Then he looked toward Dong Huaiyue, studying him for several seconds before frowning. "Why does this child seem so hazy? Which lifetime are you living?"
Dong Huaiyue shook his head. "I don't know."
Evergreen Saint Emperor thought for a moment and guessed, "Judging from your aura, you should be the one among the ten with the greatest origins. Yet it seems you have cultivated only briefly and have not yet unearthed your own potential. Otherwise, first place should have been yours."
Dong Huaiyue's mouth twitched. "Senior, are you trying to drive a wedge between Qin Heng and me?"
Evergreen Saint Emperor burst into laughter. "No wedge, no wedge. I am merely speaking truthfully. Your origins are indeed immense; I cannot see through them. Perhaps my Eldest Senior Apprentice and Master Void Ember God could guess a little about your background."
Dong Huaiyue cupped his hands. "I'll borrow your auspicious words. One day, I'll surpass Qin Heng and reclaim the dignity due to this senior."
Qin Heng smiled at that. "That would be best. Striving and competing together is what keeps the path of cultivation from becoming lonely."
Evergreen Saint Emperor continued looking down the list.
His assessment of Han Ren was, "Sharpness hidden within, great skill appearing clumsy. His laws are slightly weaker; eighth place is beyond doubt."
As for Thunderclap, he said, "A true dragon Heavenly Chosen, a direct
