Chapter 6: Should I Go Tag Along?

BOOM!

A slender arrow streaked through the air, landing directly in the center of a group of goblins. Instantly, a spark ignited, followed by a massive explosion. The Big Goblin, which had been scratching its pocket a second before, was blown away by the blast. Its battered iron pot shattered into pieces, spilling jelly-like black liquid all over the ground.

The shockwave from the explosion sent the ten or so goblins lazily sprawled on the ground flying. The ones too close were instantly engulfed in flames, their screams echoing as they plunged into the filthy ditch. However, judging by their motionless state in the foul water, they were likely all but dead.

"Who is it! Who did this?!"

The next second, a tall figure rose from the flames. Its green skin was covered in charred wounds, its monstrous face and exposed flesh resembling a demon. A roar filled with killing intent echoed through the dark sewer.

Amidst the roar, the Big Goblin stumbled towards its blown-away weapon. It tightly gripped a thigh bone as tall as a person and, using the residual firelight, glared in the direction the arrow had come from. If it hadn't instinctively sensed danger and grabbed the nearest goblin to use as a shield before the explosion, it would most likely be dead by now.

However, even though it wasn't dead, it was severely injured. But the Big Goblin could no longer concern itself with that. The pain in its body and the rage from being ambushed had completely shattered its already fragile sanity. All that remained was the desire to tear its enemy to shreds.

"Humans, adventurers!"

The next second, the Big Goblin spotted Tuka near the exit. Wielding its bone club, it roared and charged. Its towering physique and demonic visage exuded an oppressive aura. The remaining surviving goblins, seeing this, also picked up nearby corpses, roots, and let out their own cries as they charged forward.

"Prepare yourselves, the goblins are coming!"

Tuka watched the horde of goblins charging towards him, calmly retreating. He perfectly navigated past all the traps and reached his companions. Casually handing his bow to Nina, he drew a round shield and longsword from his back, positioning himself in front of everyone, his face grim as he faced the charging goblins.

The next second, an arrow whizzed past Tuka's side, and a goblin that had just charged in fell to the ground, its throat completely pierced by the arrow. Its ugly face wore a ferocious grin, but its eyes were filled with a desperate longing for life.

"Well done, Nina!"

Tuka smiled as he looked at the fallen goblin. Although Nina was still just a young girl, her archery skills were more than enough to make her a core member of the party.

"It's because Captain chose such a good spot."

Hearing Tuka's praise, a hint of shyness appeared on Nina's delicate face. The truth was, the reason she could so easily shoot the goblin's throat was largely due to the location. The narrow passage only allowed two goblins to move abreast, and combined with the traps, these goblins became easy targets. On top of that, the goblins had already suffered considerable damage from the previous explosion, which was why Nina could kill one with such ease.

"Damn humans, I'm going to eat you all!"

Suddenly, a towering figure squeezed through the entrance. The two goblins standing in its way were casually smashed aside, their flesh and blood flying. Amidst the carnage, the Big Goblin charged forward, triggering all the traps that had been set in advance.

Before the Big Goblin could reach them, its body was already riddled with arrows, and both its feet were caught in bear traps. Blood flowed continuously from its wounds. Strangely, the once bright red blood now appeared somewhat black and viscous.

Thanks to the Big Goblin clearing all the traps, the remaining goblins were able to follow safely.

Seeing this, Tuka's smile widened. He exchanged a look with Gordon beside him, then raised his shield and blocked the Big Goblin's bone club. The others also took this opportunity to attack the Big Goblin with their weapons.

Furthermore, due to the terrain's limitations, the goblins behind the Big Goblin were completely unable to attack, only able to anxiously watch as the wounds on the Big Goblin's body increased.

Meanwhile, Lu Minghao, hiding in a gap in the corner, was cautiously observing the outside. He tentatively began to crawl out. The three Giant Rats from before had left a while ago, and to Lu Minghao's surprise, there were no pursuers after such a long time.

"That was an explosion, which means the humans who were fighting those three Giant Rats earlier are in danger now?"

Lu Minghao surveyed the direction of the explosion. Those three Giant Rats had also fled from that direction. This meant that the humans over there were fighting, and they must have encountered a powerful Monster, forcing them to use a powerful attack.
