The silence was quickly broken!

"Thump! Thump! Thump!"

Within the Sauron Army ranks, the heavy and rapid War Drum rang out like a death knell!

The drumbeats pierced through the billowing smoke and noise, heralding the arrival of the final battle!

In an instant, the Sauron soldier, who were scattered all over the outer city, let out a deafening roar, like a pack of hungry wolves swarming out of their nest, brandishing their gleaming swords and spears.

Treading through the charred ruins, they launched their final and most frenzied all-out assault on the breach in the city wall that had just been blasted open on the mountaintop, a symbol of Carnford's last hope!

The crowd surged, their murderous aura soaring, as if they were about to completely engulf the entire mountain!

"They're coming up! All hands on deck! Take control of the line! Hold the breach!" Brendan's roar drowned out the enemy's clamor, hoarse yet carrying an undeniable resolve.

Without the slightest hesitation, the surviving defenders, led by their officers, charged headlong into the rugged, death-defying line made of broken bricks and stones, like moths drawn to a flame.

Using massive stone blocks, broken beams, and hastily piled sandbags as cover, they quickly formed the last thin but resilient defensive line at the highest point of the ruins.

The spearmen stretched their sharp spears out from the cracks in the rocks and the gaps in the bunkers; the archers and the remaining Musketeers risked climbing the half-collapsed walls and the remaining rooftops, searching for the best angle to fire, their cold arrowheads and gun muzzles aimed at the death slope below.

The vanguard of the Sauron crashed into the lingering, dim smoke and dust from the Cannon bombardment, their vision severely impaired. But their charge did not falter. With their numbers and a fearless, brute force, they surged forward relentlessly!

However, the defenders launched a counterattack in an instant!

"Bang! Bang! Whoosh! Whoosh!"

From behind the ruins on both sides of the smoke and dust, scattered yet precise bullets and arrows shot out in an instant! These ambushing archers were extremely familiar with the terrain, and their firing angles were tricky and ruthless!

"Pfft! Ah!"

Several Sauron soldier were at the forefront, trying to quickly cross the smoke and dust, were caught off guard and shot in the throat or eye socket. They screamed and fell to the ground, dying instantly!

The soldiers behind them paused, and their momentum faltered momentarily, marked by confusion and hesitation.

"Don't stop! Spread out! Form evacuation columns! Climb up! Charge and kill them all!" A Sauron centurion brandished his scimitar and roared hoarsely, forcibly stabilizing the formation.

The surviving Sauron soldier immediately changed tactics, abandoning their dense mass charges and instead quickly spreading out into several narrow columns. Like agile geckos, they began to climb up the collapsed city wall slopes, using both hands and feet!

This reduces the area covered by long-range weapons and allows the complex terrain of the ruins to be used as cover.

However, the slope of the ruins was extremely difficult to traverse, with loose rocks and slippery soil. Climbers had to proceed with extreme caution and at a very slow pace, which undoubtedly provided the defenders with an excellent opportunity to snipe from their elevated position!

Above the breach in the city wall, the defending archers and Musketeers calmly aimed and fired!

Sauron soldier were constantly being shot while climbing, screaming as they lost their balance and fell like rolling stones, often knocking down their companions below who were struggling to climb, causing small-scale chaos and casualties.

But the Sauron, with their overwhelming numerical superiority and fearless ferocity, continued to advance inch by inch, like a rising tide, slowly but steadily approaching the top of the breach.

Finally, the first few of the bravest Sauron infantrymen, with their agility and a bit of luck, managed to climb to the edge of the breach, their heads and shoulders just peeking out from the top of the ruins!

"Kill!"

The defending spearmen, who had been waiting for a long time, were already poised to strike! At the officer's command, more than a dozen sharp spears suddenly thrust out from behind the cover, accurately piercing the faces, throats, and chests of those who had just peeked out!

"Ugh!"

"Pfft! Pfft!"

The Sauron soldier had no time to parry or dodge before being pierced instantly by the dense spears!

Their bodies convulsed violently, their faces contorted with disbelief, terror, and pain. They fell backward and tumbled down the steep slope, their fate unknown, leaving only a few glaring streaks of blood on the slope.

"Cover! Fire arrows! Throw javelins! Suppress them!" The Sauron Army on the slope, seeing this, roared furiously, his eyes wide with rage.

The Sauron soldier below immediately used their bows and arrows and short javelins to fiercely retaliate against the exposed positions of the defenders above the breach!

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!" Several light arrows whistled past the heads of the defenders.

"Thud!" A short spear, thrown with great force, struck the huge stone slab used as cover, sending sparks flying!

"Watch out for the stray arrow!" A guard spearman was thrusting with all his might when he was caught off guard and struck in the unprotected gap of his shoulder blade by a stray arrow that came from a blind spot. He groaned and staggered to the ground.

While another Musketeers was reloading, he was struck in the forehead by a rock thrown from below, causing him to bleed profusely and tumble down from his cover with a scream.

"Cover up! Quickly fill in! We can't let them get up here!" The soldiers in the back row roared with bloodshot eyes as they rushed forward, quickly filling the gaps left by their comrades, continuing to thrust downwards with their spears and smash down with stones!

The two sides engaged in a brutal and relentless tug-of-war at this narrow, chaotic, and deadly gap in the collapsed passage!

The defenders, relying on the terrain and their indomitable will, held their high ground with spears and falling rocks; the Sauron, on the other hand, relied on their endless reserves and their inherent ferocity, charging upwards wave after wave like ocean waves, retaliating with ranged weapons and reckless climbing.

The ruined slope was soon covered with layers of corpses and wounded soldiers groaning in pain. Blood soaked every inch of bricks and soil, turning the area into a veritable meat grinder.

From the very beginning, the battle entered its most brutal and primal state of intense conflict!

Every second, lives are lost.

The breach, like a greedy maw, relentlessly devoured the lives of soldiers from both sides.
