Jiang Yue is a disciple from a Cultivation Family with a Second-Class Spiritual Root. Though a Class B rating in the Hundred Day Assessment is considered nearly assured for someone of his standing, he considers a Class A rating essential: it would elevate him to the Jiang Family's first tier and improve his chance of competing for family head, whereas Class B would limit his prospects to becoming an elder. While observing the Mountain Stream Diagram, Jiang Yue notices Zhong Ming become pale and nearly collapse. Zhong's composed demeanor makes Jiang Yue doubt that Zhong's soul could truly be weak, prompting his curiosity about what Zhong may have comprehended. 2

Jiang Yue first offers Zhong a place at his spring eye, despite Zhong's low status as a commoner disciple. Jiang Yue is ambitious, practical, and highly conscious of family politics. He evaluates people in terms of talent, potential, and the advantages of future alliances, but he is willing to invest resources before that potential is universally recognized.
