New Discovery
The October sky was overcast, with a faint sign of rain, but the bad weather did not dampen everyone's spirits, nor did it stop the students from heading to Hogsmeade.
No student would refuse to return to school for the Halloween feast after a day of fun at Hogsmeade, making the already wonderful event even more spectacular.
On the way to Hogsmeade, Albert and Isobel chatted about the Wolfsbane Potion, and didn't find the journey boring at all.
Suddenly, a group of Ravenclaw girls walked by; it was Katrina and her friends. The girls giggled and whispered, seemingly talking about Albert and Isobel, and several of them even kept turning around to look at Albert and Isobel.
However, the two didn't pay much attention, ignoring the girls' scrutinizing gazes, and continued their conversation until they entered Hogsmeade.
"Let's go to Honeydukes Sweetshop first!" Albert pulled Isobel's hand and led her into the candy shop, which was filled with the aroma of milk candy and was packed with students.
In a corner of the candy store, Albert saw several people sucking on a scoop of popsicle, letting their feet float a few inches off the ground.
"Let's go and give it a try."
Just as the two were heading toward the corner, they unfortunately ran into Katrina and her female companion. One of them even ran over to greet Isobel warmly while he was picking out candy.
"You're really popular," the girl said softly.
"Being too famous isn't good either." Albert sighed softly, walked over to a cotton candy machine, and started fiddling with the cotton candy. "Have you ever tried this?"
"What are you doing?" Isobel asked curiously, noticing Albert shaping a marshmallow.
In a short while, a flower made of cotton candy was quickly formed, and Albert gave it to Isobel was standing next to him.
"Muggle tips."
"I almost don't want to eat it," Isobel said softly, looking at the flower made of cotton candy.
Just then, several girls came up to Albert and struck up a conversation, hoping that Albert could get them the same flower as well.
"Sorry, we have to go."
Albert politely declined, then went to the counter to pay for the pile of candy he had just bought. He then left the candy store amidst the resentful gazes of a group of girls.
"If you're willing to teach this little trick to the candy store owner, he might be happy to give you a 15% discount when you buy candy." Isobel looked at the cotton candy flowers in her hand, feeling very pleased.
"Let's forget it. I'm not Professor Lockhart, and I don't really like being surrounded by a group of people."
The two went to Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop, a popular dating spot for couples, where they met Percy and his companion. Miss Penelope seemed quite interested in the cotton candy flowers in Isobel's hand, so Percy took him to Honeydukes Sweetshop, seemingly intending to buy one for his girlfriend as well.
"Penelope is probably going to be disappointed." Isobel put the marshmallow aside, ordered two milk teas, and started chatting with Albert about the Beauty Potion.
In fact, there are many similar Beauty Potion in the Wizarding World. This stuff was originally proposed and developed by a Potions named Sakissa Wood in the last century, but none of Beauty Potion can keep people young.
In the United States, Miss Catherine also made little progress; developing a potion that could preserve one's appearance was by no means an easy task.
Sometimes, the research of Potions requires a little bit of luck.
Albert plans to draw inspiration from the ingredients of Beauty Potion and from Mandrake, since Mandrake can be used to brew potions that can delay aging through complex Potions processes.
However, Albert wasn't sure if this thing would actually work, but that didn't stop him from revealing some research directions to Isobel.
Just then, a bolt of lightning flashed across the sky, and the faint sound of thunder could be heard in the distance.
The dense raindrops pattered down, and pedestrians on the street searched everywhere for shelter from the rain. Teahouses were also filled with students seeking refuge from the rain.
I stayed in the shop for an hour, waiting for the rain to subside before leaving the teahouse, intending to buy something at the Devis Bans store.
As Albert paid and left the teahouse, he saw an acquaintance.
"Mr. Dagworth. Hertok Dagworth," Albert said, pulling Isobel's hand and walking quickly forward to greet the figure who was about to turn the corner.
"So it's Albert!" Hertok stopped and looked at Albert with some surprise, then his gaze fell on Isobel beside him. He asked with a smile, "Aren't you going to introduce the lady next to you?"
"This is Isobel, my girlfriend," Albert began to introduce them. "This is Hertok Dagworth, a famous Potions Master, whom I've mentioned to you before."
How did you get here?
"I need Occamy egg, and I also came to see Mr. Kettleburn; I heard he's ill."
"You sold that house to Mr. Kettleburn?" Albert had already guessed the reason.
"Yes, I heard him say he was planning to retire, so I gave him the house in Hogsmeade," Hertok said with a smile. "You know I rarely come here, so keeping the house would be a waste."
After Albert consulted Isobel's opinion, the two followed Hertok into a secluded street and arrived at the same house as before.
This place has been carefully tended; the weeds in the garden have been replaced with flowers, and a shed has been built next to it.
"I thought Kettleburn would stay in the hospital to recuperate."
"Mr. Kettleburn was worried about his Little Cute Ones, so he came back."
The door was opened for them by a House-elf, probably sent from Hogwarts to take care of Kettleburn's daily life.
Kettleburn was pleased to have someone visit him and chatted casually with them about some recent events.
"I saw it in the newspaper; Mr. Damocles published the Wolfsbane Potion." Mr. Kettleburn looked at Hertok with incomprehension and confusion, still thinking that Hertok had invented the Wolfsbane Potion.
"It was Damocles first proposed using the toxins of Wolfsbane to create Wolfsbane Potion to control Werewolf. The potion existed a long time ago, but there were some problems with the raw materials and preparation," Hertok explained with a smile. "Later, he invited us to help improve the potion. I remember Albert was a great help back then."
Kettleburn looked at Albert with surprise, while Albert shook his head, indicating that he had offered some advice at the time.
"However, the price is a bit high. I don't think Werewolf can afford that stuff," Kettleburn said, shaking his head. "By the way, how many Occamy egg do you need?"
"One...no, two." Hertok changed his mind at the last minute, thinking he needed to be just in case.
"I'll have Clark bring them to you." Kettleburn didn't refuse, but sighed softly. "There were supposed to be eight Occamy egg, but somehow, when I checked, I found two were missing."
Was it stolen?
"I don't know, I don't remember," Kettleburn said.
Albert raised his eyebrows slightly, which reminded him of Lockhart, that scoundrel, since he needed Occamy egg to make his Occamy egg yolk shampoo.
"Perhaps you gave it to Professor Lockhart? I remember his Occamy egg yolk shampoo requires Occamy egg." Albert bluntly pinned the blame on Lockhart, since that guy was the most suspicious. "Occamy egg yolk shampoo?" Hertok raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Professor Lockhart gave me a bottle last time, and I haven't used it yet. It's right here," Albert said, taking the shampoo out of the Transfiguration Lizard Skin Bag.
"I've heard of this stuff. It's sold on the black market. Apparently, it's a bit dangerous to use, but the effects are quite good." Hertok took the shampoo, looked it up and down, and commented, "However, this thing isn't even a semi-finished product."
"That's a shameful waste. I really don't know why Dumbledore would agree to make him the Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor." Kettleburn had a lot of complaints about Lockhart's Occamy egg yolk shampoo, the main ingredient of which was Occamy egg yolk.
"Alright, don't get agitated. You should focus on getting better first," Hertok reassured him. After bringing over the Occamy egg from the House-elf, the group didn't bother Kettleburn any further and got up to say goodbye and leave.
"You think it's Professor Lockhart?" Isobel suddenly asked after parting ways with Hertok.
"Don't you think the Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor is suspicious every year?" Albert said, then changed the subject. "Is there anywhere you'd like to go?"
"Go to the Three Broomsticks for a drink, then go back." Isobel hesitated for a moment before asking, "Have you asked Mr. Hertok about the Beauty Potion?"
"Of course I asked." Albert didn't hide anything. "He said that the witch Sakissa Wood, who used to specialize in Beauty Potion, had also mentioned a similar idea and even spent a lot of time doing research, but she never succeeded."
"That's true, it's impossible to succeed so easily."
"If you want, I can ask around for you," Albert suddenly said. "The descendants of the Sacsayh Wood witch may still have the old research materials."
Albert thought he could find some inspiration from others, and maybe that would lead to success?
While it's not good to take chances, it's not impossible to give it a try.
"Actually, you want to see it yourself, don't you?"
Isobel looked at Albert with a speechless expression, but still nodded, fearing that his notes and research records from that time had been lost.
Most wizards don't value knowledge as much as one might imagine, especially things that don't generate income. The Beauty Potion invented by the witch Sakissa Wood are hardly a secret these days.
