Everything was developing in a positive direction, but I was growing more and more uneasy inside. It wasn't that I couldn't stand these people's laziness. A safe environment naturally made people lower their guard.
But after experiencing so many deaths, I understood deeply that things were far from simple.
The existence of the insane asylum definitely served another purpose. Otherwise, more things couldn't possibly have happened.
Our peaceful life continued. Life in the insane asylum was actually rather monotonous. Normally, aside from eating and sleeping, we listened to the director's lectures. Other than that, we simply wandered around the asylum.
I had explored many parts of the asylum and discovered that all the buildings bore faint traces of blood. Something terrifying must have happened here.
Liu Ling'er, however, had already grown accustomed to this kind of life. She said to me, "Liang Fan, I think this place is quite nice. Why don't we live here together?"
"I have no interest in that." I spoke coldly.
"But we can't leave either, can we?" Liu Ling'er looked at me and said seriously, "Why don't we stay here and have children together? We could live our own lives here."
"We could get away from all the trouble and never have to care about what's happening outside again. We could just live out our lives here in peace!"
Looking at the hope in Liu Ling'er's eyes, I shook my head and said helplessly, "If that were really the case, it would be a good thing. But things aren't that simple."
"You still think there's something wrong with this asylum? But everything seems perfectly normal to me. You're just being paranoid." Liu Ling'er said.
"If there's nothing unusual about this asylum, why can't anyone leave? Why do they suddenly fall into a coma after leaving?"
