Brothers United
At that very moment!
Above Friedrich's head, the space shrouded in cursed clouds suddenly began to twist violently without warning!
Immediately afterwards, a blinding, pure white light suddenly tore through the barrier of space!
A figure, accompanied by powerful magical fluctuations, suddenly plummeted from the white light like a meteor!
It landed precisely between Friedrich and the surrounding Sauron soldier were attacking him!
Boom!!!
The moment the figure landed, an invisible shockwave spread outwards from the point of impact!
The dozen or so Sauron soldier closest to him were struck as if by a giant hammer, screaming as they were violently thrown back, knocking down even more people behind them!
For a moment, a small vacuum zone was cleared around Friedrich!
As the dust settled, the light faded.
The newcomer was tall and imposing, with a stern face, and held an oak staff in his hand.
It was none other than Konrad!
Konrad didn't even glance at the horrified Sauron soldier around him; his gaze immediately locked onto his brother Friedrich, who was kneeling on one knee, his breath weak.
Especially striking were the massive, menacing axe on his shoulder armor and the ominous, cursed cloud above his head.
Without any hesitation, he quickly drew an arcane rune in the air with his left hand and uttered a few short, ancient syllables.
The sapphire at the top of the staff suddenly emitted a soft yet purifying white light!
A pure beam of light shot out like a sharp sword towards the cursed cloud hanging over Friedrich's head!
Sizzle! Sizzle! Sizzle!
The moment the white light touched the dark cloud, in just a few breaths, the cursed cloud that had caused Friedrich such great exhaustion was completely dispelled by Konrad's single spell!
The heavy burden weighing on Friedrich's soul and Battle Qi vanished instantly!
He felt a sense of lightness throughout his body, and the previously sluggish flow of his Battle Qi qi became smooth again!
Friedrich growled, his right hand slamming into the axe handle still embedded in his shoulder armor, forcefully pulling the heavy Battle Axe from the cracked armor and tossing it to the ground with a loud crash.
He used the support to stand up. Although he still felt a sharp pain in his right shoulder, he could move around without much difficulty.
He turned his head in disbelief to look at the person who had saved him like a divine intervention at the crucial moment.
When Friedrich saw Konrad's familiar yet somewhat unfamiliar, cold face, he was completely stunned and blurted out:
"Conrad... Konrad? How... how could it be you? What are you doing here!"
Konrad slowly turned around to face Friedrich, his expression remaining calm.
He slightly raised his chin, his tone carrying a hint of reserve and a touch of teasing:
"What's wrong, my dear brother? You're allowed to single-handedly, like a legendary hero, venture into this den of tigers and wolves to rescue Karl... but I'm not allowed to join in the fun and lend a hand?"
Before he could finish speaking, Konrad's eyes sharpened, and he raised his staff, pointing it at the Sauron soldier who had recovered from their shock and were now poised to attack again!
He chanted rapidly, and the sapphire at the tip of his staff crackled with electricity!
"Chain Lightning!"
Crackling and popping!
A bolt of lightning, like a silver serpent, shot out from the tip of the staff, striking precisely the Sauron soldier charging at the forefront!
The soldier didn't even have time to scream before he was instantly electrocuted into a charred corpse!
But this was just the beginning! The lightning, as if possessing a life of its own, didn't disappear after striking the first target, but instead leaped to another soldier nearby, then a third, a fourth...!
Lightning bolts leaped and bounced wildly through the dense enemy ranks!
Wherever they went, Sauron soldier convulsed and fell down in droves, their bodies billowing black smoke, and the air filled with the acrid smell of burning flesh!
With just one spell, a large area was cleared, causing mass damage far exceeding that of physical attacks and creating a huge psychological deterrent!
At this moment, the surviving Sauron soldier were finally completely stunned!
They stared in horror at the mage who had suddenly appeared like a god of magic, and then at the golden knight who, though wounded, still exuded a murderous aura. For a moment, no one dared to step forward!
Konrad had previously been hiding inside Carnford Castle and had not appeared during the most intense battles of the city's defense.
This was not out of cowardice, but out of the prudence of a mage; he had to conserve enough magical power to prepare an escape route for himself and his two students.
That teleportation spell, capable of instantly leaving the battlefield, was a trump card he had carefully considered and kept.
However, when he stood on high ground and saw his brother Friedrich among the reinforcements, Konrad's long-held plans were completely shaken.
He knew Friedrich's strength well; one of the kingdom's few Fourth-Order Knight, whose martial arts were forged in the crucible of countless deaths, enough to strike fear into the hearts of Sauron elite.
With him joining the fray, Carnford's fate might truly take a turn for the better.
More importantly, when his elder brother risked his life to aid their blood relative, what reason did he have to remain aloof and quietly leave?
At this moment, the honor of the family and the bond of brotherhood triumphed over the mage's weighing of pros and cons.
The two brothers didn't even have time to say a word; a single glance was enough for them to understand each other's feelings.
They leaned back to back, completely at ease, entrusting each other with their most vulnerable rear.
The blood-stained swords pointed outwards, their chilling killing intent mingling with the unbreakable bond of trust, forming an invisible barrier.
The Sauron soldier who had been itching to attack were intimidated by the sudden turn of events and the fierce aura emanating from the two brothers, and for a moment they dared not advance.
They simply gripped their weapons tightly, forming a stalemate.
The air was thick with the stench of blood and the deathly stillness before a storm.
