Omen
"Did you offend Snape again?"
Lee Jordan stuffed the book into his bag and couldn't help but complain to Albert, "Why does he always like to run to the back of class and stare at you?"
Being watched from behind by Snape is not a pleasant experience.
Today's potion turned into a bunch of strange-smelling, unidentified liquid again, and he was ridiculed by Snape quite a bit for it, even earning a T grade as a result.
Who knows!
Albert slung his backpack over his shoulder, glanced up at Snape in front of the lectern, and said nonchalantly, "Anyway, no matter how much he stares, it doesn't affect me. Let him stare if he wants. Snape will give up on his own when he gets tired of staring."
Ever since the last incident involving the Love Potion, Snape seems to have been convinced that Albert was involved.
During every Potions Class, the Potions Professor would pay special attention to him, as if trying to discern something from him.
Unfortunately, Albert's Occlumency was so high that even if Snape stared with his eyes wide open, he couldn't get any useful information.
Albert remained calm in the face of Snape's deliberate attempts to cause him trouble. The more Snape did this, the more it showed that Snape couldn't do anything to him.
Moreover, Snape had no valid evidence whatsoever.
Although he doesn't need evidence.
Lee Jordan, who partnered with him, was not as composed and simply could not stand Snape's Gaze's harassing gaze.
"We have Quidditch practice later, so we'll be going now." Fred and George sighed and complained, "Lately, Wood has been like a training maniac, saying that since Flying Broom aren't working, we'll make up for it with technique."
"Did you anticipate this would happen, which is why you didn't want to become a full member?" Lee Jordan asked Albert, turning his head as he watched the Weasley Twins hurry away.
"Actually, I really hate training." Albert didn't deny it. He didn't hate flying, but he hated training rain or shine. Joining Quidditch team was obviously not a good choice.
"It will be difficult for Gryffindor to win the Quidditch Cup this year." Lee Jordan quickened his pace, walking alongside Albert down the corridor. "Slytherin's new brooms are really fast."
"It's alright, we won the Quidditch Championship last year anyway." Albert knew that this year's Quidditch Match would be abandoned halfway through because of the Basilisk.
"Aren't we going to the library together?"
"No, I have an appointment. See you tonight."
"Really." Lee Jordan walked alone toward the fifth floor, greeted Shanna who was not far away, and prepared to invite her to go to the library to do her homework together.
Now, Fred and George are out of the question; those two bastards aren't focused on their studies and always need to refer to his homework. Albert has been disappearing lately, probably out on dates with his girlfriend.
Lee Jordan was right; Albert did indeed go on a date.
Just as he passed the second-floor corridor, Albert suddenly stopped and prepared to take another secret passage to the Seventh Floor.
When he was alone, Albert always had to be extra careful and would deliberately avoid the Girls' Washroom on the second floor.
There was no way around it. Although the first attack was on Halloween and the unlucky victim was Filch's cat, Albert, as the most famous Muggle-born wizard in the school, was a perfect target for Voldemort. It was better to be on guard, lest he accidentally suffer the consequences one day.
"Being careful with your life is the most important thing," Albert murmured.
"Albert."
Suddenly, Albert heard someone calling his name.
Hermione Granger hurried over, followed by a reluctant-looking Ron Weasley.
"What's up?"
Albert stopped and turned to ask.
"Well, there's something I wanted to say..." Hermione came to Albert's side, panting.
"Don't talk about it here, you guys really have no sense of secrecy," Albert interrupted, somewhat exasperated.
The three of them arrived at a secluded spot, Hermione immediately began to talk about Harry.
It turns out that ever since the Savior Potter went to Lockhart's place for solitary confinement, she would occasionally hear a voice that neither she nor Ron could hear.
In the Wizarding World, hearing sounds that others can't hear is definitely not a good thing.
"Have you told Professor McGonagall about this?" Albert asked.
"Professor McGonagall will definitely think Harry is joking with her," Hermione whispered. "She'll probably think Harry just wants to get attention."
She came to see Albert more because Albert had said before the start of the school year that the message the House-elf had given Harry was very likely true, that something terrible was about to happen at school, and that the sounds Harry heard that others couldn't were likely some kind of omen.
Yes, Hermione was right.
"This is indeed something to pay attention to," Albert nodded. "Next time Harry hears that voice again, have him write down what it says so I can do some analysis."
"Could you... do Divination for us?" Ron asked Albert. This was their main reason for coming to Albert. Everyone said that Albert's Divination was very accurate, and he had long wanted to see it for himself.
"Alright, just this once, there will be a charge next time." Albert raised an eyebrow and said to the two of them, "Come with me!"
Albert led Ron and Hermione back to his dormitory, took a crystal ball from the closet and placed it on the table, then looked at the two who were looking around the room and asked, "What do you want to Prophecy?"
"What terrible things will happen at Hogwarts?" Hermione blurted out.
"I see."
Albert closed his eyes, placed his hand on the crystal ball, and began to make Prophecy.
Ron and Hermione both stared at the crystal ball, seemingly very curious about what they would see.
The crystal ball changed; they seemed to see an open book with something written on its pages.
The Prophecy ended soon.
Hermione and Ron stared blankly at the crystal ball, which had been restored to its original state.
"What does this mean?" Ron asked, puzzled.
"The Chamber of Secrets," Hermione whispered.
"My Prophecy abilities aren't very strong; at most, I can only Prophecy to this extent," Albert said calmly. "The terrifying things the House-elf were talking about must be the Chamber of Secrets legend."
The two looked at Albert, hoping to get some answers from him.
"Legend has it that Slytherin has a Chamber of Secrets that only the heir can Chamber of Secrets," Albert recounted. "It is said that a terrifying creature is imprisoned in the Chamber of Secrets, capable of Purify the School."
"Something terrifying?" Hermione immediately grasped the key word. "What terrifying thing?"
"I don't know," Albert shook his head. "No one has found the Chamber of Secrets."
"Could you..."
"One hundred Galleon," Albert suddenly interrupted. "If you want me to continue the Prophecy, the price is one hundred Galleon."
"This price is not expensive."
Glancing at the dumbfounded Ron, Albert kindly reminded him, "Also, I don't recommend that you continue with the Prophecy. The fact that you got so little information from this Prophecy speaks volumes. Even if you asked me to Prophecy where the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets Chamber of Secrets or what kind of monster is inside, it would be very difficult to get any results, because Prophecy can only let us see some fragments of what will happen in the future."
"Divination really that lucrative?" Ron couldn't help but swallow hard. Albert's offer of 100 Galleon had really impressed him.
"True Prophecy Master do make a lot of money."
