Background / History

Sasuke is the sole surviving Uchiha and the clan's recognized future leader. The Uchiha Clan Annihilation defined his early life: he was seven when it occurred, and his fixation on becoming stronger initially centered on revenge against Itachi. Naruto later forces him to confront the wider human cost of the massacre rather than viewing it solely through Itachi's relationship with him. 99 248 249

During Team 7's Land of Waves mission, Sasuke's improved chakra control lets him use a greatly enlarged Great Fireball Technique against Haku. He rejects Haku's unquestioning devotion to Zabuza because blind trust once left Sasuke devastated by betrayal. 23

Naruto involves Sasuke in the investigation of Danzō's possible connection to Itachi and the clan's destruction.
