History

Early eras

The Primordial Wilderness is the world created by Pangu and the homeland of the myriad races. Pangu Hall lies beneath Buzhou Mountain within it, where Zhou Ming and the other Ancestor Witches were gestated in blood cocoons. 1 73

Its early history was marked by the Dragon–Phoenix–Qilin Calamity. The Dragon Clan ruled the Four Seas, the Phoenix Clan dominated the skies, and the Qilin Clan controlled the land; their struggle for territory, spiritual veins, and Destiny filled the world with slaughter and fiendish energy. 3

As its spiritual energy grew richer, innate spiritual roots and treasures emerged, followed by Innate Great Gods such as the Three Pure Ones, Di Jun, Taiyi, Nuwa, Fuxi, Jieyin, Zhunti, Zhen Yuanzi, and Ancestor Minghe. 11

Witch Clan era

The Witch Clan formally established itself at Buzhou Mountain, swearing to cleanse Sha Qi, regulate the earth veins, and guard the Primordial Wilderness. The vow earned immense Merit and made the clan a formally recognized force within the world. 24 26

Competition for Innate Spiritual Treasures intensified after Hongjun's teachings, as cultivators sought treasures needed for the Method of Slaying Three Corpses. The resulting conflicts increased Sha Qi throughout the world. 23

The Witch Clan and Demon Race later fought at Buzhou Mountain. After its victory, the Witch Clan publicly declared that it would not seek to dominate the Primordial Wilderness and instead wished for the myriad races to coexist with less conflict. 66 73

Underworld and world-origin conflict

With Zhou Ming's assistance, the Underworld was opened beneath the Six Paths of Reincarnation. It remained independent from, yet closely connected to, the Primordial World; the Earth Book stabilized the resulting disturbance to the earth veins. 184

When Zhou Ming extracted Primordial Origin to reconstruct Wang Shu's Dao Body, the world instinctively rejected the act. Tribulation clouds gathered above Buzhou Mountain as the Heavenly Dao and the Primordial World's own will retaliated against the theft of its Origin. 375

Shattering and reconstruction

During the final conflict between Zhou Ming's Pangu True Body and Hongjun's faction, clashes between Hunyuan-level powers devastated the Primordial Wilderness. Its firmament broke apart, chasms split the land, and Chaos currents collided with its laws. 736

Zhen Yuanzi, Tongtian, West Queen Mother, and Wang Shu evacuated survivors into Chaos, but fewer than one-third of the world's living beings were saved before the Primordial Wilderness shattered completely. 736 741

Zhou Ming used the Pangu Realm as a core and fused the surviving Primordial Wilderness fragments into it. The former world’s fragments became the new world's “flesh and blood,” while the Three Authorities of Heaven, Earth, and Man were placed at its core to restore its order. 741

Later development

The reconstructed world expanded to more than ten million times the original Pangu Realm's territory. Its spiritual energy became tangible, and its Three Authorities gradually repaired and merged into the new heaven and earth. 741

After Zhou Ming integrated the Pangu Realm and Houtu fused her own opened world into it, the Primordial World gained a greatly strengthened foundation. Its Heaven and Earth Membrane and laws became capable of withstanding Sage-level combat without easily shattering. 824

By this period, its spiritual energy and laws had become increasingly pure, reborn innate divinities cultivated several times faster than before, and Houtu believed it could eventually develop into a second Eternal Dao Realm. 824

Wu later chose to refine the Primordial World rather than open a new one. By merging it into his inner world, he sought to transform that inner world into a true Chaos world and use the resulting change to enter the Great Dao Realm. 845 846

• Buzhou Mountain — The pillar of heaven and earth, formed from Pangu's spine; it is the central convergence point of the world's laws and Destiny/Fortune. 734
