The Sauron Cavalry, like a flood bursting its banks, roared over Karl and Charlotte, their ferocity undiminished.

Using their speed and momentum, they crashed into the Carnford infantry's lines.

The charge of the warhorses and the slashing of the riders did indeed cause a huge impact and chaos on the defensive line, and many infantrymen were knocked away and cut down.

However, problems arose as well. Once they charged into dense infantry formations, the speed advantage that Light Cavalry relied on for survival was instantly lost.

Their warhorses struggled through the mud, their hooves constantly slipping and splashing up murky mud.

Several Sauron light cavalrymen fell violently due to their inability to stop in time or the slippery ground. The heavy impact was accompanied by the cracking sound of bones breaking, and the riders on their backs were thrown off and rolled in the mud.

Those cavalrymen who managed to barely control their mounts were plunged into an even more desperate situation.

The Light Cavalry, having lost their speed, were like trapped beasts amidst the dense infantry formation.

Upon seeing this, the infantrymen of Carnford immediately swarmed around in groups of three or five, attacking the horses' legs and bellies with spears and Battle Axe.

The warhorse neighed and collapsed, throwing its rider to the ground.

Before the fallen cavalrymen could even get up, they were pounced on and pinned down by the ferocious infantry.

Someone was roughly pulled off their horse, followed by a heavy Iron Gauntlets slamming down with a whooshing sound, the dull thud of skulls shattering sending chills down one's spine.

Some people struggled desperately, brandishing their scimitars, but were stabbed in the body by several short swords, their blood instantly staining the mud red.

The cavalrymen had to slow down and engage in troublesome close-quarters combat with the infantry surging from all sides.

On the other side, the experienced Lyon, after completing his first breakthrough charge, did not linger in the fight but immediately tightened the reins.

He controlled his lancers to slow down gradually, drawing a graceful arc across the open area, and quickly merged with the cavalry led by Roland on the other side.

In a short time, nearly sixty cavalrymen regrouped and faced the chaotic battlefield once again, forming a new charge formation.

The forest of spears and the imposing armor resembled a colossal steel beast, briefly catching its breath before pouncing on its prey once more.

Unag desperately swung his sword to parry an incoming spear, then looked around, his heart sinking.

He saw his cavalrymen like fish stuck in a quagmire, their speed decreasing and their formation being torn apart.

What made his scalp tingle even more was that in the open field in the distance, the heavy lancers led by Lyon had adjusted their direction again, and the cold tips of their lances were pointed directly at their chaotic battle!

"It's over!" This thought was like ice water poured over his head, instantly chilling Unag.

He knew all too well what would happen to stationary or slow-moving Light Cavalry when facing a full-force charge of heavy lancers on the plains—it would be a one-sided massacre!

Sure enough, the very next second after he realized this, the familiar yet chilling sound of hooves thundered again, approaching from afar like the War Drum of death, striking the hearts of every Sauron Cavalry!

The lancers of Lyon have started moving again!

This time, their target was crystal clear: the Sauron light cavalry struggling in the mud and entangled with infantry!

"Scatter! Scatter now!" Unag roared hoarsely, trying to get his men to avoid the deadly impact.

But it was all too late. The Light Cavalry, struggling in the mud, had no time to speed up and disperse again.

"Boom!!!"

The torrent of steel once again mercilessly crushed into the ranks of the Sauron!

This clash is even more brutal than the last one!

Light Cavalry, having lost their speed and space, were as fragile as paper in the face of heavy lancers wielding long lances!

The spear easily pierced the leather armor, sending the rider flying, and the warhorse's immense momentum smashed everything in its path, breaking bones and tendons.

Screams, the cracking of bones, and the clanging of metal filled the air once more.

In an instant, no fewer than forty or fifty Sauron Cavalry were killed or seriously wounded and fell from their horses in this charge!

Unag himself was nearly pierced by a spear, only managing to dodge it thanks to his superb horsemanship and a bit of luck. However, his mount was scratched by the spear tip and reared up in shock.

He looked at his men, who were falling around him like wheat being harvested, his eyes filled with despair and fear.

This can't go on! If we charge again, his entire army will be wiped out!

"Retreat! Retreat the entire army! North! Quickly!" Unag commanded, his voice trembling with tears.

He no longer cared about tactics, honor, or comrades. He turned his horse around, kicked his injured warhorse hard with the spurs, and was the first to flee for his life to the north!

The surviving Sauron Cavalry, already terrified, were relieved to hear the order to retreat. They abandoned the fight, desperately spurred their mounts, and followed Unag in a disheveled escape from the muddy battlefield that had become their nightmare.

This time, they didn't even dare to look back; they only wanted to get as far away as possible from the terrifying lancers behind them and the deadly swamp that had swallowed countless lives of their comrades.

On a slightly higher earthen slope behind the position, Invag watched helplessly as everything unfolded before him, his face gradually changing from gloomy to shocked, and finally turning into a deathly despair.

He watched as Unag led his Light Cavalry in a seemingly heroic charge, an attack intended to decide the fate of the world.

However, this highly anticipated mobile force first encountered an invisible wall, as it was met head-on by Carnford's seemingly appearing heavy lancers, and its momentum was abruptly halted.

Immediately afterwards, the remaining cavalry became entangled in the Carnford infantry's quagmire, struggling to move forward in the mud.

Finally, when Carnford's lancers completed their turn and launched a second, devastating charge, Unag's forces completely collapsed.

The last thing he saw was Unag's back as he fled north in panic with his remaining troops, without looking back.

Carnford's cavalry did not pursue them for long distances, clearly aware that their horses could not match the speed and stamina of the Sauron light cavalry, who specialized in this area, and chose to stop while they were ahead and consolidate their victory.

This series of unexpected events struck Invag's heart like a cold hammer.

As Unag's banner disappeared into the distance, and Carnford's cavalry began to regroup, casting their bloodthirsty gazes across the rest of the battlefield, a chilling thought suddenly flashed through Invag's mind.

That's it! With Unag gone, the cavalry threat is completely gone. The Carnford People's next target will be here!

His elite Sparrow Corps had been almost entirely wiped out in the previous brutal infantry battles, and now he only had demoralized, poorly equipped auxiliary troops and a few surviving soldiers left.

There was simply no way they could withstand the rested and victorious Carnford main force, especially that formidable lancers!

"Damn it! Damn it!" Invag cursed under his breath, cold sweat instantly soaking through his lining.

He whirled around and roared at the equally ashen-faced messenger beside him, "Retreat! Retreat the entire army! Immediately! North! Run as fast as you can! Abandon all unnecessary baggage!"

His orders were filled with panic and an undeniable urgency.

However, it was too late.

Just as Invag turned his horse around, his troops were still in chaos and confusion, and had failed to effectively carry out the retreat order.

Lyon the other side of the battlefield, Lyon's sharp eyes had already accurately captured the wavering of Sauron's central army position and the command flag that was trying to slip away quietly.

"Target! Enemy Commander-in-chief- in-chief! Charge with me! Crush them!" Without hesitation, Lyon pointed his longsword directly in Invag's direction and issued the thunderous command!

Having just experienced two resounding victories, the Carnford lancers were in high spirits and immediately roared in fury upon hearing the order.

They once again formed an invincible charging formation, like a pack of wolves that had spotted their prey, and pounced on the direction Invag had retreated!

The earth began to tremble again, and the sound of horses' hooves, a symbol of death, like a death knell, clearly reached the ears of every Sauron soldier who was retreating in panic, and also struck Invag's heart, which had almost stopped beating.

He looked back and saw the torrent of steel approaching at an alarming speed; the shadow of death instantly enveloped him completely.
