Organization

The Seven Mysteries Sect is one of Jade Lake City's three great sects. It recruits cultivators with Spiritual Roots and organizes its disciples among seven peaks, which remain branches of one sect rather than independent sects. The sect emphasizes unity and mutual assistance, though competition for resources and disciples creates friction between peaks. 1 25 66

• Fellow disciples killing one another is an absolute taboo and carries severe punishment. 12 78
• Disciples may be recruited across peaks; original peak masters cannot openly punish or deny instruction to those who join another peak. Such disciples usually lose the chance to hold core positions in their original peak. 66
• Sect Merit Points can be exchanged for resources, spirit stones, spells, and access to special cultivation grounds. A day in such a ground may equal half a month of ordinary cultivation. 25

Hundred Day Assessment

New recruits must reach early Qi Condensation within one hundred days to officially join Dragon Stream Peak. Their breakthrough time determines their rating and access to resources. 1

The peak that finishes first in the Hundred Day Assessment receives seven Inner Sect Disciple positions; second receives six, third receives five, and last place receives one. A disciple who leads their peak to first place, or takes first on the individual ranking as a peerless genius, may be directly named a True Disciple. 25

History

The Seven Mysteries Sect expanded recruitment after the emergence of Dark Moon and the increasing appearance of Demons and Monsters. Like other sects within the Frostmoon Immortal Dynasty, it signed a contract requiring lower-rated disciples to serve in the Demon Suppressing Division after one year of cultivation. 1

The sect previously invested heavily in Dragon Stream Peak and Mingshi Peak, directing gifted disciples and resources toward their cultivation. This strategy collapsed when many of the sword-path seeds sent out for experience were killed or crippled by Demons and Monsters. Dragon Stream Peak's Peak Master, Yun Qianqiu, was gravely injured while rescuing disciples, and the losses damaged the sect's inheritance for years. 26 28

Following these losses, the sect sharply reduced support for Dragon Stream Peak but did not suppress it outright. Its leadership became divided: one faction argued that the sect could not abandon its sharpest blade, while the other believed continued investment in sword cultivators would bring eventual decline. 26 28

During the Seven Peaks Grand Competition, Dragon Stream Peak's performance and Zhong Ming's victory over Li Feng restored confidence in the sect's sword lineage. Other peaks began seeking closer relations with Dragon Stream Peak, expecting it to return to the sect's core. 84 92

When the Six Extremes Demon Sect attempted to recruit Zhong Ming, the Seven Mysteries Sect named him a True Disciple, granted him unrestricted use of sect facilities, and pledged to concentrate its resources on his cultivation. Sect Master Zong Chengze further promised the strongest training the sect could provide. 93 94

After the events surrounding the Starlit Moon Vault, the Prince of Qinghe granted the sect a spirit-vein-rich valley near the Clear River Commandery capital to establish a new base. Zong Chengze considered relocating the main branch there and reducing the Jade Lake City base to branch status. 151
