Background / History

Clarence was the patriarch of the Kellen Family and an Apocalypse-level general of the Monkeli Great Empire. He returned from the battlefield to witness his sixteen-year-old second son, Sumin, unlock his Gene Lock. Clarence initially expected Sumin to become another pillar of the Empire, but the examination revealed a Gene Level of 1 and a Brain Domain Level of -3. When Sumin refused to stop obsessing over mechanical parts, Clarence stripped him of the Kellen surname and sent him to a logistics planet under Imperial law 1.

After Sumin left the family, Clarence learned that his second son’s Brain Domain Level had actually been detected as 25. He was then told that Sumin had become a skilled Mechanic, killed a Level 5 Sea Blue Star person, and piloted a Mecha to kill a Level 7 Steel Lizard. Clarence’s disappointment turned into shock, pride, and regret 67. When he believed Sumin had been eliminated by a secret Imperial plan, his rage was powerful enough to shatter nearby glass. After learning that Sumin had escaped, Clarence began searching for his whereabouts 68.

Clarence eventually reunited with Sumin and acknowledged that his son still had a home in the Empire and an Apocalypse-level father willing to protect him. Their relationship became less strained, and Sumin began addressing him as “Dad” 102 247. Clarence also helped negotiate the Empire’s acquisition of Sumin’s technological knowledge, while defending Sumin’s interests during the transaction 134 224.

During the conflict with the Beast God Civilization, Clarence infiltrated the Guangling Family estate to avenge the attack on the Kellen Family. He overwhelmed Guangling Apocalypse, destroyed his Mecha, killed him, and absorbed the golden crystal that had empowered his enemy 267 268. Later, he became Human Civilization’s strongest visible combatant during the war against the Crystal Civilization, drawing the attention of its highest-level experts 328 330.

The Empire’s Leader eventually used Clarence as bait in a plan to eliminate the Crystal Civilization’s Super Apocalypse experts. After the war, the Leader—revealed to be the Later Saint, an entity from another universe—attempted to eliminate Apocalypse’s influence by killing Clarence. Clarence rejected the Later Saint’s ideology and fought to reclaim the Empire from the impostor 349 350.

Clarence was killed in the Ruoer Starfield after a battle between his peak Third Energy Level and the Later Saint’s Fourth Energy Level. His Entropy Matter cultivation allowed him to regenerate repeatedly, but it eventually reached its limit, and the Later Saint shattered him into atoms 351. He was later resurrected through cultivation technology, with his regenerated body absorbing Entropy Matter as it formed 356.
