The turmoil in his mind left Mo Li lost and confused. Seeing his brows twisted into a knot, Wei Dengke and Zhong Lichun said nothing more. In truth, Mo Li had not suffered a relapse during these past dozen years. He simply could not accept reality. Put plainly, his problem all these years had been psychological, not a brain disorder. The only way for him to recover was to figure things out himself. Otherwise, no matter how much outsiders wanted to help, they had no way to intervene.
After wrestling with it for quite some time, Mo Li's tightly furrowed brows gradually relaxed. Then, unexpectedly, he began to laugh, though his smile was filled with bitterness. Seeing his strange smile, Wei Dengke and Zhong Lichun immediately grew tense, afraid that Mo Li had suddenly relapsed.
Mo Li did not relapse, however. After shaking his head with a bitter smile, he suddenly picked up the wine cup and downed the wine in one gulp. Then he said somewhat wistfully, "It seems I've been too stubborn all these years. Whether my current life is real or not, since I'm here, I should take things as they come. I've made you worry all these years. Don't worry, I won't sink into despair anymore."
"Huh? You've figured it out?" Mo Li's sudden change left Wei Dengke and Zhong Lichun somewhat incredulous. A man who had shut away his heart for fifteen years had suddenly figured things out? Was that even reasonable?
"You don't need to look so surprised. People aren't actually that complicated. A knot in the heart exists only because you can't see past it. Once you do, even the greatest problem can be laughed off. I've made you worry all these years, so I'll raise a cup to you as an apology."
