Inside Buzhou Mountain, within Pangu Hall, the sound of discussing the Dao never ceased.
But far away on Phoenix Nest Mountain, where auspicious clouds coiled and the Phoenix Trees dripped with emerald green, a completely different scene unfolded.
Two blazing golden rainbows tore across the sky, landing before the mountain gate. They were Di Jun and Taiyi.
"Di Jun of the Sun Star, and Taiyi, request an audience with Fellow Daoist Nuwa and Fellow Daoist Fuxi." Di Jun's voice was gentle yet carried an undeniable authority, spreading across the entire Phoenix Nest Mountain.
Before long, the mountain gate opened, and Nuwa and Fuxi walked out side by side.
Nuwa possessed a peerless grace, her aura ethereal, as if untouched by any dust.
Fuxi's face was refined and scholarly, his eyes deep and profound, as if the Primordial Eight Trigrams slowly revolved within them, deducing the myriad phenomena of the world.
"Fellow Daoist Di Jun, Fellow Daoist Taiyi." Fuxi wore a warm smile. "The two of you were not cultivating in seclusion on the Sun Star. What brings you here today in such grand fashion? May we ask your purpose?"
Nuwa also gave a slight nod, her demeanor serene.
Entering Phoenix Nest Mountain, they took their seats as host and guest.
Di Jun dispensed with excessive pleasantries and cut straight to the heart of the matter. "Fellow Daoist Fuxi, Fellow Daoist Nuwa."
"We two brothers have come presumptuously today because there is a matter of great importance—one that concerns the future landscape of the Primordial Wilderness, as well as the path and prospects of both you and us—that we wish to discuss with you."
Fuxi's fingers moved slightly, as if sensing the Heavenly secrets, his expression unreadable. "Oh? What matter is so weighty that it demands such solemnity from you two?"
Di Jun's gaze was sharp as he spoke directly. "You two must have seen it as well. Some time ago, the Witch Clan established their clan at Buzhou Mountain, drawing down boundless merit and greatly increasing their Destiny!"
Fuxi nodded. "The Witch Clan establishing their clan, with merit descending from Heaven, is indeed known throughout the Primordial Wilderness. As descendants of Pangu, they live up to their name."
Nuwa's cool voice rang out. "The Witch Clan, in the name of Pangu's descendants, made the grand vow to guard the Primordial Wilderness, cleanse the Sha Qi, and regulate the Earth's veins. This is a deed of great merit, in accordance with Heavenly will."
Taiyi suddenly let out a cold snort. "Hmph! The Witch Clan's actions—calling it guarding the Primordial Wilderness—are actually hiding malicious intent! Having gained such merit and Destiny, their next step will surely be to dominate the Primordial Wilderness!"
Nuwa's delicate brows furrowed slightly as she looked at Taiyi. "The Witch Clan swore to cleanse the Sha Qi and regulate the Earth's veins. These are tangible actions. Perhaps it is not as you suspect, Fellow Daoist?"
Taiyi sneered. "Fellow Daoist Nuwa is far too kind. Descendants of Pangu? Guarding the Primordial Wilderness? They are merely excuses to seize Destiny and strengthen themselves!"
"Once their power is established, where on this Primordial Wilderness land will there be any place for us non-Witch Clan beings?"
Di Jun's voice was steady but carried a persuasive edge. "What Taiyi says is not alarmist. The Witch Clan is born strong, and now, with the blessing of Heavenly Dao merit, their arrogance knows no bounds."
"Look at the countless beings of our Primordial Wilderness—birds and beasts, grasses and trees, spirits, scaled creatures and water dwellers... Though they spread across the four poles of the Primordial Wilderness, they remain like scattered sand, each ruling themselves!"
"If we do not unite in time to form a power capable of resisting them, when faced with the Witch Clan's relentless encroachment in the future, I fear we will face utter annihilation!"
"By then, regret will be too late!"
He fixed his burning gaze on Fuxi and Nuwa. "Taiyi and I have thought long and hard. We wish to emulate the Witch Clan, unite all beings of the Primordial Wilderness, and establish—the Demon Race!"
"The Demon Race?" Nuwa's brows furrowed slightly.
"Correct, the Demon Race!" Di Jun's tone was resolute. "In accordance with Heavenly will, establish order, govern all beings, enlighten the ignorant, and let the creatures of the Primordial Wilderness each find their place and fulfill their roles! This is an act that follows Heaven and responds to the people, and it is also boundless merit!"
"The Witch Clan takes 'guardianship' as their banner; our Demon Race shall take 'order' as ours!"
"The Witch Clan rules the Earth; our Demon Race shall rule the Heavens!"
Fuxi looked at Di Jun, his gaze profound. "Your ambition, Fellow Daoist, is vast indeed. But the countless beings of the Primordial Wilderness—how many are there? Among them are countless powerful ones, and even more who are unruly and untamable. To unite them—how can that be easy?"
"Precisely because of this, true leadership is needed!" Di Jun's eyes blazed as he stared straight at Fuxi and Nuwa.
Fuxi's fingers lightly traced the Eight Trigram diagram, not immediately expressing his stance.
Nuwa's delicate brows remained furrowed, as if she had little interest in such matters of conquest.
Nuwa's delicate brows were knit. By nature, she disliked conflict, and instinctively resisted this kind of struggle that would sweep across the entire Primordial Wilderness.
Seeing their hesitation, Di Jun immediately laid out his bargaining chips.
"If you two are willing to join our Demon Race and share in this great undertaking,"
"I, Di Jun, am willing to honor Fellow Daoist Nuwa as—Empress Nuwa!"
"And honor Fellow Daoist Fuxi as—Emperor Xi!"
"The positions of Empress Nuwa and Emperor Xi shall be equal to the Imperial positions of Taiyi and myself!"
"You shall share in the supreme Destiny of the Demon Race and wield the authority of Heaven and Earth together!"
"With the four of us joining forces, gathering the pinnacle power and Destiny of the Primordial Wilderness, how could our great endeavor fail?!"
Empress Nuwa? Emperor Xi?
Fuxi and Nuwa exchanged a glance. These terms were quite generous.
If the Demon Race could be successfully established, Di Jun and Taiyi would be Emperors, while Nuwa and Fuxi would be Emperors.
This was not merely an honorable title; it represented actual status and authority second only to the two Demon Emperors within the future Demon Race, along with the unimaginably vast blessing of the clan's Destiny!
For their path of cultivation, this was undoubtedly a tremendous allure.
Nuwa pondered for a moment, her voice cool. "Establishing the Demon Race, governing all beings... this would put us at odds with the Witch Clan... irreconcilable, with no possibility of coexistence."
"Precisely because coexistence is impossible, we must establish it!" Taiyi suddenly stood, the Solar True Fire around him flickering faintly. "There can only be one protagonist of the Primordial Wilderness!"
"The Witch Clan is powerful. If we do not unite, we will surely be picked off one by one in the future!"
Di Jun added, "You two, the Witch Clan has already seized the initiative by establishing their clan, gaining Heavenly Dao merit and greatly increasing their Destiny. If we hesitate any longer, we will truly miss our chance, and regret will be too late."
"Establishing the Demon Race is not just for the sake of our four paths, but to find a way out for the countless living beings of the Primordial Wilderness, to fight for a space to survive, free from the oppression and enslavement of the Witch Clan!"
Fuxi began his deductions once more. Though the heavenly secrets remained chaotic, he vaguely glimpsed a golden path leading to supreme glory, yet also accompanied by endless slaughter and calamity.
Risk and opportunity coexisted.
Fuxi looked at Nuwa and gave a slight nod.
Nuwa received her brother's signal. Though she sighed inwardly, she understood that the tide had turned, and they could not stand aloof.
Her clear, cold gaze swept over Di Jun and Taiyi as she spoke slowly.
"Very well. My brother and I agree to join the Demon Race."
Di Jun and Taiyi exchanged a glance, both overjoyed!
"Empress Nuwa, Emperor Xi, you understand the greater good!" Di Jun rose and solemnly bowed.
"Haha! With two Fellow Daoists joining us, our Demon Race's great undertaking is as good as done!" Taiyi was also brimming with pride and ambition.
"Since it's settled, when and where should the Establishing the Clan ceremony be held?" Fuxi regained his composure and began considering practical matters.
"Fellow Daoist Di Jun, establishing a clan is no small matter. It requires great Destiny and a solid foundation. Though you two were born from the Sun Star and have extraordinary roots, to unite the Demon Race, I'm afraid..."
Di Jun and Taiyi exchanged a glance, confident smiles spreading across their faces.
Di Jun laughed heartily. "Fellow Daoist Fuxi's concerns are well-founded. Without thorough preparation and a foundation capable of suppressing the Primordial Wilderness's Destiny, how would my brother and I dare to speak lightly of establishing a clan?"
He paused, looking at Taiyi, who stood tall and proud.
"To be honest with you two."
"When my younger brother and I roamed the Primordial Wilderness in our early years, we chanced upon an ancient relic at the summit of Buzhou Mountain, in the Thirty-Third Heaven!"
"It was a vast, boundless complex of palaces, suspended above the nine heavens, shrouded in mist and swirling immortal energy—far surpassing any known blessed land or cave heaven in the Primordial Wilderness!"
"This place is the perfect foundation gifted by heaven to our Demon Race!"
"My brother and I have named it—the Heavenly Court."
The Heavenly Court?
Nuwa and Fuxi both showed surprise.
Such a blessed land, discovered by Di Jun and Taiyi? Their Destiny was truly extraordinary!
Any lingering doubts about joining the Demon Race vanished at that moment.
To discover and occupy the Heavenly Court was proof enough that Di Jun and Taiyi were beings bearing immense Destiny and Opportunity!
Following them might indeed win that sliver of hope and the supreme path.
"The Heavenly Court... Good! A fine name, the Heavenly Court!" Fuxi praised. "With the Heavenly Court as our foundation, establishing our Demon Race, overlooking the Primordial Wilderness, commanding the stars of the heavens! The time is right! The Destiny aligns!"
Nuwa also nodded slightly, a flicker of brilliance in her cold eyes. "Then we await the good news from you two Fellow Daoists."
"Excellent!" Di Jun said, brimming with ambition. "Let us agree—a thousand years from now, atop the Heavenly Court, we shall proclaim to the Primordial Wilderness and formally establish the Demon Race!"
"Very well, as you say, Fellow Daoist." Fuxi agreed.
Nuwa nodded in assent as well.
The four supreme beings of the Primordial Wilderness, within Phoenix Nest Mountain, forged an alliance destined to reshape the landscape of the Primordial Wilderness.
Di Jun and Taiyi took their leave, transforming into golden rainbows and heading straight for the Sun Star. They would begin preparations for the Establishing the Clan ceremony a thousand years hence.
Nuwa and Fuxi stood outside the hall, gazing at the direction the two had vanished, long silent.
"Sister," Fuxi finally spoke, his tone carrying a hint of gravity. "This matter... the stakes are too great. The calamities to come may be beyond measure."
Nuwa shook her head gently. "Though the risks are great, it is also our Opportunity. The tide of the Primordial Wilderness has risen. Caught in it, how can we stand apart?"
She looked toward the direction of Buzhou Mountain.
The Witch Clan. The Demon Race.
The Primordial Wilderness was destined to fall into chaos.
