Decapitation

Warp Greater Daemons were a very special group, and at the same time, the tentacles through which the Chaos Gods influenced and even invaded Realspace.

They generally fell into two categories.

The first consisted of native Warp demons, beings that had been Warp creatures from the moment of their birth. Even if they were slain, they would most likely merely be banished. In this respect, they were quite similar to the demons of Toril's universe and the Twisting Nether demons in Azeroth's universe.

But native demons were not truly impossible to kill. At the very least, the Emperor of the Imperium of Man had the ability to destroy them, and certain powerful psykers could also inflict permanent harm upon demons and even the Warp gods themselves.

The second category of Warp demons was non-native: members of mortal races who became demons through a process known as the Ascension Ritual.

To receive the blessings of the Chaos Gods, such individuals generally had to completely sacrifice their humanity and undergo a series of brutal trials. These included, but were not limited to, slaughtering or conquering the billions or tens of billions of inhabitants on a planet, forming or joining a daemon legion to expand their influence in Realspace, and using such acts to please the Chaos Gods in exchange for greater power.

The strongest among them could even earn the title of Daemon Prince, surpassing those native Greater Daemons in raw power.

After all, they had already killed countless living beings during their ascension, whereas the number of mortals slain by native demons might not even amount to a fraction of theirs.

But just as all traitors faced discrimination, those who became servants of the dark gods through the Ascension Ritual were often envied and scorned by native demons, who openly called
