Background
Ye Jingyu is the son of Ye Xingliu and the younger brother of Ye Hao, a gifted elder brother who lacked spiritual roots. Ye Hao protected Jingyu during their childhood, then left Lingyun Peak after his lack of spiritual roots was confirmed; Jingyu later remained concerned for Ye Hao’s mortal descendants. 645
As one of the older members of the Jing generation, he shared resources with Ye Jingcheng and helped look after younger relatives after they entered the mountain. Ye Jingcheng regarded him as a potentially suitable Family Head had later circumstances not intervened. 645
His cultivation talent and conduct were remembered as among the Ye Family’s most remarkable, though Ye Jingcheng was ultimately chosen as Family Head. 397
Appearance
Ye Jingyu is described as a slightly handsome man with a composed, steady bearing. After establishing his Foundation, he wore a cyan longshan; he later altered his appearance while acting publicly as the Purple Wood Sect’s leader. 166 448
- Carries himself with restrained calm, particularly during negotiations and high-pressure encounters. 765
- Has used Aura Isolation Robes and identity-altering methods while operating outside the Ye Family. 469 1625
Personality
Ye Jingyu is cautious, disciplined, and highly attentive to risk. He surveys terrain and formations before advancing, uses overwhelming force even against weaker threats, and insists on secrecy when family interests are involved. 1043 1044
He is also family-minded. Before a dangerous campaign, he asked Ye Jingcheng to look after Ye Hao’s mortal line should he fail to return, revealing the lasting weight he places on his brother’s sacrifice. 645 During the Ye Family’s later crises, he repeatedly prioritized the clan’s security over personal gain, including refusing dangerous spoils that could bring trouble upon the family. 1434

Story Role / Major Arcs
Early Ye Family Missions
Ye Jingyu demonstrated his ability to direct combat during the encounter with the Azure Cloud Wolf Pack. He used powerful Fire Rain Talismans to shift the battle, then employed a First-Order High-Grade Heavenly Sword Talisman after the group’s formation collapsed and injured him with backlash. 7
He reached early Foundation Establishment with thorough preparation, a stable foundation, and a Second-Order spirit beast supplied by Ye Xingliu. 166
Purple Wood Sect
Operating under the name Sect Master Zi, Ye Jingyu served as the Purple Wood Sect’s public leader while advancing the Ye Family’s interests in the Green Cloud Sea Region. He negotiated directly with Wu Xin over a customized Third-Order Magic Sword, offering future territory as part of the proposal. 469
During the Beast Tide at Azure Hidden Island, he commanded Purple Wood Sect cultivators from the front, issuing tactical orders on talisman use, target priority, and array-node defense. With the sect unable to withstand the tide indefinitely, he detonated its Fourth-Order formation and Spirit Vein to create an escape route. 661 662
Sky Horse Pass and the Yu Family
At Sky Horse Pass, Ye Jingyu focused on acquiring resources useful to Ye Jingcheng rather than indulging in the wider auction. He exchanged treasures for powerful essence blood and a battle-formation technique, then withdrew rather than pursue further temptations. 762
After escaping pressure from the Bai and Qing Families, he met Yu Junyuan through Yu Xuanying. Jingyu remained composed under the Golden Core patriarch’s scrutiny, swore secrecy over the Yu Family’s plans, and received a Yu Family token. 765
Array Construction and Golden Core Advancement
Ye Jingyu led the construction of the Ye Family’s Teleportation Array beneath Lingyun Lake and personally handled difficult formation work. 786
After reaching Purple Mansion Peak, he prepared for his Golden Core breakthrough while nurturing his two Jiaolong spirit beasts. Both had reached Third-Order Peak and were expected to advance quickly. 964 He later formed a High-Grade Golden Core, strengthening the Ye Family’s upper ranks. 998
Senior Strategist of the Ye Family
As a Golden Core cultivator, Ye Jingyu led expeditions with a heavily prepared formation-and-puppet arsenal. He emphasized reconnaissance, cleared hidden threats before allowing allies to advance, and coordinated other Golden Core forces through a Spirit Map. 1042 1043 1044
After Ye Jingcheng’s reported death, Ye Jingyu acted decisively to preserve the Ye Family’s standing. He chose alignment with the Righteous Path Sect, ordered Ye Jinghu to restrain his grief, and refused to keep dangerous treasures that could become liabilities for the clan. 1440 1434
He later announced Ye Jingcheng’s successful Spirit Transformation to the gathered core family members after verifying their Beast Communication Marks. 1505
Five Spirits Sect Inheritance
At Nascent Soul Peak, Ye Jingyu joined the exploration of the Five Spirits Sect inheritance. He organized the group’s entry precautions, recognized that different spiritual roots could lead to different inheritance outcomes, and led a team with Ye Qingwen, Ye Zhijian, Ye Tengchuan, and Ye Jinghu. 1650 1652
Trivia
