Andrew had seen many nobles: men and women, old and young, from the Duchy of Rothel and the Kingdom of Locke.
But this was the first time he had seen a noble like Allen, who dared to spout nonsense in front of him while carrying a Wolf-tooth Mace meant only to scare people, accompanied by an old man and a servant girl of extraordinary strength.
Still, he did not mind such things. What he loved most was trampling those lofty big shots beneath his feet and torturing them at will.
He knew the "Grand Duke of the Kingdom of Locke" the servant girl had mentioned. It was just that the Grand Duke did not know him.
What wandering warrior on the Saint Cassis Continent had not heard of the great Shield of Locke?
He was a true tyrant of his generation, with countless lives on his hands. In his youth, he had been called the Bloody Grand Duke. But later, as the Kingdom of Locke's territory grew ever larger, he lost interest in conquering cities and lands and went home to study that foolish son of his instead.
Many human nations bordering the Kingdom of Locke were actually grateful for Allen's birth. If Allen had never been born, who knew how many small neighboring nations would have been destroyed beneath the Grand Duke's butcher's blade.
And Allen had truly lived up to expectations. From childhood to adulthood, he had never done a single proper thing. The Grand Duke was exhausted from dealing with his idiot son and had no mind left to bother with the surrounding small nations.
But hearing of someone was one thing. Andrew had no intention of showing the other side any respect. His master, Legion Commander Xiulunte, was equally infamous.
In Andrew's eyes, the Grand Duke was nothing more than a withered corpse in a tomb. The future Saint Cassis Continent would belong only to people like the younger generation's Lord Xiulunte.
If the Grand Duke of the Kingdom of Locke himself had been standing before him, perhaps Andrew would have shown some caution.
But if it was the Grand Duke's son, that famously useless noble of the Kingdom of Locke... heh heh.
Andrew rode toward Allen with a savage grin, idly playing with a long riding whip in his hand.
He could hardly wait to see this young top-ranking noble begging him for mercy, rolling across the ground and howling in agony.
Especially since the other party was a lord. Andrew was thrilled. He had never tried humiliating a lord in front of his own subjects before.
As Xiulunte's guard, Andrew shared one trait with his master: they both loved tormenting others, especially lofty nobles and important figures.
When Allen saw the ill-intentioned man approaching on horseback, a flicker of panic clearly appeared on his face. Like a schoolchild facing a class bully, he meekly hid behind Dina.
Dina, who stood half a head taller than Allen, gently patted his head and said in her deep voice, "Don't be afraid, Second Young Master. Nana will protect you!"
Andrew burst into laughter, and the knights behind him laughed so hard they nearly fell from their horses.
The subjects of Outpost County in the distance saw their nominal lord being mocked by a group of foreign knights, and obligingly joined in with hearty laughter. Though they could not hear what Allen and the others were saying, that did not stop them from ridiculing their own lord.
There was nothing to be done about it. The subjects of Outpost County had never failed to cooperate whenever their lord put on a performance.
Several middle-aged men mixed into the crowd saw Allen acting timid as a mouse and shook their heads with helpless sighs.
"I've heard of you!" After laughing for a while, Andrew cracked his whip with a sharp snap and looked at Allen mockingly.
Yorkshire pushed through the crowd and ran over, sweat pouring down his face. After explaining everything from beginning to end, he stood resolutely beside Dina and shielded Allen behind him.
After hearing Yorkshire's account, Allen asked in a trembling voice, "Mighty knight, since you are guards of the Holy See, you cannot harm me. I am a noble of the Kingdom of Locke."
"A noble? Hahaha!" Andrew shook his head. "We are merely the private army of some important figure. We have nothing to do with the Holy See, so..."
Andrew did not continue. He merely looked at Allen with a teasing expression.
Allen looked puzzled and foolishly asked, "So you have nothing to do with the Holy See? Then what gives you the right to harm my subjects?"
Andrew slowly drew the sword at his waist and said leisurely, "My sword gives me the right. So, my noble lord, what gives you the right to stop us?"
"Oh! I understand now! Since you admit you have nothing to do with the Holy See, this will be easy." Allen winked at Yorkshire. "You heard that, right? You'll have to testify later."
Yorkshire was completely baffled.
A wave of doubt rose in Andrew's heart, because he discovered that the young noble before him had completely changed. Not in appearance, but in bearing. His face still wore the same smile, yet the body that had been sneakily hiding behind the servant girl now stood straight. After strolling forward, he wore an expression of faint pity.
Allen rolled his shoulders, leaned toward Andrew on horseback, and whispered, "You just asked what gives me the right?"
"This does!" Allen raised the Wolf-tooth Mace and assumed a batting stance.
"What?" Before Andrew had finished speaking, his vision suddenly went black. Unbearable pain tore through him. He threw back his head and spat out blood as his body flew backward.
Still holding the Wolf-tooth Mace in a full swing, Allen looked at Andrew ten meters away, his entire upper body reduced to a bloody mess, dead or alive unknown, and whispered, "Use your head a little more in your next life."
Casting a contemptuous glance at the utterly stunned knights, Allen shook the blood from his Wolf-tooth Mace.
"This guy is incredibly strong." Sakre, standing inside the gates of the Government Hall, sucked in a breath and stared at Allen in shock.
Dina gave her Second Young Master an approving look, set the Siege Crossbow on the ground, and lowered her head to begin adjusting its angle.
Nearly a hundred knights were dumbfounded. One moment ago, they had been preparing to enjoy the show; the next, they found their leader lying unconscious on the ground.
This was not how the script was supposed to go. Their leader should have been freely humiliating that lamb-like young noble, and then they should have cheered loudly. They had already thought up their lines.
Looking at their leader lying on the ground in a bloody heap, they could barely process what had happened.
What were they supposed to do with the lines they had just come up with?
Stupidly, they shifted their gazes from Allen to the unusually brawny servant girl. Seeing her solemnly adjusting the Siege Crossbow, they had no idea what she intended to do.
"All set!" Dina nodded in satisfaction, used her fist in place of a hammer, and smashed it hard into the crossbow's firing mechanism.
Whoosh! With a piercing shriek through the air, the arm-thick bolt tore through three warhorses in succession before the knights finally panicked.
"Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"
"Attack that servant girl! Attack that noble!"
"Go save Lord Andrew, quickly!"
The knights frantically turned their horses around, their faces filled with shock. Even now, they still could not accept what had happened, but that did not stop them from trying to kill the noble and avenge their leader.
