about the injured unicorn he found in the Forbidden Forest.

"It was this morning that I found the unicorn's blood in the Forbidden Forest. After a thorough search, I found more traces of unicorn blood in many other places. It had been stumbling around the Forbidden Forest since at least last night," Hagrid recalled. "I've never encountered anything like this before."

"Hagrid, have you ever thought about what caused the unicorn to get injured?" Albert suddenly asked.

"This..." Hagrid clearly hadn't considered this question.

"Catching a unicorn isn't easy. These Magical Creature possess powerful magic and are also highly resistant to it," Albert warned. "Don't forget, unicorns live in the Forbidden Forest and have almost no natural enemies. If a unicorn wants to escape, it will be very difficult to catch."

"That's absolutely right," Hagrid muttered to himself.

"Why would a unicorn run around like that? Doing so would only worsen its injuries."

"You mean..."

"I think it's very likely that it's trying to avoid an enemy that injured it," Albert said, offering his guess.

"Have you discovered something?" Hagrid felt he needed to hear Albert's speculation, even if it was just speculation or nonsense, but it wouldn't hurt to listen.

"Just like you said, that has never happened," Albert said calmly. "Killing a unicorn is an extremely brutal thing, and ordinary creatures are no match for unicorns, let alone injure them, unless they are cubs. Why can't we think about it another way? Humans are actually their natural enemies as well."

"The one who injured the unicorn was probably a Dark wizard!"

"Dark wizard, why does Dark wizard hunt unicorns?"

"Galleon," Albert speculated, "Unicorn Horn, fur, and other things are very valuable, and sometimes people will do anything for Galleon."

"For Galleon?" Hagrid practically roared, "To kill a unicorn for Galleon? That's unforgivable!"

"Of course, there could be other reasons." Albert picked at his ear with his little finger, and after Hagrid finished roaring, he suddenly asked, "Hagrid, do you know what unicorn blood is used for?"

"Unicorn blood?" Hagrid's eyes were filled with confusion.

"Unicorn Blood can be used to keep people on the verge of death alive," Albert said in a low voice. "Perhaps some Dark wizard tried to use the properties of unicorn blood to prolong his own life."

"Oh my god!"

Hagrid was stunned by Albert's guess.

"If that's the case, you'd better hope that the person has either succeeded or failed and died," Albert continued.

"Why?"

"It is said that unicorn blood is only effective when drunk while the unicorn is still alive." Albert glanced at his Task Panel, which was finally active. After telling Hagrid so much, he had finally triggered a quest to help Hagrid find the injured unicorn.

That was really tough!

"If that person hadn't managed to drink the unicorn's blood before it died, there would probably have been another attack."

"Oh my god, we have to stop him." Hagrid jumped up from his chair, grabbed his crossbow, and prepared to go into the woods to search for the possible Dark wizard.

"This is just speculation."

"Speculation?" Hagrid looked intently at Albert and couldn't help but exclaim, "No, it's not speculation at all; it's based on firsthand observation of what happened."

"I Prophecy this would happen a long time ago in a Divination class, and I even told you," Albert glanced at Hagrid, reminding him. "However, because of Norbert, you probably forgot about it!"

"Go on..." Hagrid was a little embarrassed. He had indeed forgotten about it, so he quickly changed the subject and let Albert continue. He also wanted to hear what had happened.

"The situation is that a Dark wizard used magic to severely injure a unicorn, but unicorns are Magical Creatures with strong magic power and are very fast, so they are not easy to kill. Therefore, the Dark wizard who injured the unicorn did not get his wish."

You could only chase after the unicorns, running aimlessly through the forest, which is why you found Unicorn Blood everywhere.

"That makes sense," Hagrid nodded.

"You don't mind if I go with you to find the unicorn, do you?" Albert walked side by side with Hagrid into the Forbidden Forest ahead. "Without seeing what's going on with our own eyes, the information we get will ultimately be very limited."

"Don't we have classes this afternoon?" Hagrid asked, puzzled.

"Don't worry, I have other ways to solve the class problem," Albert casually reassured him.

"No."

Hagrid finally confronted Albert, saying, "If that Dark wizard is still hunting unicorns in the Forbidden Forest, I'm afraid I can't protect your life."

"Don't worry, I don't think that Dark wizard will show up during the day."

"Why?"

Why? Albert was speechless. He couldn't very well say that Quirrell needed to teach in the morning.
