Ch. 663Welcome to the Ninth Layer of Baator, Rookie

Daelin explored the vast Cyberpunk City in the Ninth Layer of Baator and was drawn into Evelyn’s escape from a group of mercenaries seeking a stolen item. After Daelin killed a Tiefling Fighter and Fireline Rescue drove off the attackers, the team took him and Evelyn aboard their aircraft, leaving Daelin eager to embrace his new life in the city.

  • Daelin entered Cyberpunk City, marveled at its scale, and realized he could not easily find the sailors who had died with him.
  • Evelyn fled a Yugoloth and its allies, then revealed that she was a high-tier Fireline Rescue client as they cornered her.
  • Evelyn drew Daelin into the fight, and Daelin killed a Tiefling Fighter with her dagger before the Yugoloth struck him with Lightning Bolt.
  • Fireline Rescue arrived by aircraft, killed the Yugoloth and an assassin, captured the surviving Fiendish Elf Wizard, and treated Evelyn and Daelin.
  • Evelyn asked the team to take Daelin with them, and he woke aboard their aircraft as the Desire Demon welcomed him to the Ninth Layer of Baator.

Ch. 664As Long as I'm Not Embarrassed, Everyone Else Is

After Daelin's death, Raymond showed Jaina her father's new life in Baator, easing her grief and securing her soul as a follower before she vowed to avenge him against the Horde. Meanwhile, Arthas and Kel'Thuzad were placed under a Pit Fiend's command for the Blood War, while Raymond examined the Helm of Domination and confronted Ner'zhul about its power.

  • Daelin accepted Evelyn's partnership in the Cyberpunk City, earned a reward, and spent his money on a Phyrexian Oil Motorcycle, weapons, food, and arena entertainment.
  • Jaina grieved over Daelin's death until Raymond showed her that her father had found a new life in Baator, where she saw him with Evelyn.
  • Jaina agreed to become Raymond's follower and declared that she would join the allied forces to attack Azshara and make Thrall and the Horde pay for Daelin's death.
  • A Pit Fiend took command of Arthas and Kel'Thuzad and ordered them to prepare for the Blood War, while Raymond kept them from meeting the Lich King.
  • Raymond examined the Helm of Domination, questioned Ner'zhul about its origins and powers, and mocked him before preparing to release Gul'dan's soul.

Ch. 665The Secret of the Helm of Command

Soros tested the Helm of Domination with Isadora, then offered Sylvanas a chance at resurrection and a new life in exchange for serving him. Sancho returned with the Trans-Temporal Beacon’s technology, and Raymond revealed his plan to use it to contact and expand his influence across countless worlds.

  • Raymond offered Sylvanas resurrection or a fresh start in another world if she served him, and she left to consider the offer with Nathanos.
  • Sancho returned from Ravnica with information on the Trans-Temporal Beacon, and Raymond explained how he planned to use it to find and exploit promising worlds across the Multiverse.

Ch. 666Undead Scourge Reduced to Blood War Fodder

Zariel received Arthas and the Undead Scourge as reinforcements for the Blood War, crushed Arthas’s defiance, and assigned the Scourge to the front. She also pressed Sylvanas to become one of Raymond’s Apostles, while Raymond negotiated with Emrakul to gain knowledge and power from the Dark Void.

  • Zariel learned that Soros had sent Arthas and the Undead Scourge to the Blood War Front.
  • Arthas attacked Zariel, but she disarmed and subdued him, while her forces surrounded the Scourge and Kel'Thuzad agreed to obey her orders.
  • Zariel sent the Undead Scourge to Defense Zone Forty-Two and later kept Arthas chained and humiliated as she tried to break his resistance.
  • Zariel urged Sylvanas to accept Raymond’s offer of resurrection and power, then demonstrated how easily she could destroy Sylvanas’s soul.
  • Raymond opened a gap in Emrakul’s seal and proposed a contract that would let him control what the Eldrazi consumed.
  • Emrakul explained that Ulamog and Kozilek could not be controlled, and Raymond chose to contract with Emrakul alone while keeping the other Titans sealed until needed.

Ch. 667Energy and Matter, Ugin's True Ability

Raymond learned from Emrakul that Ugin used the Dark Void to convert matter and energy, then tested the technique while modifying the Trans-Temporal Beacon. He reached the Caverns of Time, captured Jaina and other corrupted heroes as cards, and took the time power from Nozdormu and Murozond, leaving the fate of the Shadow Void as his next concern.

  • Emrakul explained that Ugin had gained an inexhaustible energy supply by transforming matter and energy through the Dark Void, then ended her deal with Raymond.
  • Raymond returned to Azeroth and built a research base at Ulduar, where he and his allies experimented with Dark Void energy and modified the Trans-Temporal Beacon.
  • Mirozond brought Raymond to the Caverns of Time, where the Bronze and Infinite Dragonflights fought alongside allies from doomed timelines.
  • Raymond captured Jaina, the Lich King, as a summoning card and collected numerous other heroes before confronting Nozdormu and Murozond.
  • Nozdormu surrendered his Titan power to Raymond, and Raymond killed Murozond and absorbed his corrupted World-Soul energy.
  • Raymond sensed the Old Gods' influence in Murozond's power and considered Emrakul a way to counter the Shadow Void.

Ch. 668Trans-Spacetime Beacon Tower

Soros defeated Murozond, took control of Azeroth’s temporal power, and appointed Mirozond Queen of the Infinite Dragons before returning to Mutahal Floating City to commission a Trans-Spacetime Beacon Tower. Meanwhile, Xenagos spread the secret of godhood in Theros, where Elspeth confronted him and Alkinds watched cautiously.

  • Soros destroyed Murozond, became Azeroth’s sole controller of time, and heard Nozdormu explain why the timelines had converged.
  • Soros restored Mirozond’s temporal power and made her the new Queen of the Infinite Dragons, ending the battles in the Caverns of Time.

  • Elspeth charged Xenagos in a fury, and Xenagos struck her away as Alkinds watched cautiously.

Ch. 669Theros Descends into Chaos

Elspeth and Ajani fought Xenagos in Theros, where Heliod’s arrival and disregard for Daxos’s life shattered Elspeth’s faith in the sun god. As Elspeth stayed to investigate spreading nightmares, Soros managed political affairs and discussed Cormyr’s looming crisis with Alusair in Faerûn.

  • Elspeth wounded Xenagos with her holy sword, and Ajani and Heliod’s chosen fighters joined the battle against him.
  • A Pit Fiend captured the injured Daxos to force Elspeth to stop fighting, but Heliod demanded that she kill Xenagos regardless of Daxos’s fate.
  • Xenagos revealed that he had shared the secret of godhood with mortals, provoking Heliod into a battle that devastated the surrounding region and destroyed a city-state.
  • The Pit Fiend released Daxos and urged Elspeth to leave Theros; Elspeth and Ajani rescued Daxos, then escaped as Xenagos fled to Nyx after losing to Heliod.
  • Elspeth decided to remain in Theros to investigate nightmares affecting more than fifteen city-states and to visit refugees from Mirrodin.

  • Diary recovered from the information overload, and Jin-Gitaxias began planning to complete the tower as New Phyrexia embraced mechanical transformations based on Azerothian technology.

Ch. 671Ripples on the Surface

The Trans-Spacetime Beacon Tower spread incomplete knowledge across the multiverse, awakening a powerful war machine in an Imperium besieged by Tyranids and granting magical abilities to people on another Earth. As Nick Fury’s agents confronted the fallout and The Ancient One took a gifted girl to Kamar-Taj, Raymond remained unaware that the beacon had revealed his world to other Planeswalkers.

  • An Adeptus Mechanicus priest activated an intelligent war machine built with knowledge from the beacon, but Astartes suspected Warp corruption and detained him.
  • The Astartes commander sent the robot to defend Position Forty-Two, where it devastated the Tyranids and displayed powerful abilities that the squad’s psyker identified as Psionics.
  • Nick Fury’s team discovered that the beacon’s symbols were reaching billions of people, and Coulson witnessed a young girl use them to summon a dirt-and-stone Giant.
  • The Ancient One intervened when Kaecilius tried to seize the girl, took her to Kamar-Taj, and defeated Kaecilius and his followers.
  • Nick Fury placed the girl’s parents under protection, while Raymond remained unaware that Jin-Gitaxias had activated the beacon and attracted the attention of other Planeswalkers.

Ch. 672Ashiok, King of Nightmares

The Diary warned Raymond that Ashiok had appeared after the beacon was activated, and Raymond learned that dozens of Planeswalkers had been captured and used in experiments.

  • Jin-Gitaxias prepared to extract a Merfolk Planeswalker's Spark when Ashiok invaded the laboratory and trapped him in nightmares based on Raymond.
  • Ashiok escaped Jin-Gitaxias and the Diary recognized him as a dangerous Nightmare Planeswalker capable of turning fears into powerful nightmares.

Ch. 673The Bait Cast

Raymond confronted Diary over the Trans-Spacetime Beacon Tower’s early activation, then entered the Warhammer Universe to negotiate with the Imperium of Man. He offered knowledge and technology in exchange for souls, and the chapter ended with Roboute Guilliman’s council debating how to respond to him.

  • Raymond learned from Diary that Jin-Gitaxias had ignited the Spark fourteen days earlier, and he blamed them for exposing New Phyrexia and spreading knowledge across the Multiverse.
  • Raymond touched the Spark, traced its effects to several universes, and projected his consciousness into the Warhammer Universe.
  • Raymond, calling himself Soros, revealed himself to Archmagos officials and Sister Kayla, demonstrated Glistening Oil, and proposed trading knowledge for souls.
  • The Archmagos and Sister Kayla agreed to report Raymond’s offer to their superiors, while Sister Kayla was left to deal with Tech-Priest Moore.
  • Roboute Guilliman convened an emergency meeting, where Lady Yvraine urged contact with Raymond and a human official objected to trading human souls.

Ch. 674The Decayed Yet Still Powerful Human Imperium

Yvraine and the Terra Council agreed to pursue contact with the unknown entity, assigning Canoness Grace to lead negotiations. After Warp daemons attacked Grace’s ship, Raymond rescued the survivors and confronted Skulltaker, revealing overwhelming power as Grace’s team witnessed their intended contact’s strength.

  • Yvraine, Trajann Valoris, Violetta Roskavler, and Eos Litra supported contacting the unknown entity, and Roboute Guilliman approved a plan led by the Ecclesiarchy.
  • Canoness Grace and a squad of Adepta Sororitas departed to negotiate, but a Warp storm destroyed their Gellar Field and Khorne daemons attacked the ship.
  • Grace ordered the captain to exit the Warp, and Skulltaker appeared and badly wounded her before the ship escaped into realspace.
  • Raymond arrived, sealed the damaged hull, and threw Skulltaker into space, but the daemon followed him outside.
  • Raymond destroyed a moon-sized body with a single strike while fighting Skulltaker, and Grace told her surviving sisters that establishing trust with him was their mission.

Ch. 675Decapitation

Raymond defeated Skulltaker and used Phyrexian Oil to transform his body, prompting Khorne to descend and fight him. After Raymond decapitated Khorne’s vessel and completed a new Praetor from its remains, he negotiated with Sister Grace, offering the Imperium knowledge and safer Warp travel in exchange for souls.

  • Raymond fought Skulltaker on the planet, while an Imperial cruiser fired at them and the battle devastated an abandoned city.
  • The Adeptus Mechanicus assessed Raymond’s power and considered whether he came from another universe as the fight ended.

  • Grace told Raymond that five million prisoners had arrived and that the Terra Council wanted more Warp defenses and oil.
  • Raymond offered the Imperium a planet-killing cannon in exchange for governing authority over a remote border star region.
  • Raymond gave Grace a magical pendant that transformed her into a fallen Angel and bound her soul to him.
  • Raymond instructed Grace to help other Sisters embrace their suppressed desires and warned her to avoid discovery by Roboute Guilliman and the Emperor.
  • Raymond and Grace went to meet the prisoners, while Grace concealed her new Devil form and prepared to serve as Raymond's agent inside the Imperium.

Ch. 677For Freedom!

Raymond, calling himself Soros, accepted millions of Imperial prisoners in exchange for supplies and offered them freedom in his realm after death, turning many into devoted followers. Back on Terra, Grace reported to Roboute Guilliman, who examined Soros’s powerful weapons and technology before refocusing on the Imperium’s campaign against Chaos and Xenos.

  • Grace received the first shipment of 5,326,473 prisoners and coordinated the exchange of supplies with the transport captain.
  • Raymond questioned the prisoners, stopped the captain from executing a deserter, and offered the captives a chance to sell their souls for life in his realm after death.
  • An old prisoner signed Raymond’s contract, killed himself, and appeared alive in the projected city, prompting thousands of prisoners to sign and follow him.
  • Raymond introduced himself as Soros, and the rescued prisoners became his followers before settling into lives of comfort in his Phyrexian-built city.
  • Grace returned to Terra and reported Soros’s offer and the weapons shipment to Roboute Guilliman, who consulted Belisarius Cawl about Soros’s Warp technology.
  • Roboute Guilliman acknowledged that Soros had killed an Avatar of Khorne and ordered the Imperium to focus on its war against Chaos and Xenos.

Ch. 678A Little Surprise for Nurgle

Raymond sent Jaina, the Lich King, to turn Nurgle’s besieging forces on a forge world into an expanding Undead Scourge, while Grace continued infiltrating Terra and captured a Callidus Assassin. The Imperium’s defenders prepared to report Jaina’s intervention, and Grace began trying to corrupt her prisoner.

  • Raymond warned Jaina not to underestimate Nurgle, then authorized her to weaken and eventually replace his influence in realspace.
  • Jaina struck the battlefield with a frost meteor, froze Nurgle’s forces, and raised the dead as Scourge servants who overran the planet and seized its ships.
  • The fortress’s Astartes Chapter Master debated contacting Jaina, then learned she had left the planet with her undead fleet and ordered an Astropath to inform the Imperial Regent.
  • On Terra, Grace’s ally explained that a Callidus Assassin had been captured during an attempt to kill Krosso, a conservative whom Grace was drawing into her network.
  • Grace extracted the assassin’s Polymorphine and began torturing her with a pain-enhancing spell after the prisoner tried to attack Grace and kill herself.

Ch. 679My Frostmourne Hungers

Jaina, the Lich King, destroyed a Nurgle force and fleet, drawing Mortarion’s attention while the Undead Scourge continued its campaign. Elsewhere, Roboute Guilliman tested the Planet-Killer Cannon and learned of Jaina’s actions, then sent Celestine to investigate her without provoking her.

  • An Astropath reported Jaina’s attacks on Nurgle forces, and Guilliman asked Celestine to investigate her while warning her not to provoke the Lich King.

Ch. 680Planetary Governor Moskat

Planetary governor Moskat arrived in Toul and learned that Raymond had taken control of the Bottas Sector, forcing its rulers to choose exile or submit to his rule. Moskat chose to serve Raymond’s plan to spread Utopia and corrupt Imperial elites, and Raymond revealed that Moskat was evil through and through and a Devil by birth.

  • Moskat arrived in Toul and was escorted through Raymond’s highly automated city by a New Phyrexian construct made partly from a Ripper’s body.
  • Raymond told the Bottas Sector’s surviving governors to leave with their property or surrender their power, and he killed those who openly resisted.
  • Raymond ordered Skulltaker to purge the dead governors’ families and allies, while several surviving governors chose to leave the sector.
  • Moskat asked Raymond what he planned for the Bottas Sector, and Raymond explained his Utopia, his bargain with the Imperium, and his plan to undermine it through ideology.
  • Moskat pledged his family’s service, and Raymond gave him a Devil Egg made from the souls of the executed governors.
  • Moskat saw his own evil deeds reflected in the egg and realized that he was a Devil by birth.

Ch. 681You Have No Idea What True Death Is

  • Jaina wounded Mortarion with Frostmourne, but Nurgle pulled his soul fragment back into the Warp as she unleashed a wave of death across the planet.
  • Typhus’s fleet ambushed the Scourge, and Jaina explained that her undead would fight without fear while Mortarion questioned why she spared humans.
  • Celestine attacked Mortarion, but Nurgle emerged as he fell, prompting the Emperor to possess Celestine and devastate the planet with a golden strike.
  • Jaina pursued Typhus onto his ship, killed him with Frostmourne, and raised him as an undead servant.
