Background and History

The Li Family was one of East Moon City’s three first-rate families, alongside the Jiang and Fu Families. Its status allowed its members to pressure weaker families and civilians; observers expected Ye Hao to yield when Li Xuanyuan invoked the family’s name against him. 6

Several Li Family disciples, led in Ye Hao’s class by Li Lengxuan, bullied academy students for years. Parents who sought an explanation from the Li Family were reportedly beaten and seriously injured, while other victims’ families chose to endure the abuse. 11 Li Lengxuan particularly targeted Ye Hao for years, and the dispute escalated after Ye Hao defeated him. 17

The family’s influence extended across East Moon City’s commercial district, where it possessed thousands of shops. 18 Li Feng, a family member who managed ten nearby stores, killed Lin Shige and Lin Shiyu’s father with a kick because he disdained the man’s clothing. 16 18

Conflict with the Ye Family

Academy confrontations

After Ye Hao defeated Li Lengxuan, Li Shaoyou confronted Ye Chen at East Moon Academy to restore the family’s honor. Li Shaoyou defeated Ye Chen and declared that this was the consequence of opposing the Li Family. 12

Li Shaoyou and Jiang Taibai later threatened to target every Ye Family student in the academy competition if Ye Hao did not appear. 13 Ye Hao answered the challenge, defeated Li Shaoyou, and publicly humiliated him before the academy’s students. 14

Demand for compensation

The Li Family sent three elders to the Ye Family estate, demanding that Ye Hao kneel before Li Lengxuan and Li Shaoyou, kowtow in apology, and pay ten thousand Low-grade Spirit Stones. They threatened all-out war if the demand was refused. 17

Ye Qingyun rejected the demand, defeated the three elders, and stated that while the Ye Family valued right and wrong, it would answer elder intervention with the full strength of its own clan. 17

Deaths of Li Feng and the steward

Ye Hao killed Li Feng in revenge for the death of the Lin sisters’ father. When the Li Family steward pursued him and declared that anyone outside a first-rate family who killed a Li Family member had to die, Ye Hao killed the steward as well. 18

Li Xuanyuan identified Ye Hao as the likely culprit because the Lin sisters had been taken from the slave market by Ye Hao. The family considered immediate war but postponed action for a month, believing outside forces were preparing to destroy the Ye Family. 19

March on the Ye Family

With Imperial Dynasty support, the Li Family prepared for war and gained three Breakthrough Pills. Its ancestor ordered the mobilized force to kill every Ye Family member except Ye Wuchen and Ye Hao. 28

More than two hundred Li Family members marched on the Ye Family estate. The family’s four Half-step Spirit Sea Realm ancestors hovered above the force, convincing East Moon City’s observers that the Li Family had become the strongest of the first-rate families. 29

Annihilation

The Li Family attacked the Ye Family under orders from its ancestor. Ye Hao responded with a vast golden External Spirit Energy Projection that overwhelmed the charging force and crushed the family’s four Half-step Spirit Sea Realm ancestors. 30 31

After the initial strike left the Li Family force devastated, Ye Hao released destructive sound waves that killed the remaining Li Family members. More than two hundred members of the family perished, ending the Li Family as a force in East Moon City. 31
