The kingdom traces its foundations to the Earth Dragon Demon Emperor, who ruled one of the Four Great Demon Kingdoms of the ancient era. The present royal family belongs to his Earth Dragon clan. A royal record later reveals that the clan was not always the Demon Race's ruling family: its ancestors rebelled against an earlier sovereign, during an era of conflict among rival Demon Emperors 353 478.

The kingdom's relationship with Great Wei rests on a delicate balance of powerful cultivators. Star Realm fighters are valuable to both sides, while the Demon Race's longer lifespan gives its experts an advantage over humans of the same realm 183.

Rule and Territory

• Imperial authority — The kingdom is held together largely by the strength of successive Demon Emperors; a weakened ruler risks internal strife among powerful clans and leaders 458.
• Major clans — The Qingqiu Fox and Profound Fiend Tiger clans hold prominent positions. Dharma Aspect Realm cultivation tends to be concentrated in major clans with the necessary Visualization Diagrams 475 481.
• Royal title — A decree permits demons who reach the Star Realm to call themselves King, although most avoid the title after a Primal Chaos Realm royal descendant began attacking those who used it 183.
• Eastern region — Fire Ant City is one of its largest eastern cities, with a population of at least one million 459 471.

Defenses and Intelligence

• City detection — Major cities carry treasures that detect humans entering them, making covert entry difficult for Great Wei's Demon Slaying Marquises 459.
• Fortifications — Fire Ant City has protective formations; the capital's defensive formation consumes ten thousand Spirit Crystals every quarter of an hour while active 459 480.
• Teleportation network — Fewer than ten major cities have teleportation arrays. The royal family uses them to move personnel rapidly against rebellions or human attacks 460.
• Intelligence — The Qingqiu Fox Tribe generally gathers intelligence on Great Wei, using its innate abilities and scattered branches 385.
• Royal treasury — A guarded treasury in the capital holds martial arts, cultivation techniques and historical records. Entry is restricted to select members of the royal family 478.

Conflict with Great Wei

• Qiulin County infiltration — A Chameleon Clan demon replaced the county magistrate, while Advisor Li gathered intelligence and sent humans with special bloodlines toward the kingdom under the guise of conscription 58.
• Counterattack — After losses during the Demon Slaying Marquis selection, the kingdom approved Yan Zehong's plan to strike back and kill Great Wei's Primal Chaos Realm martial artists 352.
• War on multiple fronts — The kingdom sent armies into Great Wei. Its northern forces included two concealed Dharma Aspect Realm Ape-Monkey experts and demons suited to mountain and forest warfare 451 457.
• Fire Ant City — Great Wei targeted the city as part of a feint. Shen Lin took it alone and subsequently attacked other demon settlements while freeing captive humans 457 474.
• Capital assault — Great Wei's forces advanced on the capital. Mo Yuan abandoned his central army, then returned to defend the city with its formation and hidden Dharma Aspect Realm experts. The barrier was broken by Ji Zhanxie's Demon Slaying Sword 475 480 481.
• Attempted departure — After the barrier fell, Mo Yuan and three predecessors revealed plans to leave the continent. Shen Lin destroyed the wooden token Mo Yuan tried to use to initiate their departure 482 483.
