Boggart in the Box

"Who sent you another Prank Package?"

Why "another"? This wasn't the first time Albert had encountered something like this.

Lee Jordan studied the parcel before him with great interest. It was still trembling slightly, and he was eager to know what was inside.

"Want to open it and see what's in there?" Fred suddenly became interested.

"Mrs. Pince is over there." George frowned as he reminded them, "Do you really want to get thrown out of the library?"

"Wasn't there a letter too?" Albert asked Kenneth.

"Yes, there's a letter. Here it is." Kenneth passed the envelope to Albert across the table.

"Wait a moment. Let me read the letter first."

Albert took the letter, turned it over, and glanced at the sender's name. Then he stood and walked to a secluded corner near the window. The sender was actually Mundungus Fletcher.

Mundungus?

Albert was rather surprised. Why had Mr. Thief suddenly sent him a package? He hadn't bought anything from the man lately.

"Could it be...?"

After thinking for a moment, Albert guessed at one possibility.

Mundungus Fletcher had gotten him a Boggart and sent it straight to him by post.

Still, that seemed unlikely.

After all, Albert hadn't paid him any Galleons yet. He didn't believe someone as cunning as Mundungus Fletcher would be willing to make a losing deal.

Albert opened the envelope and read the contents of the letter. His expression became very strange. He had actually guessed right: there really was a Boggart in the package.

Albert realized he had underestimated Mundungus's slyness. The man had actually mailed him the goods before receiving payment.

It was plainly a forced sale, and he was asking fifty Galleons.
