Many people had yet to realize that Abomination's brainless rampage, which looked like nothing more than a dangerous stunt show and had been temporarily suppressed before it could cause greater harm, was actually far more significant.
In truth, Abomination had ignited the ambitions of most people with ulterior motives. He showed that individuals possessing extraordinary power could wreak havoc openly under the gaze of the entire world, proclaiming their strength to the whole planet.
People had always known that dangerous groups existed in this world, such as the Brotherhood, but they had always felt that the Brotherhood was unimaginably distant from them.
From this moment onward, that feeling would cease to exist. A truly intense era had fully arrived—an era where madmen and demons from every corner took the stage.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Abomination smashed through countless obstacles along the way—towering buildings, vehicles—and staggered back to the laboratory.
Even in his muddled state, he knew this was dangerous. The proper course of action should have been to immediately flee the bustling area, then secretly contact Ross and reach a reconciliation.
They could have pinned everything that happened tonight on Hulk, then joined forces to continue hunting Hulk for greater profit.
But unfortunately, Abomination felt as though his intelligence was about to explode. He stubbornly believed that only by injecting more serum could he increase his strength and reclaim his dignity.
Abomination frantically searched through the wrecked laboratory.
"If you're looking for that big-headed doll, he's hiding more than three hundred meters from here, observing everything."
Duva stepped out of the darkness. He had been waiting for Abomination all along.
"You bastard, you've been waiting for me?" Rage appeared on Abomination's hideous face when he saw Duva.
"That's right. I've been watching you, and I knew you came back here." Duva did not need to see with his eyes. By sensing with his mind, he could detect the alien inside Abomination and thus pinpoint Abomination's location.
The moment Duva revealed himself meant that the time was ripe.
He had originally thought that the alien parasitizing a powerful individual like Abomination would need some more time to develop before reaching the Chestburster stage. But unexpectedly, its growth rate was even faster than he had anticipated.
Perhaps Abomination's genes—or the portion of Hulk's genes that Abomination had acquired—were simply too powerful, allowing the alien's growth to accelerate dramatically in an extremely short period of time.
Furthermore, Abomination, as a host, was a top-tier incubation nest overflowing with flesh and blood and abundant energy.
"Do you know that, in the dozens of minutes from when I attacked you until now, I've imagined the scene that was about to happen countless times?" Duva stared intently at the distorted monster as it approached step by step, paying particular attention to his chest. "Compared to you, vampires are simply not worth mentioning."
Abomination could not understand what Duva was talking about. He only knew that something was terribly wrong with his body. It was not that his sluggish, numb nerves had become sensitive; rather, because of Duva's arrival, an exaggerated bulge had already appeared in his chest.
If Abomination had not possessed exceptionally powerful muscles and skin, then if he had been an ordinary person, the alien would have already burst out of his body from such drastic physical changes.
"You did this? What exactly did you do to me?!" Abomination looked down at himself in disbelief. He grabbed at the bulge, but the moment his steel-crushing fingers exerted even a little force, pain tore through his entire body, as though he were squeezing his own internal organs. It was an extremely bizarre sensation.
He thought of that strange spider-like crawler and vaguely realized the crux of the problem.
"Whatever this thing is, I'm Abomination! I'm the strongest on this planet! I won't die!!"
"No. You will die."
Duva walked closer, step by step. "Don't treat an alien as an ordinary parasite. The moment it bursts from your chest means that it has perfectly seized the genetic material inside your body, replacing your internal organs and spine and becoming part of you. Once it bursts out of your chest, it means that a part of your body has permanently left you. Your weak healing ability cannot restore missing organs, much less can anyone's body automatically regenerate organs that were already intact."
Abomination's corpse would also become food for the alien.
Roar!
Abomination's blood-green eyes were filled with both savagery and terror. He helplessly swung an arm down. With just one punch, he could smash this little thing before him to death.
Bang! Duva raised both arms and forcibly blocked it, though half his legs sank into the floor as the price.
Large amounts of muscle ruptured on the spot under pressure beyond their limits, while dense fractures appeared in the bones inside his body.
But he had held on, and all of his injuries were rapidly healing.
As for why Duva, a mere ordinary man, could withstand such an attack, the reason was actually very simple. An alien whose development had stopped was parasitizing his body as well...
Splat!
With a tremendous blast, Abomination's chest completely ruptured. Blood sprayed in every direction, revealing the horrifying internal pressure his body had endured.
Abomination's enormous body convulsed violently. With the last remnants of his sanity, he stared in terror at the thing crawling out of his body.
This exceeded the limits of what his meager mind could imagine. It was as though some terrifying demon had used his flesh as a shell in which to be born.
And the instant it appeared, it displayed an utterly brutal nature, violently whipping its head about as it bathed in blood and flesh, releasing a piercing shriek.
The alien was terrifyingly robust from the moment of its birth, standing nearly two meters tall.
That height might not have seemed impressive, but other types of aliens were still tiny larvae when they first burst from a chest. They needed several hours of rapid growth before developing into mature forms two or three meters tall.
Duva assessed the condition of this powerful alien and confirmed that not only had it been born with considerable strength, its development would only be faster.
Perhaps it would not even need several hours. A few dozen minutes might be enough for it to possess formidable combat power.
As for Abomination...
He was about to die.
Just as Duva had said, after the alien matured and burst from his chest, it had absorbed the finest genes within Abomination and separated from Abomination, its host, at the genetic level. Even though Abomination still retained some healing ability, he could only stare helplessly at the hollow cavity in his chest, unable to do anything.
Everything vital within the chest cavity he had lost failed to regenerate. It was as though it had vanished into thin air.
Abomination's eyes nearly burst open as he stared fixedly ahead. Powerlessly, he reached out to grab the terrifying monster that had crawled from his body, intending to crush it to death.
But what greeted him was the Inner Jaw shooting from the monster's open mouth faster than a bullet, piercing through Abomination's skull in a single strike.
Gulp, gulp!
It devoured flesh in huge mouthfuls, seizing every second to replenish its nutrients.
