Flying Across the City, an Unwelcome Guest at the Door
The next morning, Han Li was awakened by the sunlight.
He was so tired last night that he did a quick cleaning and fell into a deep sleep, forgetting to draw the curtains.
Feeling the churning in his stomach, he instructed the waiter to bring him breakfast. After eating, he knocked on the door of the room next door.
Broad Hill seemed to be a little later than him, but she was almost done eating. When she saw him coming, she simply stopped eating and pushed her food aside.
"It looks like you're recovering quite well," Broad Hill said with a smile.
"It's alright, it won't affect the next operation."
Han Li found a chair and sat down, looking at his master. "Should we go to the local Spirit Hall first to ask for their cooperation? Or should we go directly there?"
"The local Spirit Hall? Ha."
Broad Hill's expression turned sour upon hearing his words, and she let out a sneer.
"Is the problem serious?" Han Li asked directly.
"No, no problem. The key issue is that they don't really serve any purpose. Do you know what their biggest role is in this city?"
Broad Hill asked with a hint of sarcasm.
"To highlight the academy's strength?"
Han Li's DNA instincts kicked in, and he blurted it out.
"Hmm, more or less."
Being described in this way by his own apprentice actually calmed Broad Hill down considerably.
"Let's not go there. It's upsetting. We'll leave in a bit and go straight to your door."
Broad Hill's action efficiency is always at its peak. After sighing, she said to Han Li.
"Go directly to the Skywater Academy?"
"No, we'll go directly to her house. I had a hotel waiter deliver a visiting card anonymously early this morning. Judging by the time, they should have received it by now." Broad Hill shook her head.
An anonymous invitation? Han Li immediately realized that it was a threatening letter. His master was quite particular.
To put it nicely, they came to find a disciple for Azure Luan, but in essence, they came to snatch her away. More accurately, this was a warning from the Worship Hall to Bibi Dong.
Skywater Academy and Shui Bing'er were just an excuse. At most, it was because of Han Li's previous attention that Broad Hill used his position for personal gain, and also managed to "earn" someone back, thus simultaneously doing favors for both Azure Luan and Han Li.
As for the Skywater Academy and Shui Bing'er, they had no choice; they were like meat on a chopping board, and the only thing they could decide was how to get a good price.
This is the true style of a fantasy world: might makes right.
This is something Han Li only realized on his way here. Through this operation, Broad Hill has laid bare the true nature of the Soul Master World to Han Li.
That's why he insisted on bringing Han Li along this time; well, his style of doing things is also much more ruthless than before.
"Alright, let's go."
Broad Hill glanced at the time again, then stood up and walked towards the door.
As soon as they stepped out of the hotel, Broad Hill immediately revealed its wings and turned to look at Han Li.
Han Li took a deep breath, and his wings also unfurled.
Then, amidst the panicked gazes of those nearby, the two of them soared through the air towards Shui Bing'er's house.
Somewhat amusingly, there was also a group of people chasing after the two below, and judging from their uniforms, they were from the Spirit Hall.
Interestingly, the people in the city didn't seem afraid of them. In fact, after they ran past, they talked with the people around them about how the people from the Spirit Hall were probably going to run into some important figure again and return empty-handed.
Han Li, suspended in mid-air, observed everyone's expressions and silently shook his head, hoping that these people would maintain their current attitude after the news spread.
After practically traversing the entire city, Broad Hill led Han Li to a small manor.
Han Li looked down and saw that although the manor was not large, it was decorated in a very high standard, with pavilions, waterside terraces, rockeries and lakes, and everything was there. In a daze, he thought he had returned to his previous life and was looking at the Suzhou gardens.
Meanwhile, at the manor below, four people were already waiting at the entrance: two adults and two children. Two beautiful women, along with two young girls, were gazing at the master and disciple in the sky.
"You two must be the owners of the visiting cards. I wonder what brings you here today."
One of the beautiful women stepped forward, bowed, and spoke in a tone that was neither too soft nor too hard.
"Are you the dean of the Skywater Academy?"
Broad Hill did not fall from the sky, but looked down at her from mid-air.
"That's right, I am Su Yan, the Dean of the Skywater Academy. May I ask who you are?"
The beautiful woman was not angry at Broad Hill's attitude; on the contrary, she became even more respectful.
"A retainer of the Spirit Hall, titled 'Broad Hill,' level ninety-six."
Broad Hill reported the same rank as before. As she spoke, she slowly and deliberately stepped down from mid-air, as if there were steps in the air, and came to stand in front of the group.
Han Li then flapped his wings slightly, transforming into a streak of azure light, instantly appearing behind Broad Hill, half a body length behind, without uttering a word.
"I came here today for only one thing, and that is her."
Broad Hill continued talking to himself, even pointing at Shui Bing'er with his finger, showing no intention of concealing his aura.
"My Third Brother is currently short of a disciple and has taken a liking to her. What do you guys think?"
After Broad Hill finished speaking, he paused for a few breaths before clapping his hands and looking at the few people who were speechless under the pressure of his aura.
"Good, very good. I am satisfied with your attitude. No one objects, so that means you agree."
"Then it's settled. She'll come back to the Spirit Hall with me later."
Only after saying that did Broad Hill seem to realize that he hadn't concealed his aura. He smiled sheepishly and then concealed it.
"Oh, it was my rudeness. My Spirit Hall is overjoyed to have gained such a fine disciple, and I actually forgot to conceal my aura. Let me apologize to you all. I hope you won't mind."
The two girls were alright; Broad Hill had slightly avoided using his aura when he was intimidating them, so they didn't seem to be acting strangely. However, the two beautiful women could only stand by supporting each other. Upon hearing Broad Hill's words, they disregarded their disheveled state and quickly lowered their heads to speak.
"Your Majesty is too kind. I wouldn't dare."
"You dare not?"
Broad Hill smiled and repeated the sentence, looking at the manor in front of her.
"What? We're all family now, aren't you going to invite me in?"
After he said this, although the two beautiful women looked very unhappy, they still exchanged a glance, and Su Yan, who had spoken earlier, stepped forward.
"Your Majesty, please."
"No rush. I was in a bit of a hurry when I arrived and forgot to see those incompetent subordinates. Let's just wait here."
At this moment, Broad Hill was no longer in a hurry. She leisurely turned around and looked back at the way she had come.
About three minutes later, the people from the Spirit Hall finally caught up.
But just as they were about to step into the estate, they stopped at the edge, gathered together and discussed something, seemingly hesitant about whether to come in.
"It seems that you two are quite imposing. This place has become a forbidden area of my Spirit Hall."
Broad Hill turned around with a half-smile and glanced at the two beautiful women who hadn't dared to look up since earlier. Then she turned back to look at the Spirit Hall personnel who were still outside the manor and looking in their direction.
"Get over here right now."
At the same time as Broad Hill's words, there was also the sound of a token being torn apart by the wind; it was Broad Hill's identity token flying towards that direction.
Once the offering token was recognized, a commotion broke out in the crowd. A few seconds later, the enforcement team quickly headed towards the manor.
"I have seen the offerings."
The Spirit Hall's law enforcement officers stopped three meters in front of Broad Hill, and the captain bowed as he handed over the token.
"I understand some things, so I won't make things difficult for you. Go back and tell Ling SiTui (the bishop) that if he really likes to think about his escape route before doing things, just like his name suggests, I will personally help him to retire completely."
After Broad Hill finished speaking, she turned around, walked past her master, and headed into the manor.
Only after Han Li, Su Yan, and the other three entered the manor did Broad Hill's voice reach the ears of the stewards.
"Oh, right, I forgot to mention, my name is Broad Hill."
